In March 2023, BBB contacted the business regarding claim in its advertising.
In its advertising, the business states "Our inspections are so thorough - they're 200% guaranteed!" and "We are so confident of our exceptional service, that we offer our customers a 200% guarantee! What that means is, if for any reason you are not satisfied with your inspection, we will pay for another inspection with a home inspection company of your choice up to the amount of our fee."
Its website also offers a "FREE 90-Day Inspection Guarantee" and "FREE 90-Day Termite Guarantee." Some time in 2024, this claim was removed. The website now states "We’re currently offering a 90-day Guarantee with every home inspection so, don’t delay! "
Under the BBB Code of Advertising, when using the term guarantee, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details can be seen prior to sale. These details must disclose any material limitations on the guarantee. Advertisers should only use “satisfaction guarantee,” or similar representations in advertising if the seller or manufacturer refunds the full purchase price of the advertised product or service at the consumer's request. Since its policy may not include a full refund, BBB suggested that the business may want to consider modifying this statement. Offering a "200% Satisfaction Guarantee" may be misunderstood by consumers to mean that the business will double the amount paid if the consumer is not satisfied. BBB asked for clarification of this guarantee and an explanation of the terms. The business did not provide clarification or add the terms to its advertising.
