Absolute scam. Making $30,000 a year ( in a NON TECH) job. have been told by them that i make $50,000 a year despite sending in several paystubs showing that I don't. They keep trying to get me to pay a ridiculously high payment. The phone number doesn't work, won't email me back. How is this legal and how is this company still in business? How has the BBB or the FTC not shut down this company and 'forgiven' the ISAs? This is ridiculous!

Customer service is an AI chatbot that is pretending to be human. None of the customer service numbers are working.

My ISA contract was transferred to Meratas, I'm starting to question if it's a scam company. Phone line is always busy. They don't respond to my emails. They aren't honoring terms from previous contract holders. Help page is 404 not found. Their address is a post office. I can't access contract documents from their portal. I can't remove my bank information or turn off auto pay. Very shady company.

This is a scam. This company just charged my credit card 21 times back to back because ***** thought it was fraud (which it obviously is) and denied it. Glad I used a credit card. I don’t owe them this month, but they force you to do autopay. The charge was accepted 3 times and now I’ve paid them more than I owe. Turns out none of their emails or phone numbers are real, so I can’t connect with this company. I’m going to have ***** deny everything from them so they won’t get their money. Don’t give them yours.

Meratas somehow obtained information about an Income Share Agreement that I signed with a completely unrelated financial institution. I did not provide Meratas with this information, nor did I consent to them receiving any of my personal information. Despite this, Meratas is suddenly acting as if they are the financial institution responsible for servicing the contract. Meratas has never been involved in the agreement at any point. On 9/4/2024, Meratas emailed me claiming that a "payment" was "due" on 9/1/2024 and had not been received. In this email they claim I need to log in to my "portal" and make the payment ASAP to maintain good standing on my "Account". I have never created any sort of account with Meratas and have never even communicated with this company. The email insinuates if I do not send money I could accrue late fees, and negatively impact my credit score. I immediately contacted Meratas to inform them that they are not listed in the signed ISA contract, that I had never communicated with them previously, that I had not consented to them having my information, and that they should cease requesting payments as they have no legal or contractual right to do so. Meratas emailed me again on 9/8/2024. They again claim I missed a "payment". They also claim that my "account" is at risk of becoming "delinquent," with potential consequences if I do not make a payment. I sent this complaint to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and they felt the matter was serious enough to escalate directly to the FTC I sent Meratas a final email mentioning that I had filed a complaint with the CFPB. I received an automated response where they referenced another company they are connected to, called "BloomTech". Meratas accidentally confirmed they are the financial servicer of BloomTech, a company previously penalized by the CFPB. The connection to BloomTech may be why the CFPB felt the need to immediately escalate the situation to the FTC. Sketchy company!

They won't respond to any of my complaints/requests/inquiries despite emailing them dozens of times. Ive had maybe one response, but they never fail to ask me for money. Very sketchy. I think they try to trap you

Here is a letter I sent to Meratas after they would not let me provide income information: ```My statement became available the day you decided not to allow me to upload it. I cannot upload a statement that does not exist, yet this happens repeatedly. It is criminally absurd that you have two years' worth of my income and assume that I make more than three times the amount because you decided not to let me upload my statements. Meratas is blatantly fabricating numbers to collect money based on completely arbitrary assumptions that have no real basis. The only painfully obvious reason you would assume that I make that much is because it pushes me over the threshold and allows you to collect money. That is the only reason for the arbitrary income estimate that is suspiciously the exact amount that triggers loan payback. If you were using any sort of generally accepted principles, you would base the estimate on historical reporting. This is shady AF. I have attached my most recent statement, and just like the last two-plus years, the payment comes from the same source. The only reason you would not allow me to upload a document is so you can claim that I chose not to - that is a blatant lie. ``` This is how they operate. Do not do business with them. I look forward to seeing them in court.

Almost impossible to get help from customer service. No one answers your calls. When you send an email, they take their time to respond. I make payments, but it doesn't get deducted. Then it shows that I didn't make a payment. Very frustrating company to deal with.

You cannot get a hold of anyone when you call. I made my January payment on 1/6/24 and it hasn't been deducted from my bank account. I called several times and no one ever answers the phone.
