Buyers be aware that this place sells dead grasses and plants! I bought 12 grass sods rolled on plastic from Wakeman's white birch nursery and upon installation we found two grass sods were completely dead so I brought it back to Wakeman for a refund. The employee there took away the dead grass sods but the owner on the phone instructed casher that they don't do refund, which means you're out of luck as buyers if they sell you dead plants & grasses & flowers! I find it hard to believe that this local business can get away by ripping customers because trumbull/monroe is a very good community! Please do yourself a favor and save any potential headache by going to other nurseries in the area! unbelievable terrible customer services!

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Two sods were sold to me in bad condition and were lying on the backyard along with other sods. The business made up the part that I left the two rods in the trunk of my car. That's not true and I won't leave dirty and bad rods in the trunk of my car. If the owner wants to sue me for the fact that he sold dead rods to me that fit in the definition of selling dead plant, then be my guest. Do not threat a costumer after you sold dead rods, I'm not scared. *********** is a state that protects consumer rights. Its clearly that BBB can tell how abusive this business owner is by his threating language, one can image how he abuses and mistreats clients behind the scene. I'm sticking to the fact that business sold two dead rods and refused to refund, and my reviews are true based on my own experience.

    Sincerely,

My employee told me that the customer told her exactly what I said in my response. If the customer wants to change his statement, that’s fine with me. The fact remains that the customer returned THREE DAYS LATER with completely decomposed sod, and that all of this stress should have been avoided had the customer been diligent and returned the unwanted sod the next day in a timely manner, not three days later. I am not threatening anyone, merely stating the fact that if the customer continues to slander and make up lies about our business, I will take legal action. The same laws that protect the consumers in *********** also protect individuals and businesses from untrue statements made in writing publicly.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

If you still remember, I picked up the sods on two separate trips and on the last trip, the owner told the employee to replace few sods because they were bad. when I went home to lay the sods, i found there were 3-4 sods that were bad. two were deposed and two with few minor dead grass spots but I decided to return only two deposed sods because they were completely dead.   I did not return the next day because I did not know that you were open on the weekend and it was raining. On the next morning that I packed two decomposed rods in my trunk, the ten other rods that were lying next to two bad sods were fine after a day of rain. Matter of fact, i had explained everything to the employee, a middle-aged gentleman, and he told us I can get a refund with the cashier. But then cashier refused to refund the sods after talking to the owner on the phone. It's what it is. I told the fact.

    Sincerely,
