The federal Truth in Lending Act has set requirements for clearly and conspicuously disclosing credit terms in advertising. The triggering terms are:

-The number of payments or period of repayment;
-The amount of any payment, expressed either as a percentage or as a dollar amount; or
-The amount of any finance charge.
The three disclosures are:
-The amount or percentage of the down payment;
-The terms of repayment; and
-The annual percentage rate.
BBB requested that the business add these disclosures to its advertising or modify its claim to state "Financing available." The business did not make changes to its advertising at this site.
Connecticut state law requires that every contractor include their Home Improvement Contractor's (HIC) Registration number on all advertising in all media. The business added this HIC number to its website but not to its social media sites or directory listings.
