To be fair, the actual instructors (remote and in person) are ok. Some in person instructors were exceptional (****** and *********). The major issue with this company is how they advertise making the entire process easy, which was not the case in my experience. Being located in ********* their online portal would only show availability for driving lessons in ********** ******* *** ***** Hill as "closest". I had to make several phone calls to get lessons that were within 30 minutes of driving. Also, was charged a "no show" fee when my daughter forgot her permit and the lesson was cancelled, when we lived under 15 minutes away from one road driving site. It would have been a 30 minute round trip max, however they refused to charge the "late" fee to go get the permit and come back. Additionally, one of the in person lessons was cancelled with a day or so notice, two weeks prior to the testing date. The biggest issue was when it came to the testing date, which was scheduled in advance. Upon showing up to the testing site, an hour away from home, I was called by the company at the same time I went to check in to be told that we could not test due to a "technical error". So having to miss work for myself, and school for my daughter, we were offered a testing date a month later. I was able to strongly insist a sooner date, and they suddenly had the following Monday available (Friday was cancelled). I had also called twice the day before to make sure everything was set for testing, and was told, twice that we were good to go test, obviously not. I found that a lot of extra phone calls were needed to schedule anything close, this was not a convenient experience that the company boasted, especially for the cost. The Next Street

We take full accountability for the testing error on 12/13 and have refunded the $175.00 no-show fee as a gesture of our commitment to resolving the matter. At The Next Street, we strive to make it easy and provide excellent driver education and testing services, and it’s disappointing to hear we fell short in this instance. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us identify areas where we can improve, and we are taking steps to ensure this does not happen again. If there’s anything more we can do to address your concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly at ************. Nextstreet!!! Beware. You go in trusting, but there is a 20% failure rate. If you had success great, but if they told you day one, they would charge you $200 if your child fails, means they take no risk all on you. DMV only charges $40 for test and retests, even if NeXT Street vehicle failed "e-break didn't release", after you paid Next Street training you paid Hundreds of dollars!! when the "DMV training" is free, would you trust Next Street? Okay boy failed need to reschedule should be free, no $200!! Next Street has Zero commitment. My boy can fly planes!! Next Street provided Zero benefit. DMV $40. But Next Street E break didn't release. Next Street don't stand by their guarantee they 'stand by your student". They take know risk they have no obligation. That if their vehicle is not functioning it's at "your cost" not Next street's, make sure the vehicle is working, E-Break works because any issue is on YOU!! They don't take ownership that their "retakes" are so low that they will cover the retake cost. Don't believe their promises. Next Street gives no credit can't talk to a manger and their only option "you can co to DMV" for testing??? My boy can successfully fly a plane. Should have gone to DMV easiest like we did the first time. NEXT STREET THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR WORD. If they have to charge $200 for retakes they do not stand by their work. Be careful I looked on line 20% failure rate. The number of complaints is huge. The Next Street

We strive to maintain respectful and professional communication with all of our customers, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns publicly. However, it’s important to clarify some key points. The student’s road test result was determined by the DMV agent due to a critical error—turning right when instructed to turn left. This decision was made independently by the DMV and was not influenced by The Next Street or the vehicle used during the test. Furthermore, the student participated in only one lesson with us, over four months prior to the test. While we aim to support all students in preparing for success, it is not reasonable to hold The Next Street accountable for this outcome. Regarding the cost of testing with us, the $150 fee covers the use of our vehicle and access to our testing facilities, which provide added convenience for many families. However, it’s important to note that anyone is welcome to schedule and take their test directly at the DMV if they prefer. We have also attempted to address this matter with you directly, but unfortunately, you have not allowed our staff or management to speak with you over the phone without repeated use of profanity and yelling which we do not tolerate. We are here to help and resolve issues, but we ask for mutual respect in all discussions.Review fromLynette P

1 starI had good experiences here before but my third child was targeted by one of the instructors during some online classes. I had to call several times to present my complaint and never got a call back. The actual instructor in the car was great. However, the management here has to be more responsive given the responsibility they should have with students who are minors. I am not sure I could trust this company in monitoring instructors who are dealing with minors in their online classrooms going forward.Review fromEllen R

4 starsI think Cathleen was an excellent driver for me to have and i myself have gone out to make her my driving instructor. She is easy to drive with, talks me through what to do but lets me learn while doing it. Id say she has very good character and she is a very nice instructor to have.Review fromMei S

I have to say I had a great experience for both of my kids going through the next street. We had one complication right before taking the driver's test that the customer service person went above and beyond to have an instructor give our son a 30 minute makeup class before his driver's test. Customer service called a few times into the evening to make sure everything was buttoned up and we knew where to go. She put me on hold a few times but I knew it was because she was trying to make it work. In the end it all worked out and they went out of their way to make it all come together. I really appreciated it.The Next Street

This place is super unhelpful and money-hungry. I missed one driving lesson, so I paid a fee. Second driving lesson the system randomly scheduled me for and I couldn’t change it, but I made it work with my busy schedule. As I was pulling up to the second attempt to do a driving lesson in *********** my university’s police department called me to tell me I lost my wallet on campus and they had it. I was unable to the lesson due to my learner’s permit being on campus. Customer service was super unhelpful and apathetic to the fact I Ubered and had just paid a fee prior. They told me it’s policy and charged me yet another fee. They cut it in half and I had to pay it again. The third attempt I scheduled it and was ready to go. One hour before the driving instructor sent me a fake text from a TextNow number (I know it was her because I saw it on my phone before she dropped me off at home) posing as The Next Street, telling me my lesson was cancelled. I assumed it was real since The Next Street has texted me before. Then, they told ME via email I was terminated from doing any lessons due to “suspicious activity” when it was really their instructors and their shitty customer service. They only refunded me the total of the lessons minus their fee but it took my girlfriend calling multiple times for them to refund the fee. DO NOT GO HERE.The Next Street

*** ****** account was deactivated due to a third missed driving lesson, which resulted in a no-show and unpaid time for our dedicated instructors. It's important to note that **. **** willingly accepted and agreed to The Next Street's Terms & Conditions upon her enrollment. These terms explicitly outline the $80 fee associated with lessons that are not canceled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time. As a courtesy, The Next Street decided to reduce *** ****** second no-show fee to $40.00. However, despite our efforts to accommodate her, Ms. **** failed to attend her third scheduled lesson. The Next Street did not send Ms. **** any cancellation notices. The message she received claiming the lesson's cancellation was fraudulent and not associated with The Next Street. At The Next Street, we have a well-established protocol in place to handle cancellations and reschedule students promptly with on-call instructors, making the use of such questionable methods unnecessary. Consequently, a decision was made to discontinue providing services to Ms. **** to prevent further disruptions and no-shows for our instructors. In the interest of fairness, Ms. **** was promptly issued a 100% refund for the driving lesson payments she made. Additionally, we have generously waived the final $80 no-show fee as a gesture of goodwill. We remain committed to offering quality instruction and ensuring a smooth experience for all our students.Review fromVincent M

1 starLook somewhere else if possible. Deceptive business practices that take especial advantage of 16 year old drivers who are looking to get their license in the state of CT. The Next Street is engaging in deceptive and illegal business practices by charging consumers a separate price depending on the location they choose yet all of their classes are online via Zoom and included driving lessons may not be available at the location you paid for. We paid for a class bundle at their ******* location and paid accordingly. All of their classes are being held online and my daughter is in a class with other young drivers from all over the state who have paid less or more depending on their location. Upon trying to schedule her driving lessons, we quickly found that there are no current lessons held at the ******* location in which we paid for. Driving lessons have to be separately scheduled and locations are scattered all across the state and incur an $80 fee if you are unable to attend and/or have to reschedule with less than 24 hours notice. I am disabled and getting my daughter to her driving classes is difficult and is why we chose a location close to us. Had we been told in advance that her lessons would not be held at the location in which we chose, we would not have signed her up.Review fromRachelle C

1 starI had a terrible experience with this company. They scheduled my daughter for the wrong class, so she didn't qualify to take the Driver's test we had scheduled for the DMV. We are now rescheduling the test. I also paid for a driving lesson that they weren't able to schedule. Fortunately, they refunded the cost of the lesson. The people I talked with in customer service were not helpful. I've wasted hours on the phone with them. I'm thoroughly frustrated and this has delayed my daughter getting her license by several months. I recommend you find someplace else.
