Washington Gas — Where is Your Humanity? For more than 25 years, I have been a loyal Washington Gas customer, faithfully paying every bill without a single delinquency. And yet, after two months of being locked out of my account — despite multiple frustrating attempts to fix the access issues — Washington Gas heartlessly disconnected my service without warning. Imagine waking up in the morning, stepping into the shower, and being hit with freezing water. No notice. No opportunity to correct the problem. Just cold silence from a company that I had trusted for decades. When I immediately called and paid the bil, they coldly informed me that their policy is to reconnect the next day. But because it was Friday, they scheduled my service for Monday — meaning my family would be without heat and hot water for four full days. Is this how you treat loyal customers? Is this the compassion you show to the families you serve? How is it acceptable for a utility company to abandon a family for an entire weekend simply because they refuse to staff adequately or pay for overtime? Where is the human decency? Where is the empathy? Washington Gas, your actions are shameful. You have shown that policies and profits matter more to you than people. SHAME ON YOU, WASHINGTON GAS. SHAME ON YOUR LEADERSHIP.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST. This place needs to be gutted of its customer service and techs.I took Friday off because I was told I had to present for them to turn on the gas. I spent my entire day waiting just for no one to show. I called periodically throughout the day to check the status of the technician and each time the customer service *** assured that a technician was dispatched and on their ****** 5pm an automated call stated a technician was on the way. No one showed up, go figure!Today (Saturday), I received a phone call at 8pm. There was no greeting , the technician said, yeah you called the gas company and proceeded to yell at me because I said yeah yesterday I guess he didnt like that because he was EXTREMELY RUDE for no reason.I wish we didnt have to go through this company, they are absolutely terrible. No protocol in place, just winging and telling people lies!

Its pitch black and we have a ring and were outside with our new puppy! They never were here! This is dangerous the supervisor finally got on the phone and said he was there I said no he wasnt I can send a picture. She said ok Friday unless you trying calling all week! This is dangerous and unacceptable! I have to go through Washington Gas because it is outside! I need someone to help I am very worried

Turned off gas on Saturday night. No gas people work Sunday. I guess that is to punish us? Make it extra painful? It is the slimiest utility action Ive ever experienced. Just pure nastiness. No hot water or heat. They deserve a negative 100 review. And the day, daylight saving day started so we actually got an extra hour with no heat or hot water. So what a bunch of comedians. Owed a whopping $60. Arent monopolies fun? They put on our statement that there are unauthorized gas usage detected at address. WE HAVE LIVED HERE FOR 18 YEARS!! Noticed all the other ZEROS. Yup. Monopoly dont care.

Moving into a house, and have to wait four days to get a technician to come and turn on the gas. OK, fine, cold showers aren't the end of the world. What's absolutely unacceptable is that in order to start service over the phone or online you HAVE TO provide your SSN. Supposedly for verification purposes, as if that verifies anything. They CAN actually create an account using a driver's license number, but only if you drive out to **********, ** and create an account in person. WHAT LEGITIMATE BUSINESS REQUIES A SSN TO BE PROVIDED OVER THE PHONE?!?! This was after I specified that I wanted bills by mail (not email) and yet they still tried to get my email address (and couldn't tell me what they would use it for), and requested that I provide my employer's information. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! This company is an absolute scam. If I had any other options I'd take them. Absolutely disgusted by their business practices.I gave them one star only because it is not possible on this site to give zero stars.

I had a very upsetting experience today with Washington Gas. I had a service appointment set for today with a window of 7am-5pm. I stayed home all day waiting, missing work, and I called several times to check for an update to the timeline, as the day dragged on and no one was coming. By the end of the service window, stressed and frustrated, I called customer service only to be told that the tech noted in the work order that he arrived at 2pm and no one was home! A flat out LIE! I was home all day, and I have ring camera footage to prove no one came to my home. I am furious to have lost a whole day at work and to have been treated so unfairly. I need the tech to check the gas intake into my house before other work can be done on a hot water heater. I have had no hot water for 5 days. To have a tech tell a mistruth to make me look like I was the one who didn't hold up to my end of the deal is so unprofessional.

Washington Gas sent request to access the gas meter in my garage, we set up appointment on July23, 12 - 3 PM. At 2 PM, no one came. I called Washington Gas to check when the technician would come. A lady told me that the technician didn't even put the appointment in his schedule, ask me to reschedule. I felt very upset because I had been waiting from 11 AM, and cancelled all work in the afternoon, he would not even put the schedule in his plan? I told the lady: I could reschedule another appointment, but if this kind ignorance happens again, I would deny any access in the future. She immediately shouted at me: if the meter has any problem, it is all your responsibility! I want to argue, she hanged up.I was shocked by her rude attitude. I called Washington Gas again, talked to a gentleman, after I said "I want to complain the lady I just talked to", in less than 1 minute, the line disconnected, either he hanged up or the system interrupted. I called the number again, another gentleman picked the phone, I just said "complain to the lady who I talked to", the line disconnected. I am sure now that they tensionally disconnected phone.I then sent an email to customersupport, reported the incident. I got response email in one hour, but in the email, no real person name, only "Washington Gas ****************** It says "We are continually working to improve our customer experience and offer superior quality service and appreciate your feedback.", but doesn't mention what they will do. It is obviously a standard letter to fool customers. After 3, the technician called, and came at 3:13 PM. He explained that he was called to treat an emergency, I don't know if what he said is true. However, he should give me a call if it is true to tell he may be later. The lady should have contacted him to check his situation. But all didn't happen. They are irresponsive, rude, and ignorance from the top management to the staffs.

When This was doing Covid, and my bill was not even high to the point where I need to set a payment arrangement plus This was doing Covid Nobody was receiving a cut off notice and why would you cut me off for $70 make it make sense to me. This is a way to get over and to receive back that money that they've lost from every other client. My bill was $156. Now the bill the $600 make it make sense. I've tried to talk them
