1 starGot a night bite guard made with explicit instructions that it had to be thin to match my current device. They took pictures of my current guard to send to the lab to help show what was being requested. Unfortunately, the lab sent back a night guard they felt like a hockey puck - very thick. I tried wearing it but can’t sleep with a puck in my mouth . My insurance paid about $750 and I paid about $240 for an unusable guard. I went back for a re-do and they obliged but when I came to pick it up I was told that I owed $75 even though thus was not explained earlier - and I had no idea what to expect as far as fitting properly. So because I did not want to pay up front for another guard I was told “ we can’t move on” I already paid close to $1000 and still don’t have anything to show for the money given to them. I will be asking for a refundReview fromCheryl H

1 starHello I am putting in a complaint against the billing department at American Dental. I was overcharged for services I got completed on 3/13/24. I had made numerous calls and face visits from date of service 3/13/24 to today's date 6/4/24, Yes almost three months in counting. You are lucky if someone would pick up the line at all. On several occasions, I had to press option(1)to act like I was making an appointment to just to speak with a receptionist. I'm sure the receptionist has been instructed to tell whomever is inquiring about any discrepancies with billing that someone will get to them. I don't know how difficult it is to write a patron a check from the billing department if they are entitled to a refund. The office had no issues with processing the payment whenever you are directed to go to the front desk after work is completed. They will accept your money and request you to process your card through debit only. When I tell you it has been excuse after excuse why billing department has not rectify the situation with refunding my check yet, I am not exaggerating. The line the told me, the dentist provider is out of the country, not in the office right now, your check has been sent out and you should receive by next week. I should have read the reviews before switching over to this practice. I repeat do not mess with this dental office. You will definitely regret it.Review fromKristi O

I had a crown installed and continued to have issues with my bite. I ended up needing to have other molars fixed because of my bite being off for so long. THEY CHARGED ME!!! FOR THEIR POOR WORK CAUSING MORE DAMAGE!!! After a year and 9 months they still couldn't get my bite correct and tried to convince me it was a failed root canal. I saw another dentist who fixed my bite in one visit and I haven't had any issues since. This office needs to be shut down. Over pricing, poor work, rude customer service and absolutely terrible communication. I will never return and I will worn everyone I know.American Dental Care, LLC

I reached out to Ms. O'Neal to address and resolve all her concerns. We have taken steps to rectify the situation. We hope to see her family and her in the near future.Review fromLilian R

The review left by Tracy is very similar to what happened to me, except that while I also have 2 dental insurance plans, I was charged $545 initially for a crown, my one dental insurance paid $520 on the claim, their office did not bill my second insurance, but told me that they did, and I had to pay $2,710 up front which they said I will get back. Unfortunately, they have lost my trust. They owe my sister $664 that she paid up front from May 2023 which her insurance company paid them within one week of the service completed, and she still has not gotten her reimbursement. I call, I write, I visit the office and it's just a big run around. Another friend caught them over billing her for a crown and she did not pay, stood her ground and proved to them they were in the wrong. So, she did not play their game, got her service, and is still in possession of her rightful money. It's a shame because the dental work done is very good. The billing department SUCKS!American Dental Care, LLC

Good afternoon, Thank you for making us aware. Our office policy here is as follows- We give the patient a pre-treatment estimate, at this time we make them aware if the claim is still out to the insurance company at delivery we collect the balance that is due and will add the to the refund list. We go over in great detail the copay out of pocket and what the insurance is planning to pay. At prep date we remind the patient and schedule the inset appointment. 3 day prior to insert we verify status of claim. If the claim is still open we give the patient the option to either reschedule in 7-10 days once payment is received or we have a check number from the insurance company or they can pay and will be refunded. Some patient's agree to pay- with the intent of being refunded within in a week. If we have to appeal the claim or it gets denied it is a little bit longer of a wait. I understand the patient's concern and offer to give them as many options as possible. Thank you.Review fromNick V

I had my first appointment there today. I filled out all the paperwork online on Sunday to get a call on Monday from my boss stating he is getting calls from the dentist for me. I rang them up and enquired why he was getting calls as I filled out the part of my job so why are they calling him and not me which I also filled out for my details. I even had a text from them on Sunday so they definitely had my number. The lady apologised and updated my number. I go there 30 mins early for my appointment tried to login nothing showed up. Spoke to the lady on the reception and was told they tried to call you and got a wrong number so cancelled your appointment. I live in Milford so 30 mins away. The receptionist the took me to another area and asked for my medical card and insurance card. I was standing at the desk for 10 mins being ignored so sat down. I was sat down for another 30 mins then enquired and the young man said sorry we can't get you in today but will have to reschedule. I looked and didn't see you, what he wanted me to stand there for 30 mins, totally incompetent and a place I won't be going back too. When I was there there was another couple complaining about this company I would look elsewhere as many in Dover. I was just registering to get a Dentist will definitely be going elsewhere. VERY POOR COMANY WHO ALL THEY SAY IS SORRY, DON'T BE SORRY DO YOUR JOB CORRECTLY AND THIS WOULND'T HAPPEN.American Dental Care, LLC

If I could give this establishment zero stars, I would. First off, the office staff is very incompetent, unorganized and unprofessional. I was waiting for my appointment for 40 minutes before the receptionist informed me that I will be waiting an additional 15 minutes. At that time, I chose to reschedule. I arrived at my rescheduled appointment on time and waited another 30 minutes before I approached the front desk. The receptionist informed me that the person sitting next to her didn't put my appointment on the calendar and that she was going to try to get me seen today. Well, once again, I didn't have all day to wait; so, I approached the desk again stating that I was leaving and that I needed them to rectify a billing issue. Back in AUGUST 2023 (and this is the end of September), American Dental swiped my card for a little under $200.00. To this date, NONE of the dentists that I scheduled with performed the service. Yes, all I needed was a cavity filled. Instead, each time I returned for my so-called appointment, they would take more x-rays and then tell me they don't have enough time to complete the filling. So, I would reschedule. I have rescheduled this initial appoint from August 15th 3 times and still no filling. And to make matters worse, the $200.00 that they swiped my card for services, were not even performed. I'm now getting a refund of $43 because they charged me for a bunch of x-rays that I didn't need. I am so done with this place. I have never experienced such incompetence and unprofessionalism in my life. After today's failed visit, I was on the phone transferring to another REAL dental practice within minutes of getting in my car because I know that there are plenty of other dental practices that demonstrate competence & good moral/ethical values!American Dental Care, LLC

This patient as seen in our office on 8/22/23. Her claim was denied for a Limited exam. We refunded the patient $47.50, as a Professional Courtesy.
