Complaint Against Navient/Mohela Shortly thereafter, I received a bill in the mail stating that my monthly payment was now $555.00—an amount significantly higher than what I had agreed to under the 25-year plan. Upon calling Mohela again, aI am writing to formally file a complaint against Mohela regarding the handling of my Parent PLUS Loan, originally serviced by Navient. I believe I was misled into signing a loan agreement under false pretenses, which has resulted in an unaffordable repayment plan. Background I co-signed a Parent PLUS Loan for my son, and the loan was initially serviced by Navient before being transferred to Mohela. In 2024, Mohela contacted me and informed me that I qualified for different repayment programs. After reviewing my options, I selected a 25-year repayment plan, which I agreed to. Mohela subsequently began deducting payments from my bank account for approximately five months under this plan. Issue Despite making regular payments, I received a call from Mohela stating that I had not made any payments since June 2024. I explained to the representative that I had enrolled in the 25-year repayment plan and that payments were being deducted from my account. However, the representative claimed that there was no record of my enrollment in the 25-year plan and insisted that I sign antother representative acknowledged that I had initially been enrolled in the 25-year plan but informed me that I did not qualify for it. This strongly suggests that I was misled into signing a different agreement, likely in an attempt to force me into paying a higher amount. Current Hardship The original 25-year repayment plan was presented to me as an affordable option, yet I am now being required to pay an amount I cannot sustain. As a consumer, I feel deceived by Mohela’s misleading information and lack of transparency. Requested Resolution I am requesting that the Better Business Bureau investigate this matter and help . Sincerely, Yvette Brown

I had a credit card with mercury financial. I week ago I had an $8000 limit on the credit card. I was nearly at the $8000 mark at the beginning of a week ago. I made a large payment and went in to my account 2 days later to make another payment and they decreased my credit limit by the same amount I paid two days before. I called them and asked why? they said we periodically review accounts and make changes as necessary. I asked so you're reviewing my credit score and they said we didn't say that. I then asked what and who are you reviewing then? they replied the higher up's in the company. I said ok, is it a mercury employee? they said yes. I went on to make another large payment and the next day they decreased my limit again. two more days went by and I paid off the card. In just 5 days they decreased my credit card limit from $8000 to $800. I've never been an irresponsible card holder and I've had an account with them for 7 years. Now I have only $800 to borrow if I had an emergency and who knows how my that drop in credit limit dropped my credit score when I was making an aggressive effort to increase my score. Mercury has put me and those that rely on my in a terrible place. I would never recommend them or use their company for any services again and am hoping my report helps others that are suffering from the same problem caused by large financial corporations.

This is by far the most awful company. I borrowed 15k in 2003. I paid 4200 of in June of 2023. I got a pay off letter . It was taken off my credit report. A year to the date recieved a letter stating they reopened my case I owe 4200 and they sent the money back. I did not get the money back. They closed my account reopened w a new account getting rid of all my digital proof. I have some letters but now they sent me to litigation . I should not have to pay again. They also can not tell me where they sent the money. SCAM. I'm looking for help and do not know where to turn. Hoping they do not garnish my wages.

why am I paying $1,079.10 on a $157.00 balance and still have 22 payments of $49.50? I've tried many times to pay off this amount but you put more money towards my higher bill.

I won a lawsuit through borrowers defense against The Art Institute Online. My student loans have been forgiven because of that lawsuit. Navient is the loan Servicer. The loan servicer is not returning ANY money paid in for those loans. This is an egregious theft. This company cannot do the right thing. Every time there’s a decision to be made, they choose the wrong one. This company does not deserve to be in business Especially when they’re stealing money from people that a college already defrauded.

Navient is the worst company in the world. They do not care about the person, they just treat people like dogs and could care less about anything else. This is the worst program ever.

Horrible, horrible, horrible company! These parasites will call you at your job all day long, and harass you despite you telling them you are working. Telling them to call after 6:00 p.m. results in crickets. They'll just call the next morning! I wish the whole company would implode, and every single person that worked for them was forced in the unemployment line!

If I could give zero to this company I would. I don't have a loan through this company and never have. I have never heard of this company before but I've gotten messages from my sister in law and my sister about this company contacting them trying to get my information. When I called he person back named David Griffith he was rude to me and tried telling me I accessed their site which I never have. They said they got my families info from public record and turns out they are harassing my family when the person they are actually looking for is a different middle name and age birthday than me. He tried asking if this other person was my mom and throwing out a bunch of names of people not associated with me. He said that the phone numbers of my family are in the same area code as the person they are looking for. My area code covers a quarter of the state. I would file a complaint but I have no money in this company. I don't understand how a company can harass someone who is not associated with their company at all.

Over the last 8 months, my employment situation has drastically changed & I had to switch from making my usual full payments (which are now $700 a month) to Interest-Only payments. Navient repeatedly makes this difficult, & has time after time rejected my Interest-Only payment plans after they have sent me a confirmation that it was accepted. For the month of June, I had to fight tooth & nail to get my payment plan reduced again because my employment situation hasn't & isn't going to change due to my future school endeavors in August (I qualify for in-school deferment & my two jobs can work around my class schedule, so I'm just trying to ride out my finances as best I can). Anyway, last weekend I received an e-mail stating that my payment for July is going to be $1200, despite the fact that I have a fixed interest rate. Come to find out, they rejected my Interest-Only payment plan, saying I was not having financial hardship (it literally stated that in the letter). The funny thing though is that they already took one of my payments for my interest in June, & lo & behold I got an e-mail saying my next Interest-Only payment is due on the date we selected initially. So they are both saying they aren't accepting my payment plan, but still taking my money. I really just want to ask one of the employees why they get to pick & choose what agreements they're going to follow & abide by, but I'm not allowed to at the same time? I literally have a paper trail from them & it doesn't matter a bit.
