  I hired the Emmanuel Funeral Home located in **********, ******* to take care of my mother's burial. My Mom's passed on Friday, September 30, 2022, and the body was picked up by Emmanuel Funeral Home on the same day. The funeral was arranged for October 15, 2022 in *****, *******. I paid $25,000. 000 for a plot for her and her husband and the funeral. Before the wake took place on Friday, October 14, 2022, it came to my attention that the name on the death certificate was inaccurate. The funeral home reported her name as *********************************** ********. ******** was her maiden name, which I explained to the funeral director, ************* explained to me that I needed to provide him a copy of her social security card and driver's license with the correct name (***********************************), which I did prior to the funeral. The funeral was held on October 15, 2022. Since before the funeral, Emmanuel has been stalling to send the amendment to the ******* ********** of ***** Statistics. I have been told several times that the amendment was filed. I have called the ***** every time to check on the status, and they have informed me every time that there were no records of an amendment being filed. I have reported this to all three of the Emmanuel Funeral Homes in South ******* and have asked for their assistance to resolve this to no success. I know that it takes the State 6-8 weeks to make these corrections when they are necessary. Meanwhile, my mother has been in ground for three months with no marker on her as if she is a dead animal. I would like your assistance in resolving this issue. The cemetery cannot proceed with ordering a marker for my mom until the name correction has been done. To my knowledge, this funeral home is licensed by the state to provide this service and a death certificate is a legal document. I am not sure if the delay is due to incompetence or lack of knowledge. I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. Thank you. ***********************
