1 starI would give ZERO stars if that was an option! Run as fast and as far as you can from this unscrupulous practice! We were told our out of pocket payment for an extraction would be over $400. We paid that amount before my husband had the extraction and asked for the accompanying paperwork. We were told once the procedure has been done we would receive it. We never did! We did however receive a bill for over $300 in addition to what we already paid! We have tried numerous times to straighten this out by contacting both the billing office as well as the dental office itself, all to no avail! Our insurance company also tried to contact the practice since they needed to submit further documentation, again no response! This practice is deceitful and employs highly unethical business practices. If that were not enough, my husbands jaw and mouth were brutalized by an unprofessional oral surgeon! Please heed our warning and go to a different practice!Review fromJULIO J G

Hi. I am here to express my disappointment with the Sage Dental office at *********************************, with the front desk and the doctor's assistant. On April 17, 2025, I went for a tooth extraction. The first at the front desk extended to me a tablet, where I was asked to accept the normal agreement for tooth extraction, which I considered also a normal procedure. After being called to the room for extraction and evaluation, after 30 minutes, the DrSubject: Disappointment with Sage Dental Office Experience Hi,I would like to express my disappointment with the Sage Dental office located at ********************************, particularly with the front desk staff and the doctor's assistant. On April 17, 2025, I visited the office for a tooth extraction. When I arrived, the receptionist handed me a tablet and asked me to review and accept the usual agreement for the tooth extraction, which I assumed was a standard procedure. However, after waiting for 30 minutes in the examination room for both the extraction and evaluation, the doctor... I was told it would need over $1500 worth of care because I suddenly had severe signs of gingivitis related issues and would likely need to be referred to an orthodontist for my underwater that has never been an issue before. My husband was given a referral to have a root canal preformed at a different location after being seen for a specific-to-the-area consult, with the understanding on his care sheet that insurance would take care of a good chunk of it just for him to be charged another $300+ consult that somehow wasn't covered by insurance AND then told the root canal he was told insurance would help with in fact would not be covered at all and cost upwards of $2000. Scam, all around. We are out hundreds of dollars for absolutely mediocre care and a scam for his root canal.Sage Dental Management, LLC

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the behavior of the front desk staff member who handles billing and insurance at your Duluth Hwy location. My recent experience at your office was deeply frustrating due to her unprofessional conduct, lack of courtesy, and unwillingness to assist me properly. First, I was charged for my service before it was rendered, which I found unusual. Additionally, I requested my full dental records, but she only sent my X-rays. When I went to the office to pick up the records in person, she refused to provide them, stating she was busy. I waited until the end of the day, hoping she could send them before closing, only to be told there was a 24-hour rule—something she had not mentioned earlier when I first asked. Instead, I was repeatedly dismissed with "I'm busy." Her demeanor was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. Patients should be treated with kindness and respect, and if someone is unable to provide good customer service, they should reconsider their role in a patient-facing position. Due to this experience, I will not be returning to this office, and I am deeply disappointed in the service provided. I hope you take this complaint seriously and address this issue to ensure better treatment of patients in the future.Sage Dental Management, LLC

On December 16, 2024, I did a procedure at Sage Dental of ********** (*****************************) and paid $239.20. On January 15, 2025, my insurance company (Delta Dental) sent us the Explanation of Dental Benefit saying that we should have paid only $138.80. So, I called Delta Dental, and they confirmed that we should have been charged just $138.80. So I called the office to clarify this situation, asking for the refund (of the difference, $100.40), and since that (February), I have been calling, emailing, and leaving messages. With nobody ever replying me back of calling me; or sending a refund. I already spoke with many attendants at this location, left messages, and sent emails; they all promised to "talk to a supervisor and get back o me", and nobody got back to me.Sage Dental Management, LLC

This dentist's office has made the past three months of my life awful. I had x-rays and a cleaning with them in January. In February, they did what they told me was a shallow filling in a molar on my left side, during which, I had to raise my hand for them to stop because it was causing pain. A week later, I returned because of miserable headaches and pain making sleep impossible. The dentist checked that the bite was level and then suggested it was a sinus infection, but did not prescribe any medication. I went on my own to my general physician who prescribed antibiotics and a steroid. After the run of anitbiotics, the pain was not helped, so I returned to Sage Dental and told them the pain was still radiating from the tooth they last filled. They looked back at x-rays from January and saw a wisdom tooth was covered with cavities, saying "Oh, I missed that." then immediately extracted that tooth. They prescribed no antibiotic or pain medication after this. By the evening, the pain was unbearable and worse than before, I called them and the dentist prescribed ******* 3. It did not help either, so I saw my general physician again, who was surprised I had an extraction without antibiotics, and prescribed to me 800mg *********, 500mg *******, and ********* to help with the pain until the matter was settled. I went to a different dental practice who, within 15 minutes, took new x-rays, a bite test, and examined the tooth and extractions site, determining that the filling was actually much deeper than I was told and had damaged my nerve, resulting in my pain and now needing a root canal. They also saw on my records that I was a congential heart disease patient and were shocked that Sage had prescribed no antibiotics, proceeding to do so themselves, adding another for before the root canal. Sage Dental neither took into consideration my medical history, nor did they listen to where I said the pain was and take new x-rays. Do not see this dentist, they will harm you.Sage Dental Management, LLC

Sage Dental when it comes to appointments is a scam and they do not keep them. They change appointment made with out consulting the patient and if you fail to keep it the charge you $75.00. In addition they also make additional appointment with out letting patient know for services not requested for profit . Miss them and your charged also. As far as care goes and the quality of the work they do, I have had no complaints other the the try to get you to do more work ten may be needed to get paid for more by your insurance. This is not in the best interest of the patient since the funds may be needed at a later time for care.Simply put all Sage dental cares about is how much they can steal out of everyone's pocket. Any insurance company that works with them deserves to be screwed ******* ***********Sage Dental Management, LLC

1 starDO NOT go here unless you want to be misled, overcharged, and subjected to unnecessary procedures. I work in the medical field myself and I I deeply regret not reading the reviews before visiting Sage Dental, as I was deceived and scammed like many other users by their unethical business practices. For two years, I was falsely diagnosed with periodontal disease, leading to costly out-of-pocket cleanings that were not covered by insurance. I have been charged over $2,000 for unnecessary services, and Sage Dental has consistently failed to bill my insurance correctly.Last month, they pressured me into an unnecessary and expensive deep cleaning which they stated was necessary for treating my periodontal disease. After this procedure I suffered severe, prolonged pain for over a week which ultimately requiring emergency intervention by another provider. After seeking several additional opinions, several providers later confirmed that Sage Dental misdiagnosed my condition, and their medically unnecessary treatment actually contributed to a serious dental emergency. Multiple second opinions, including from a periodontist, have since confirmed that I did not have periodontal disease and did not need the treatments they pushed on me.The numerous one star ****** and Better Business Bureau reviews for Sage Dental Coral Gables strongly indicate a pattern of questionable billing practices, overcharging, and misrepresentation of medically necessary services similar to my own experience. These consistent complaints from multiple patients suggest that the improper treatment I endured is not an isolated incident but rather part of an ongoing and systemic issue within this practice. This practice has been reported to the state ethics board and is currently under investigation for insurance fraud and malpractice.Review fromReta M

1 starI have been taking my daughter to Dr. ********* (*********************, *********) for many years prior to the business being sold to Sage Dental. He is a wonderful dentist. However, Sage Dental as a business is horrific to deal with and engages in unethical billing ************ daughter attended an appointment there on a day that their computers were being "changed over" and her chart was updated incorrectly following our appointment. Sage Dental then billed our insurance for services that were not scheduled performed and payment was denied as it was not time for her regular 6 month cleaning.I have been trying to get this corrected for 9 months. The last appointment I attended, they told me I was paying for the service ON THAT DATE as they are aware I am contesting the other bill. When I received that EOB, it shows that they charged me $99 more that that service actually cost. When I called they informed me that the money paid was actually put toward the previous bill for the service SHE NEVER RECEIVED or was not SCHEDULED TO RECEIVE.Two months ago I requested line by line bills for a couple dates of service and medical records. I was told that they were sending my requests up the "corporate" ladder. I have received nothing. I called several weeks ago, talked to the billing person who answered, was told the billing manager would call me back, and nothing.I have gone to this dentist for approximately 9 years and never had a problem until Sage Dental took over. I have always paid at the time of service. I could not on this day, since their computers were down. I can understand making a mistake and mis-charting the services due to the computer system being down. I cannot understand not correcting this mistake, especially when her chart shows a pattern of service that explains why she was there on that day.Beware of their billing practices and beware what billing tells you when you are in the office.
