On January 5th i called broward plumbing to fix my toilet. They charged me $401 to fix the toilet. The problem was not fixed. I reported the issue to them and they said they would send someone out to check on it. By the time the technician got here my neighbor alerted me that whatever the plumber did had caused a leak into their apartment. I paid $722.99 to fix the leak in my neighbors apartment caused what the technician did to my toilet in the previous visit. After this i asked them again to send somebody out to fix my toilet. They came out 4 days later to look at it again and told me that i need to buy a new toilet and it would cost me $500 for them to install it. Or i could buy a toilet myself and they would charge me $250 to install it. The problem is i already paid them $1,123 for the whole experience and my toilet is still not fixed.Business Response

My first complaint is that the company has refused to provide me with any invoice or paperwork to justify the $1,337.99 they took out of my bank.I called the company to fix the handle of my shower, which had become very difficult to turn off. I got same day service, and I have no complaint about the job done. It's their business practices that concern me. I talked on the phone to *********************** or something like that. He told me a quick fix would cost about $400, but the problem would likely recur in a couple years. He recommended repairs that involved going in behind the wall and would take about 4 hours, costing about $1,200. I went for the more permanent fix, and they immediately billed my bank for $1,337.99.I was surprised at how quickly the job was done afterwards, certainly not the 4-hour job I was led to expect. I was suspicious that I might have gotten the quick fix despite paying for a major repair, but I have no way of knowing because they have refused to give me an invoice detailing labor and parts, despite several phone calls. I was given no written warranty. The refusal to return my phone calls is in itself a poor reflection on this company, and I hope the workmanship does not turn out to be shoddy.Initial Complaint

On June 4th, I called Broward Plumbing for a leaking garbage disposal, and the owner, *****, quoted me $275 on the phone to replace the disposal. The tech showed up on June 5th, and said that the disposal needed to be replaced and he had to run out and buy one. While he went out to get the disposal, the owner called to tell me it would now be $475. I knew this was overpriced immediately because new disposals cost around $130 at the store, but I agreed to it anyway since I was dealing with a flooded kitchen, and several other personal issues all going on at once. I asked ***** if that price included everything, and he said, yes, so I said fine. He sent me an invoice for $475.00 and I paid it while on the phone with him. The tech came back and replaced the disposal, and spent about a total of 20 minutes on the whole thing. He had to remove my dishwasher in order to plug the disposal into the power socket, and put the disposal back slightly crooked. I didn't notice until a week later, when I checked my credit card statement, that he actually charged my credit card $520.99. When I called ***** on June 12th, he said it was 7% tax, but that's still too high and not the right amount. I also told him that it's not listed on the invoice, which taxes and fees should be included on all invoices. He said that he was just going to refund me the difference of $45.99, so I said that was fine, but he needs to put taxes and fees on his invoices going forward for all customers. He then said he'd refund me everything because he didn't want me complaining and leaving bad reviews. So I waited more over a week, but never received the refund for the difference. I called ***** again on June 21st, and asked him what happened to the refund he promised me, and he acted like he never heard of me before. I went through the whole conversation and chain of events again, and he said he'd only refund me $11.75 for the over taxation. That amount isn't even correct based on 7% tax that he said.Business Response

On December 30, 2022, I had a broken CPVC water supply line in my bathroom. I called Broward plumbing for an emergency repair. A gentleman answers the phone, I explain my situation to him. He gave me an estimated $200 - $500 to repair the ****** Also, if the tech cannot repair the tile without removing the tile and opening the wall the repair cost will amount to over $1000. I said Ok. Sent the tech over to the house. He then explained to me to send a tech to do the repair, the company requires a credit on file and a non-refunded fee of $199 will apply if I refuse service. If I agree to do the repaid the $199 deposit will go toward the repair. When the tech arrived, I show him the pipe. He asked to borrow a wrench. He replaces the broken pipe with a 1/2 PVC pipe and use PVC cement (picture attach) to seal the pile on the wall. The tech never opens the wall. The repair took five minutes. I asked the tech for an itemized receipt; he told me the office will send it. After waiting for an hour, I log into Chase to check my credit card, and I noticed a charge of $1337.99. I called the company and informed them I was quoted between $200 - $500 for the repair. I need an itemized receipt to show the breakdown of the $1337.99, they informed me that he will be emailing me and that my credit card will be refunded, but to this day I have not received any refund or itemized receipt from Broward bumping. I call my Chase on 12/31 to file a claim, Broward plumbing call me and left me a voice on 1/5/23 to inform me that they have proof they did the repair, and the dispute will not be resolved. On the same day 1/5/23, Broward ran my credit again without authorization and charge my card for $1037.00 (CC transactions attach) I filed a claim for both charges and Broward pluming refused to email me the itemized receipt or process the refund. This is to prove how shady this business is. They send a square POS receipt (attach) as proof to Chase, not the itemized receipt. I need my refund of $10377.99.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I Have written confirmation from ******* ********** manager for Broward plumbing. She agreed to refund me $1037.99 via Zelle (Please see attached text message screenshot). This company is a scam because ******* kept offering me cash or a check, I told her that I was not comfortable with these options. I told her to Zelle me or call the merchant processor to refund the money to my credit card, but she did not want to deal with the merchant processor who handles the dispute. Instead, she agreed to refund $1037.99 via Zelle. Then, I asked her to email me a written communication that I am not liable for the $1037.00 that was charged to my card on 1/5/23. I thought ******* and I had an understanding, and the case was over with. However, on 3/10/23, ****** from Broward Plumbing calls, she informed that she was the general manager. She refers to herself as the problem solver. She told me that she was not happy with *******; therefore, ******* is no longer with the company. Throughout the phone call, she shared lots of misleading information with me. ****** claims to be the General Manager of Broward plumbing, but she does not know who their merchant processor is and how to contact them. She kept offering me cash. I could tell from her delivery that she had no intention of finding a resolution.I told her to Zelle me. She agreed. ****** informs me that I will receive the Zelle payment by 7 pm on 3/11/23, but as of 3/13/23, I have not received any funds from Broward Plumbing. This is a shady company. I dont think that Broward Plumbing wants to resolve this case.
Best Regards,
Sincerely,
