I've been attempting to get a refund on advance pay and they are literally making it impossible to be able to keep funds. I've been in communication more than 10 times and each time they say something different I need to provide. They have promised a call within 24hrs each time I call but no one ever calls back. I sent them my name, phone, email and pass code as well as inmate name, *** and last location but they continue to fail to respond to refund request or call. I tried to sign up to global tel link to talked to a loved one in jail on March 3rd. This website pops up and portrays there self like Global Tel Link. They have you set up an account and put in your information just to charge your card $49.99 without your consent. This amount is not posted during the making the account process. Then when you try to cancel your account with them you cannot talk to a representative and when you email they correspond with still trying to sell their product, not refund you, or cancel your account! They try to dispute your refund by saying there is a $20 non refundable fee found in the terms and conditions. However, they do not give you the option to check the box fr terms and conditions because the website automatically has it checked. This company is a total scam and I have yet to receive my refund !Business Response

I have called multiple times to correct the issue of GTL not connecting my call to my incarcerated loved one despite hitting #5 as the prompt. They keep blaming the prison for not connecting which is complete poppycock. Calls from mine and his account are not connecting. This is robbery as we pay for a service we unfortunately we can't use the due to GTL not fixing the issue. I know there are plenty of others experiencing the same thing and they had multiple lawsuits regarding ripping people off and ***** business practices. It's disgusting & distasteful of a so called business to capitalize on the misfortunes of their customers while not providing service!Business Response

I was signing up for a company global tell link and for my little brother to make calls to me this company after entering my email said thatmy charges were declined to try back in five minutes so I deleted the app. They kept my banking information and tried nine times until they charged me 4999 which was not authorized by me. It is fraud. I did not give them the authority to charge my bank card I continuously told them that and theyre refusing to refund my money. This is fraud. They are stealing from people or from me and I spoke with my bank and it is still pending because they triedover several times to charge me until they were successful today and I contacted them immediately and theres no resolution. On 12/29/24, I came across this website online when I was trying to locate the site to add money to an inmate's phone account. My brother was arrested, and then let go after a couple of days, but while he was there I was trying to add money to his phone account. I located this site and feel as though it is very misleading in what it presents to consumers. The price listed was $49.99 for 3 months of service which was interpreted as inmate calling services. I paid $49.99. There's not a notification on the site for consumers warning that they are not GTL, to use to add money to an inmate's phone, so I feel as though it is fraudulent. I would not have signed up had I known it wasn't the correct site. I called to request a full refund I contacted them on 12/31/24 to request the account to be termed due to him being released and due to the account not being used, I asked for a full refund. I received an email that they would contact me within 48 hours to inform me of the outcome of my credit request being researched. I was never contacted so I emailed them again on 01/15/25, but never received response or refund. So, I called and gave them all of the info they request to confirm my account, then they told me they would refund my money, but instead tried to deduct more money out of my account in the amount of $30. Was told I would get a refund within 5 - 7 days, but it would not be for the full amount only $19.99. I asked for and deserve the complete $49.99. Then they sent an email asking me to stay instead of terming. I would like and deserve a full refund due to the misleading information, due to being lied to, and due to them trying to take additional money out of my account. What they're doing is complete fraud, and each time you contact them they do not term or give refunds, but take more money out instead of giving you a refund. After filing this complaint with the BBB yesterday, and after previously requesting for my money to be refunded and my account with them to be cancelled, they had the audacity to try and take another $49.99 out of my account yesterday evening. Its unbelievable to me that they continue doing this even after theyve been proven as being frauds and have been reported to the BBB. Now I cannot access my bank account with my debit card and have to wait for a new card. I feel as though they need to be criminally charged for all of the fraud they have been doing.Customer Answer

The first picture is where I logged into my account online on 12/31/24 and requested to terminate services and requested a refund. This is the reply I was given after going through the process cancellation process.
They never contacted me regarding a refund so I waited patiently, then reached out to them on 01/15/25 to follow up.
I wanted to attach the additional information to show proof that theyre doing fraudulent acts and they need to be held accountable for their actions.

I am rejecting this response because they clearly did not try to refund the money but tried to withdraw money again even after I have asked them to cancel and issue a refund. Due to them continuously trying to withdraw money from my account my account has been closed by the bank and I am furious because now I have to go through and get everything changed and reset up my bills that I have on automatic payments. I am rejecting this response because my bank account was made inactive due to the continuous fraud from this company. They have said that I would get a refund, but only took money from my account. They even did that on the day I initially filed the claim with the Better Business Bureau, and due to that it is their fault my account/card was made inactive to stop the fraudulent withdrawals. So, they will need to MAIL me the refund because theres no other way for them to access that bank account. Also, show transaction information and/or proof that a refund was attempted by them, &/or denied from my bank. I will provide that to my bank to see if this is true and see if they can offer another suggestion. I believe since they caused my card to be canceled due to their continuous fraud that they should mail me a refund. Also, what is the refund amount that I can expect to receive? The entire amount for reimbursement of the fraudulent amounts that have been taken from my account, I hope.

2.2.2025 was the date, my loved one called from a federal correction institution after finally being able to call. 12/21 I was charged ***** by global ****** who is mimicking global tel Link, an inmate calling service. They sponsor ads on ****** to make themselves the top search preying on vulnerable people by being deceptive. They provide a phone number that does not work for the intended purpose they claim.
