The account was assigned to our office June 29, 2022.  Since then, we have never talked to ****************** or received any correspondence from him until this.  Not even a dispute through the credit bureau.  He does not have a contract with our office because we were hired by the company that he owes money to.  The account is for past due maintenance fees and real estate taxes owed to *************************** Owner's Association.  We will send him verification of debt to the address above.

I have noticed that some of my mails were not coming to my address anymore since my mailbox had been ransacked while I was out of town last January. Then upon receiving my credit report last February, I have discovered addresses that I never resided and accounts that I never opened. I filed a complaint with the Post Master to curb my mail from being sent to all of these fraudulent addresses & contacted the creditors to make them aware of the breach. I also found this account that I believe not mine:Acct name: 05 ************************** OA acct no. ****************date opened 11/02/2020 balance $2,831.00 I am not liable for this debt and I do not have a contract with:Company: ASPEN NATIONAL COLLECTIO Address: POB **************************************** Tel No: ************** FTC Affidavit is attached with this complaint together with dispute letter sent to the bureaus and the authorization for release of information. I also filed complaints thru CFPB. Please delete this account from my credit report at once. Any questions or concerns I can be reached at ***************************************************************** and email at [email protected] need a response from the company.

The account for *************************** and ************************* was assigned to our office November 2, 2020.  The account is for past due maintenance fees and real estate taxes for a property they owned at Grandview Resort in *********.  We were hired by the management company for the owner's association to collect on the past due fees.  We have sent letters and tried to call (we had ************ which was confirmed by multiple online sites) with no response.  We did answer a previous dispute of hers with a copy of the contract signed by both parties, explaining that the contract itself had been cancelled, however, the fees owed to the owner's association had already accrued and were due up to the time of cancellation.  We will send an updated breakdown with another copy of the contract to her current address.  Should she contact our office and pay the account off, we would be willing to remove the item from her credit history.

The 2 accounts are for the contract and the past dues owed for a campground membership.  The accounts were placed for collections March 25, 2022.  They do not have a contract with Aspen because no one has a contract with the collection agency hired to collect from them.  We have only spoken to ************** once and he hung up on us.  We have never spoken to or received correspondence from **************************  We have never had a dispute through the credit bureau for either of them.  We will mail them verification of the debt and note the accounts as disputed for their credit report.

      Hello,

We have attached a copy of the contract showing Careena as a co-xer on the contract.  The account was assigned to our office for past due maintenance fees that all owners are responsible for.  She does not have a contract with Aspen because no one hires a collection agency to collect from themselves.  We will send verfication of debt to her address for her records.

      Resolved
I reached out to Aspen National Collections after it appeared on my credit report. I explained during COVID I filed for a divorce from my husband and the timeshare was awarded to him. It was explained, in order to not be liable for the timeshare debt anymore I will need to be removed from the deed, which I verified I was removed. I also understand that collection letters have been sent to my residence that I once shared with my ex, however, as advised by my attorney, any mail received with my ex's name listed or listed first (as with these letters), I was not to open them because it would be tampering with my ex's mail and was told to give it to my ex immediately. My ex never shared that there was a collection for this or I would have taken care of it so it would not impact my credit and what I can do for my daughter going to college. This is why I was not aware it was in collections. When I called I offered to pay the balance and would resolve it with my ex later on. I asked if they could remove it from my credit since I was taking care of it even though it was awarded to the ex in the divorce and they are not willing to help me. I have a daughter that is in college and this impacts what loans I can get to pay for her classes next year because it is on my credit. ** told me he could not do this for me, however I find evidence here that they do provide the courtesy of removing it for others. Why am I being ostracized form this courtesy. The way this company discriminates by picking and choosing who they will provide the courtesy of removing it from their credit is absolutely unacceptable. ** does not care about others and is very rude. He didn't care what the circumstances were, but clearly provides courtesies to others based on his bias opinion of their circumstances or his opinion of you when you call. I am a teacher and a single parent with no assistance from my ex, I am doing my very best to provide my daughter with the education she disserves and now can't.

As a courtesy, if the account is paid in full, we will remove it from **********'s credit history.  She needs to keep in mind that the fees for this property for 2023 are not included in this balance and it will only be another ***** days before those are turned over to collections as well.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. It has been paid in full 05/05/2023. I would appreciate if Aspen would contact me before "the fees for this property for 2023 are turned over to collections as well" (as stated by ASPEN), so I can make sure they are taken care of before the are reported to my credit.

      Sincerely,

      *********************************

They are charging people interest when the actual company who they are collecting for charges interest so you are pay 2 different interest on one account!!

      Business response

      04/04/2023

Our company charges interest as allowed based on state laws that limit the rate for collection agencies.  The rate on this account was 5.5% and accrued a total of $19.69 over 8 1/2 months the account was with our office.  We only charge interest on the principal balance assigned by our client.  We have no control over what our client is doing internally while an account is with our office.  As a one time courtesy, we will remove the account from your credit history.

The account has been in our office since 2019.  The account is adjusted up annually by our client because no effort has been made to pay the account.  It is for maintenance fees and real estate taxes on a deeded property in *******, **.  We last spoke with the consumer in October, 2022, and offered to remove the item from her credit if it was paid in full.  She indicated she would talk to the other 3 parties involved and get back to us.  We have not heard from anyone since.  We are able to be reached at ************ if she would like to discuss the account.  We have tried to reach her at the number she called us from in October, but no one ever answers.  The balance will most likely be adjusted up again in a few months for this year's fees if it is not taken care of soon.

I was a victim of false impersonation. I assumed everything had been cleared up over the past year. However, I still have an unknown collection account on my credit from a company called Aspen. It is apparently for a timeshare. I wasn't even sure what a times share was until I looked it up. I have never had a timeshare in my name, nor have I ever allowed for anyone else to do so. I am requesting the unknown account and its payment history be removed from my credit. I have reached out to this company several times in writing, and I have not been successful in getting a response. The sad part is that is does not show an account number on my credit. It's just state it's a joint account. It's a collection account that is not past due and the creditor is **************************

      Business response

The account for Grandview Resort at ********* owner's association was initially placed with our office June 19, 2019.  We made several attempts to reach the consumer and finally spoke with him January 17, 2020, on the same phone number provided with his complaint.  He indicated the property was purchased with *************************** and that the other party had agreed to pay the maintenance fees.  He even provided a number to reach them, which we have tried with no success.  We have never received anything from **************** in writing concerning this account.  If he would like to send ** something he can easily reach ** at ********************************************************; Our address does appear on the credit report as well.  If the account is paid in full, we would be willing to remove the item from his credit history.
