I used Art Plumbing, AC and Electric to enlarge my AC intake and rebuild the return box. The job cost $2,550 and was done on May 5th, but not completed. I received an invoice but knowing they were coming back to finish the job I chose not to pay the invoice. The following day, May 6th, ******************************************************** full. Two and a half months later, after several techs have come to "finish" the job it is still not completed. In the last two weeks they have not shown up for two appointments, called to reschedule two more the day of the appointment and called after my service window on another. I have been waiting over 75 days since I paid my invoice in full for this job to be completed and today was the 5th missed appointment in the last two weeks. Several technicians have been to my house to finish the job but none had the necessary equipment or resources to finish the job.Since this job was completed I have asked to speak to Supervisors and have accommodated every appointment time that Art proposed in an effort to work with their schedule and get my work completed.I would not recommend this company to anyone based on the horrible service I have received and the run-around they have given me for the last 75+ days and counting.

After having a tech out for an AC service call on July 6, the tech recommended a valve to make the repair. He had to order the valve and told us hed be back after the weekend to make the repair. He had me prepay $998.50 for the job and I havent been able to get anyone to call me back with an update. They hire employees as a call service so you cannot speak with anyone directly. You can only request a call back and after ****************************************** my money back.

I just had a new system installed less than 2 weeks ago and yesterday it stopped working completely. When I called the company, the earliest they could give me was Wednesday!! Thats unacceptable. Now just to backtrack a bit, from the day they installed it, I contacted the company multiple times to let them know that I was not happy about how loud the inside unit was sounding. Till this day, I have never received a call back. I also spoke to ******* who called me about getting my unit inspected and advised him of the issue, and he said he would escalate!! Guess what? Nothing again. Now today, (Monday 7/10) my ac is not working and I am stuck in a house that is too unbearable to live in.I contacted the company via phone and emailed them and they expedited a tech to come out on tuesday morning (7/11) instead. A technician named **** came out to my home around 1:30 and told my husband that the motor inside the air handler just stopped working. He said that he had never seen a motor go so fast and he doesnt have that motor, they would have to order it. I advised him that that was completely unacceptable and that the least the company could do was help us with a portable AC for my home until the piece arrives. He told us that he would do his best to get a portable AC out to us as soon as possible. He called my husband and said that he would be bringing 2 portable ac's until the piece arrives. I received a text message at 5:57 PM (7/11) stating that ********************* was on his way to my home. I sat in my car with my husband and daughters with the ac on and ate our dinner while we waited for ******. 7:41 PM and I called the company and rep **** said that it has to be a mistake because all tech's had gone home. Two weeks ago I paid almost $10,000 for a unit that is clearly malfunctioning. Last night I stayed at a hotel. If this is like this 2 weeks after a purchase, what will it be like 2 yrs from now? I do not want a motor replacement! I want a replacement of unit!

Art replaced the a/c unit in our condo on 2.22.23 we paid in full that day. Part of the agreement was they would handle the permitting process. We don't live in our condo full time so we scheduled the inspection with the city the next time we were in town on 5.30.23. The unit failed inspection and the inspector noted specific steps to be taken before the job could be approved. We had to wait until we were in town & scheduled the repair for 6.27.23. The tech was to arrive at 9 am. He didn't arrive at 9 & after several ************** the tech finally arrived at 4pm. He was unsure what corrections needed to be made but finally got to work. Before he left I looked at the drain pipe which was a specific correction that needed to be made, noticed it was leaking & pointed it out to the tech. He did a few more things to the pipe, said it would be fine and the city inspector was scheduled to review the changes 6.29.23. On the morning of 6.29.23 we awoke to water all over the floor and water damage on the ceiling bc the unit leaked. The inspector pointed out corrections that the tech had missed & needed to be corrected along with the obvious leak. The tech fixed the leak and made additional corrections but I haven't heard from the company AT ALL, complete silence, since 6.29.23 despite repeated **************. The company also replaced the electric panel in November 2022 & damaged the drywall. They indicated they would repair that damage after the permitting process was completed but those repairs haven't been addressed either. We paid in full approx $9k for the a/c & panel. We have no idea if the a/c unit has passed inspection and the company is obviously unwilling to address the damage caused by the negligence of their technician and have stopped communicating with me even though these jobs haven't been completed. We will have to make those repairs ourselves and want to be refunded for the damage, the inconvenience, our time, *******************

      Complaint: 20286767

I am rejecting this response because: one of the main problems was the lack of communication.  There was a day in the spring of 2023 when I was getting calls from a city inspector who was at the condo to inspect the electric panel along with an Art technician and because no one from Art had cleared the date with us first since we don't live there full time or even let us know the appointments had been set up, we were not there.  This could have resulted (but thankfully didn't) in a fine or charge from the city as clearly stated on the permitting paperwork.  There was a lack of communication on June 27th when I made plans to be in town for the a/c corrections to be made and the tech, *******, was supposed to be there at 9 am and didn't arrive until 4:30 pm and all the next day as a new technician had to fix the damage caused by ***************  In fact, no one responded to me AT ALL about any of my concerns after June 27th despite my calls and emails until I filed this complaint on July 7, 2023, which the company didn't respond to until July 28, 2023.

For these reasons, and as stated in my complaint, we will have to make the repairs ourselves to the ceiling for the water damage caused by the Art technician, *******, when he was to be making corrections on the a/c and for the drywall damage incurred when the electric panel was being installed. We are not interested in spending any more time trying to communicate with the company to schedule any more visits because frankly, we have no faith that anyone in the company will consistently communicate with us.  I included photos in my original complaint but have attached again.  Please let me know if you don't get them.

We have paid your company somewhere in the neighborhood of $12,000 for replacing the electric panel, air conditioner and water heater.  We would like a refund of $1,000 as we will have to make those repairs ourselves and should be refunded for the damage, the inconvenience, our time- both for the repairs and for dealing with the late technician and the technician who needed all of the next day to fix the problems with the a/c that caused the leak- and the effort and materials needed for the repairs.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

On March 17 2023 art plumbing was scheduled to start working on my ac ductwork. After they arrived and assessed the job.Previously quoted and approved for financing. They determine that the job needed to be rescheduled. They left an taped piece of ceiling that was cut to check the ductwork from the inside to the roof where the ac unit is.Also they open a hole in the ductwork on the roof and applied some kind of cement or sealer to cover it.After that they left and told me someone will call me to reschedule the job. April 7 2023 They told me they will come back to do the job. They didn't show up. After calling the estimator a couple of times he finally answered me and said. The job was canceled due to some part of the roof was not quoted and therefore they would not do the job. Then financing company was calling me to let ne know the job was approved by art plumbing and they were notifying me to be ready to send payments. Which after talking to art plumbing they agreed to advise the financing company that the job was canceled. Clearly there was aack of communication within the two companies. Now after all this heavy rain over the past few weeks I noticed rhat there a leak coming from the ductwork that they opened, and the fiber glass is wet. I called them to let them know about this and they said they will call me back. I don't know when?I'm afraid that with all this bad weather coming up in the next few days I will have more water coming into my house. Please I need help I don't know if water made some damages in the ceiling or any other place. If the fiber glass get wet will dry or it will have some mildew growing up?I need assistance with this process. This company was referred by homedepot. They are one of their contractors who work with them.

Had an A/C unit for 10 months, went out on me, had a service for Friday and was told they can't make it and have to come tomorrow, it was 91 degrees in the house with 4 dogs. Came out on Saturday and found out that it was a clog in the unit, have a warranty that is only for parts, had to pay for the service which in my opinion, shouldn't have.

      Business response

      06/21/2023

      Dear ********************,

Regarding your 10-month-old AC unit, we identified a clog in the system caused by a dirty drain line. Although your unit is covered by warranty, it solely applies to parts and excludes service for the drain line after the initial 30-day period. Initially, our manager extended an in-house credit of 50% off the job's price, which you accepted on a recorded line. However, you subsequently changed your stance and issued a threat to file a formal complaint unless the entire amount was credited back to your credit card. If you wish to have further discussions on this matter, please contact us at ************.

SCAMMERS!! One of many things we purchased from Arts is a Rheem smart water heater, they sold us the product and service. 9 months after this $5k+ purchase and service from Art Plumbing, our smart water heater started sending us multiple warning to both our mobile phones mutliple times throughout the day and an alarm was going off on the unit itself. We called Arts, they came out and basically said oh, ignore that, that just happens reset the unit and done. The one of two was ready to leave, convincing us it was that simple reset and done, no charges. Outside the second guy was screaming to the first as he was waling toward the car to leave. He found A PUDDLE, it was raining and htere were puddles all over the neighborhood. But they call the home owner out, and pointing at the puddle, homeowner mentions this has nothing to do with the water heater way on inside of house AND it just rained. Contractor NO NO, look at this tool im putting in the water, it means you have a leak and this could ruin your water heater and more. As the conversation went on, they got us for almost $1,100, left, and within hours on the same day - alarms start blowing up again on the water heater and our phones. The contractors at Arts didnt even both to support their own work that is under warranty. Yet they invented a lie to get us to give them $1,100 completely unrelated. We know nothing about heating / cooling, gay couple, perfect victims. Another expert came next day to review the work they did for $1,100, they said 1. this work was absolutely not needed, and 2. If we were to have called him for the exact work it is a $200 job for parts and services. They pressured us and convinced we needed this wasted work. We contacted Art, and they to this day will not let us speak with a manager or owner, even after asking they said well have them call you back, Ive since called the manufacturer direct, under warranty they had it fixed free with other local business (to be used now on).SCAM

I called a plumber to come out to my 82 year old grandmothers home on Thursday 2/23. I spoke with ***** at the office and was I was physically there when *****, the service tech got to her home. It was a 15 minute fix. He showed us the price of $244 because they charge by the hour regardless. I sent a screenshot of the price to my mother and said wow plumbers make this much for 15 minutes Im changing jobs.I had to go pick up my son, so as ***** was packing up and had already confirmed the price, I left while my grandmother got her checkbook. I was gone for not even 5 minutes and she calls me hysterically crying. Within seconds of me leaving, ***** told her it was now $640 and he wouldnt leave until she paid. She was terrified and wrote the check. She was absolutely hysterical for 2 days over this and is afraid he is going to come back because he knows where she lives.I have a picture of the original price, and footage of him on the ring camera showing he was there for 15 minutes in and out. When my grandmother called ***** back to report this, her response was well, you paid and hung up.I have called this business at least ten times since Thursday evening and no one will call me back. This is an absolute disgrace and criminal behavior. They should not be allowed into peoples homes.

I am rejecting this response because:

      Hello Sir,

Please Note that the last communication from company identified an existing issue with sealing and potential for water leakage in future through unit wall by condenser motor.

The critical issue is water leakage from air-condition unit from top of my house that was not installed properly since new installation.

Please see below service comments from last visit on 11/23/2022 and no one visit after this service, I am suspecting that because of water leakage by condenser motor, motor was damaged and need to be replaced. I attached below visit invoice for your reference.

My basic request is either seal the unit properly so there is no leakage during heavy rain and need to get warranty/assurance for no more water leakage due to installation. Another option is to replace entire unit with new one warranty is extended and .

They are trying to do bait and switch by offering a service and then even though we never received any service from them they send me an email w my recording attached threatening to put a lien on my home for $120 leak detection that they never did. I have never in my life had to interact w a company where they are aggressively threatening you for $120 that they are trying to forcefully get when they provided no service. Its insane. I need them to remove any so called charge they are trying to justify because they did nothing and stop harassing me and threatening me.

Please note that on December 13, 2022, our accounting department did send you an audio copy of everything that was stated in this response. We are unsure as to why you have sent this complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
