I took a loan from BHG several years ago and am current and making payments monthly. I do not receive regular statements from this company so I called to request my current balance on approximately 1/05/2024. I was given a balance and sent via email an amortization schedule. After receiving the amortization schedule I noticed the balance and dates did not align with the balance I was given over the phone. I called them again on 2/5/24 to address the fact that the balance I was told was not consistent with the dates or amounts on the amortization schedule. I was told by a representative that they are not allowed to give balances over the phone per their policy. She also told me that I could only access my balance via the amortization schedule which was incorrect. When I told the representative I was previously given the balance and that I have been given the balance in the past before that, she told me they still were not allowed too and I would need to reference the amortization schedule. At this point I feel I cannot trust what this representative is telling me as the numbers clearly did not align on this schedule with what I was told, I was given balances before so I could create an accurate budget, as well as I find the lack of transparency for the money I owe to be completely unethical and potentially illegal. I have never heard of a financial institution not allowed to give you the amount you owe after verifying your identity. I also find this to be shady business practice to conceal the amount owed which lacks trust. Telling me as a customer to refer to a document that is observed to be inaccurate is not quality business practices.

In reviewing our records, due to the customer executing a settlement agreement the balance was inaccurate which is why the customer was offered the amortization schedule which provided the updated payment plan and accurate account balance. A representative from BHG reached out to the customer by phone on 2/5/2024 to provide the current balance as requested. Should the customer need further assistance, they can reach out to our ****** Services Team at ************.

BHG commercial loans should be criminal. I worked with BHG to secure a loan about 2 years ago to consolidate personal debts. They knew EXACTLY what I was borrowing the money for and that I did not own or plan to open any kind of business. Regardless, they assured me I didnt need to own a business or open a business and I am now locked into a commercial loan with them with a ridiculous interest rate and full payment lock out period. Recently I had some personal issues that required me to rethink finances. I contact BHG (email seems to be their preferred method) to request a furlough but they said the only thing they could do for me is change my payment date. When I told them to stop auto pay and give me their mailing address to catch up (my situation is temporary) they refused indicating they do not take payment via any other method and since my loan is commercial they could not turn off autopay. I have since emailed them 3 separate times asking for a copy of my contract and called foul and their refusal to not cease taking money for a commercial loan from my personal checking account. They have yet to respond!!! I cannot access my loan on linethere is no way to pay online.there is no way to contact them other than email (if you call you leave a message to which they respond with an email). Something is very off with this situation and I am not sure where to turn for help. If nothing else, I want others to understand what this company is all about. At this point I am convinced they are a predatory lender, disguising personal loans as commercial to beat the system.

We have reviewed the complaint (BBB #********)submitted by the customer and sent to ********************** on 1/19/2024. *** takes customer complaints seriously and is committed to providing timely and accurate responses.

*** understands the Borrowers concerns and is always willing to explore if there are opportunities to help our customers in need. ***s ****** Services Manager made multiple attempts to contact the Borrower by phone to address their concerns, but was unable to reach them so a follow up email was sent. The Borrower is encouraged to follow back up with ***s ****** Services Manager or they can reach out to our Award-Winning ****** Services Department at ************ for further assistance.

*** strongly disagrees with the Borrowers claims regarding our business practice with respect to commercial and consumer loans. As outlined in the paragraphs below, our records evidence that the Borrower understood and acknowledged that this loan was for business purposes. Moreover, *** maintains very strong controls to ascertain, verify and document the loan purpose to ensure borrowers are routed the appropriate product and provided with all applicable disclosures. As evidenced in the documents provided, on July 21, 2022 the Borrower, ********************************** d/b/a **********************************, Sole Proprietor funded a commercial loan with business development as the use of funds. *** has numerous controls in place to validate the use of funds provided to us by the applicant and to establish all funding requests are properly routed to the appropriate loan product. These controls are evidenced by the following documents associated with this commercial loan.

Statement of Intended Primary Purpose of the Loan: Signed and dated on July 21, 2022 where the Borrower acknowledged applying for a commercial loan with *** and lists the specific business reason for this loan as Business Development.

Personal ACH Form: Signed and dated on July 21, 2022 where the Borrower acknowledged the use of a personal bank account listed for business transactions and authorized *** to ACH and/or wire funds for the business purpose loan to the account listed.

Verbal Verification of Funding:On July 21, 2022 and just prior to closing a representative of *** performed a verbal verification with the Borrower. During this phone call, the Borrower confirmed multiple terms of the loan including, the loan is a commercial transaction, the Borrower responds correct. When asked if the funds borrowed were being used for business purposes, the Borrower responds they are. The *** representative closes by asking if they understand everything, and the Borrower responds I do.

I am rejecting this response because the lender knew full well what the money was being used for and that I do not and will not ever own a business. Further - my complaint was more specific to their flat out refusal to stop auto deducting from my PERSONAL checking account, which is not addressed.

After filing the complaint, I discovered others have the same opinion (pending lawsuit). Further, the lenders refusal to assist in a time of need is evident if their business practices. Finally - the lender called me once. I was working. I responded to their email.

      Sincerely,

Please refer to the link below from Transunion that provides clarification between a soft inquiry and a hard inquiry. BHG shows up as a soft inquiry (which only you can see) which happens when a company like BHG receives information from Transunion to make an offer of credit. Please note, a soft inquiry does not affect your credit score.

We get 8x11 size manilla envelope mailings from this business 3x a week. This is extremely wasteful, and the business provides no option to turn off the firehose. As another member noted here in BBB, we will never do business with this company based solely on this bogus business approach. Please stop this ASAFP and reconsider wasteful policies. Think in terms of personal interactions - would a potential client be more or less likely to respond if you called them three times a week, or would they think you are wildly inappropriate and maybe call the cops?

I received a loan from BHG in late summer 2020 for ******. After paying 580 dollars for 3 years, amounting to ******. I inquired about access to my balance and was told I couldn't access my account. Long story short after halting payments, I was given an account summary. After 3 years of making payments, I was quoted a payoff more than the original borrowed amount. ******! They attempted to talk me into refinancing, who would do that under these circumstances? Not only did they not disclose the true details of this loan, but they also now say I received a commercial loan for a business I don't have. I offered to settle for a lump sum and instead of accepting that, they filed a suit against me in a state i don't reside in. Informed me by private courier 40+ days later, telling me I had 30 days to respond. But in this document, they now say I only owe *****. They are predatory in their lending practices, they harass you.

By halting payments and failing to pay as promised, as you stated, you violated the terms of your contract. All rates, fees, terms &conditions for your BHG loan proposal were provided to you in advance for you to review. Our records show, you confirmed on multiple occasions including a voice recording and multiple executed documents that this was a commercial loan being taken out for business development purposes.

Both the collection agency and BHG ****** Services has made multiple attempts to contact you regarding a potential resolution and you have failed to respond to any of their communications. If you would like to discuss your options please reach out accordingly.

Agreed to a financial loan over $124000. Loan funds were to be wired to my bank account on 12/29 and confirmation of wire was to be sent to me as well. As of today no money has been received and my bank has not received a wire. In addition, no confirmation of the wire being sent and received has been provided by bhg despite numerous emails and phone calls. They just keep saying it was sent but they will not provide proof of it being sent and received. This is breach in f contract and I still do not have my money
