The absolute worst people. Unprofessional is a kind word when referencing the office staff. I was in a car accident, they towed my car as I was being taken to the hospital from being hit by a reckless driver. I called the very next day to find out how much it would cost to get it out and was told, "give me 30 minutes to find out where it's at in our yard and if it's here and we'll call you back." That day I waited and received no call back and was at the hospital unable to call them. The next day they slap a $95 fee for what's called a lien fee along with another $30 charge for daily storage. By the time I was able to find out how much it was going to cost it was close to $600. I asked if they could help me lower the cost because I tried calling, received no call back and even tried coming to the yard still got no response and was told directly by the management/owner that, "the phone works two ways and I should have kept calling. So they essentially saying it was my job to manage their employees and keep them honest with their promises to return phone calls and that the additional fees were my problem as their employees did not contact me with my total days earlier. Their excuse was there was only one person in the office that day and it was my problem if I couldn't call them back after they promised to call me. They make their money by not being professional and allowing slothful, untrustworthy, outright dishonest individuals to be employed here. I am disgusted and feel as though I've been robbed by criminals to put it nicely.

I have reached out to the Mr* ***** and we have come to a mutual decision - After reviewing the noted and speaking with Mr* ***** -  Daytona Wrecker Service has refunded all storage fees and also clerical fees that had been paid. I hope that this in some way helps Mr* *****s situation, I have also expressed that we will be changing our policy of telling people we will call them back, but instead have customers call the office back to get the information that they are looking for.  Hopefully, Mr* ***** is satisfied with the outcome.  Thank You  ***** *******

On September 30th after the hurricane, I attempted to get to the pharmacy to get my chemo medications when it was too much I turned around and tried to get back home. I got drowned out and Daytona police contacted Daytona wreckers. I asked at the time how much it was going to cost me he said $150 cash and if I didn't have it he'd take it to the garage. That was a Friday and I tried calling all day Saturday and Sunday leaving message after message to try and get my car and nobody ever got back to me. On Monday morning I walked down there and I was told they were charging me $420, $200 of it was water. For what? There was no water in the vehicle absolutely whatsoever there was a hurricane! Price gouge much? I had out of state plates and I was charged way more than anybody else in the line and $200 for water when there is none in the car and even if there is it's totaled it's not like they sucked it out or did anything! And I was never told I'd be charged this and I want a refund

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/10/13) */ In response to Ms. *****'s complaint: In the days preceding, during and post hurricane Ian , Daytona Wrecker Service was requested by the Daytona Beach Police Department to tow numerous vehicles that were left abandoned in the roadways, sidewalks and various other locations due to storm conditions. The roadways needed to be clear for emergency response vehicles to move freely throughout the city. Due to the severe flooding and power outage at our office we were not in the office until Monday, we tried to accommodate all customers at this time, still without power and dealing with flooding. Ms. ***** picked up her vehicle on Monday, and it was set out for another wrecker service to tow it for her, (was not running due to flooding). We do not normally release police issued tows on the weekends, because we need to prove ownership for release. (office is staffed Monday - Friday) Due to the situation we have been refunding 2 days storage (Saturday & Sunday) in the amount of $60.00, if Ms. *****'s would like she can stop by Daytona Wrecker Service M-F from 8am-4pm to collect. In addition to other: price gauging and over charging her for out of state tags. All our prices area mandated by the city and all customers were charged accordingly. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/10/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) They explain about the police. I appointed out to them and I will say it again I called the police and asked them what to do. They called Daytona wreckers. So anything to do with the police has nothing to do with this. She never addresses the fact that when he showed up and I asked him how much it was going to be that he said $150. I defy him to say otherwise. He never said while he was standing in water that there would be an additional charge for $200 for water. There was no water in the vehicle and it was totaled what was the charge for $200 for water that I was never informed of? You can refund the storage along with the $200 water charge. May I ask if this is permitted?. I have yet to receive an itemized invoice. Why is that? Please provide one showing the $200 charge for water. Excuse me there was a hurricane they bring water. I will be there to pick up the $60 because I was not told about that either along with the invoice. I do not however accept this as a final payment I still believe they are gouging me for an extra $200. They did nothing for the $200 charge. A charge I was never informed of. I was also charged $30 for a tarp? A tarp for what? On a totaed vehicle? Again I will go and get my $60 but I also want an itemized invoice because I'm not done. Thank you very much I have attached their so-called invoice. Good business practices Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/10/17) */ Hello, In response - no need for Ms ***** to go to Daytona Wrecker Service. I will send out a check in the amount of $135.00 for 2 days storage and $75.00 for the water recovery. I tried reaching out to Ms. ***** by phone at the number she provided and the female who answered advised I had the wrong number. Also I am attaching an itemized bill and a copy of the check. Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2022/10/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I'm going to make this very clear first of all. I am going to cash the check for $135 but I'm doing it under protest and not full settlement. My reasoning is as follows and I have not waivered from this:. This comes down to what the tow truck driver told me versus what I was charged. That tow truck driver emphatically told me $150 when I asked what the charge would be. He was standing in water when he said it he had all the opportunity in the world at that time to tell me all the charges I would be charged but he didn't because he knew I would go elsewhere this was not a police issued tow. And what are you talking about a second truck? There was no second truck whatsoever!!! If you look at that invoice again they charged me for a tarp and she gives no explanation for this. Why? To keep it dry? On a totaled vehicle? I want $126 refunded in addition to the 135 they are giving me. I WAS TOLD THE CHARGE WOULD BE $150 AND THAT'S IT! They claim they were not price gouging me well what other explanation do you have for it? These are trumped-up charges. I also asked that she supply the law that requires them to charge me all these other charges that they charged me for. They are rude, they are ignorant, and they are thieves. And if that tow truck driver says anything other than what I just said then I will say and I hate to use the word but he is a liar. He told me $150. I am so sick and tired of companies like this thinking they can go ahead and just take advantage of people like this. This is outrageous and they know it! They strong-arm you and won't let you go until you pay the bill. I was going to throw the title at them and tell them to keep the car but I did not want to get arrested for something so stupid that I know I'm right about. When Daytona wreckers sends me a check for $126 for final payment of settlement, I will let this go and I will acknowledge that this is then closed until then, it will remain open and again I will have my attorney involved if I have to because it is the principal at this point. I would bet I was not the only one complaining that day! Not one person there was pleasant. I will await my check for $126 and then I will be on my way and they will be on their way and I will never ever have to deal with them again.

My car was towed after my friend borrowed it and she was subsequently arrested by Daytona Beach police. It was towed by Daytona wrecker and was brought to their storage yard on March 13. I called that evening and was told it was not there. I contacted Daytona Beach police and they said anything in Daytona is towed by Daytona wrecker. I called back and the person who identified himself as a dispatcher said rudely "I already told you SIR it is not here." I called other tow yards and they all told me the same thing...call Daytona wrecker. I called them back on Monday March 14th and was told by the same "dispatcher". I TOLD YOU YESTERDAY SIR, ITS NOT HERE." But not that nice. My friend who was arrested called and he said "What is the matter with you people? I told your boyfriend we don't have it.!!". We then contacted the Daytona Beach police and spoke to an officer who flat out stated "Daytona wrecker has it.". I called March 15, a.m. and was told they did have my car and it would be 222.00 to get it back. I said we shouldn't pay for two days because the person on the phone on Sun and Mon said it wasn't there. The lady lied to me and said " oh that was our service.". I want a refund. I am filing a criminal complaint with the Daytona Beach police because I feel they do this a lot to get more money out of people which is fraud. I am also filing a complaint with FDOT and the Daytona Beach city commissioners. They are crooked and deceitful.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/21) */ In response to**************, both times he contacted Daytona Wrecker Service it was after office hours and he spoke with the answering service. Unfortunately, the answering service does not have access to our records, which includes vehicles that have been towed to the storage facility for the Police Department. When he contacted the office during business hours he was given the information he needed and was able to retrieve his vehicle at that time. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/03/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) It was not the service. I spoke to a dispatcher who repeatedly said that my vehicle was not there. Why would the service say such a thing. You are lying. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/03/25) */ Hello, In response to Mr.********, there is obviously no explanation that is going to satisfy him. So, I am going to refund his 2 days of storage (total is $60.00) Please have him advise if he would like to pick it up from my office or have like it mailed to him. Thank You Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2022/03/27) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) That will be acceptable. Please advise of your business hours and I will be there tomorrow 3/28 or Tues 3/29
