On 3/23/2022 signed up for online Keiser University and was told that tuition could range from ******** to ******** for an associate's Degree in medical billing and coding. They aggressively had me open many student loans accounts from different lenders for student loans. I finally withdrew from Keiser University on 5/23 due to racking up many different loans and them saying I owed even more money. They have racked up my total balance to over ******** for tuition and even say I owe an extra ********, which they are threatening to send to collections. They also claim they have refunded some of my direct student loans, as reflected in their itemized statement. But when checking my direct student loan balance, nothing has been refunded for those accounts. Also, they charged tuition on 4/3/2023 in the amount of ********* for the summer semester, which I withdrew from before those classes started, yet I am still being charged for them.Initial Complaint

Keiser University processed my enrollment as being a Veteran when I actually enrolled as a Veteran Dependent. Throughout the majority of my classes, I was told I had minimal out of pocket expenses. Then right before my last set of classes, I was told they enrolled me wrong, and because of that my final class would be $5000.00 out of pocket. I appealed to the **** to take two classes at once due to their error and was denied. Then FA told me just to make payments as I could afford to do so. I've now been placed in collections for the amount due. WITH ZERO communication from Keiser themselves.Initial Complaint

Account name: ****/**********************, account #: ********************, date opened: 01/29/2020, HC: $3,714.00.- On (04/25/2023), I wrote a request letter to EXPERIAN and TRANSUNION with regards to this inaccurate student loan reporting on my consumer report. I requested an investigation to be reviewed. But its been over 30 days ago now and yet i still havent received the investigation result for this account. *********** did not fix the problem. Your company is completely and factually reporting this account inaccurately and incorrectly and i would like this account to be deleted immediately from my EXPERIAN and TRANSUNION credit report please.Initial Complaint

Keiser University refuses to let me graduate with my Bachelor's degree in ****************************** I only have one class left to go which is Statistics II. I tried reaching out to the teacher multiple times and I've gotten no help. I've tried using their onsite tutoring and they weren't helping me. No one in the school wants to help you. I decided to apply to another school to see if I could transfer my Keiser credits to ***, but that can't happen because the Keiser credits don't transfer. I would have to re-start my degree from scratch with ***. I've wasted time and money with a school that isn't credited and one can't transfer. I have reached out to the school and they have kept me on hold that I just gave up. The financial aid office even kept hounding me to take out loans in excessive amounts for 3 classes. $6000 for 3 classes and then they wanted me to take out another $6000 for that one Statistics II class?? Keiser University mislead me and tricked me into signing up for a private student loan. The financial aid employee I was working with suddenly was no longer there after she guided me into getting a private loan through an outside company which she helped me apply for and told me it would have to be paid after graduation, but instead payments began immediately. Keiser University knowingly drained all my student loan opportunities and are now withholding my transcripts and not returning any calls or attempts to obtain them. I entrusted them to help guide me at a young age into the best path, but instead they took advantage of my situation and collected as much money as they could from me at a young age because they knew I trusted them. I deserve my transcripts so I can move on and do what is best for my education and career. The ****************** frowns upon colleges withholding transcripts for payment. 05/25/2022 ***** The advisor introduced me to signing up for school saying that fees will be waived - after a few months I had an accident and I was unable to attend the school due to my spine surgery. I submitted the forms, everything was canceled, and spoke again with the advisor. They said that no fees will be charged and that it was waived and since I never attend the school there was no reason to have any fee. After the advisor left the school after 9 month i received a letter charging me a fee and I don't agree with it - because they said even whatever i signed it was canceled because i didn't attend the school and that I will not be charge any fees, because it was waived and since I didn't start the school there was no reason for they charge me. I am so frustrated with them for their deceptive/ misleading conduct. They are not even trying to resolve it , they are just sending me letters and calling me all the time to go to their school. They promise that I will have no charges even though I have emails saying that they will waive the fees. My application was canceled due to my health< I had spine surgery. And I was in bed for about 4 months. They must provide me with credit because Im disputing the amount they are charging me. Im so glad that didn't work out, because they don't have a word that comes out of their mouth. I'm disputing the charge. I attended keiser university for the radiology program. I pay for tuition out of pocket and i am no longer going to be attending the school due to them not wanting to pace me in clinicals. I paid them a check of 8k and only went to one class so i asked foe the rest back and i was told that they do not see a balance. then where did the money go? the bursar isnt heping me and obviously cant read the ledger. I NEED HELPCustomer response

This institution is totally unethical and not transparent at all in conducting business. They are holding my transcript for being transferred for a balance they say I have that I was never informed of. I have never received a billing statement until today after two years that I have graduated. When I called to ask why they are holding my transcript I was informed of a balance. I asked that an invoice would be mail to me since I have never received a statement they then told me I had access to the portal...what portal? I graduated in 2020 and my access was terminated when I graduated. I had a zero balance if not they wouldn't have given me my diploma. I received my statement and my statement it clearly states I have a $-241. credit not a balance. I then called to be transferred to several people that couldn't answer as to why I have a balance and credit, no one had an answer but instead told that I was sent to collections...collections? How do they send someone to collections when they never informed me of a balance and until this day I haven't received a statement of such balance, but they are holding my transcript for be transferred to another institution. Where are the collection laws? isn't there a process before you send someone to collections? They can't say the have exhausted efforts in collecting when I was never informed of a balance. I have been in my same home since, they can't say I moved and statements were sent. It's just not right! I went from $0 when I graduated to $-241 to a balance of almost $7K like how..no one has answers, but being told I am in collections. Terrible!!!Initial Complaint

The school has misled its students for decades. One good thing the department of education can do to stop the fraud in loans and financial aid would be to stop the school. The gov should cancel all debts since the school has mismanaged the funds and lied to students. The gov can also stop its license or revoke its entirety for its bad leadership. They have never notified students when they are raising their tuition. They had promised all students jobs and a good degree. Yet, inside of them, they are reckless. Many of their students are in debt and they cannot get out of it. Will the government/department of education do anything about it? I am not happy at all with the background of the school. What has Mr. ********************** done to save the school's name? I think this is embarrassing. Maybe his mother can help. Since they were for-profit and they changed to not-for-profit schools.Initial Complaint
