Last year (2021) I submitted a request for transcripts to be supplied to another university to which I intend to complete my BA in Business. I had started a few classes with **************, however I decided to go with another private institution who provides flexibility for me. Keiser had no issues in sending my transcripts to ************** on or about 2011. However, now (10 yrs later), upon requesting these from Keiser; their bursar's office is saying I need to pay an additional $300usd to be able to get them due to system reading I owe them. I was under the VA Educational ***** ********* was remitted to Keiser for my entire AA degree. And for Keiser to now withhold it for said 300usd due to system updates is outrageous. When speaking to someone over the phone they told me to submit a request online and it has been rejected for failure to pay. After seeing so many lawsuits against this institution I can now see why. If this complaint can somehow help release my AA degree from ****** I'd be grateful.

We are checking with our Contact:  Marlize at Keiser, to see what the actual charges are.

Will advise once we hear back from Keiser

I am rejecting this response because:

The records at their "current" state are incorrect. I left the college with no debts owed & managed to get transcripts sent to the new institution to further my education. And  now that I am in need of the transcripts once again, Keiser states there are $300usd owed which is incorrect, it is also not uncommon for the bursars office to have mistakes on monies owed as I & other alumni recall during my stay at this college. I am not paying an additional $300usd, to have my records (re) released & Keiser should rectify this and release my transcripts to me urgently.

      Sincerely,

      *********************

******* is doing the best we can and the only thing we can do is wait for a response from the contact at ******.  We understand this students frustration, but without hearing from the school and the history of the account.

All we can do is to please give us a little bit of time to find out what the school has to say.

Keiser University keeps Veteran's student loans and only issues a small amount of it based on how long you have been in your program. This practice is not only not done correctly, but they refuse to provide where the money is being kept while it is in their holding. If they are collecting interest on the money in the account they are holding the student loan money in and where that interest goes that is made on our student loans. This practice is not done for non-Veteran students who have their program paid for by federal grants. Those students received their full amount given to them once Keiser receives their student loan transfer from the Federal Student loan provider. This practice is not only discriminatory to Veterans but puts Veterans in financial hardship. Veterans under Ch. 31 education benefits only receive a $700 monthly stipend along with full tuition paid. The majority of us use student loans to pay our personal bills while in college since the nursing program does not allow time to work a full or part-time job.

I know *********** didnt verify this collection or even bother to reach out to you. You need to remove this unverified account immediately. This has been going on for so long now, and they continue to verify without sending me proof that they really conducted an investigation.

The school is holding my official transcripts due to an unpaid balance that I had no knowledge of. My school was suppose to be paid through via student loans. I informed they that they are currently listed in the lawsuit Sweet ****************** and that they are unable to collect on a debt when in a lawsuit. Keiser informed me the debt is with the school and not the loan which I am confused on. They sent me a ledger, the ledger is complied of multiple late payment fees as early as 2012. I told them I am unaware of this balance and that if these late fees were charged monthly, why would they allow me to enroll every semester with a balance. I graduated in 2015. I asked for a copy of the agreement/contract that I signed pertaining to this balance, this was requested on on 7/7. They never responded back to my email nor have they sent me the requested documents. I emailed them again today, still no response. If the school is unable to provide the documents that I owe this debt that I recall, they need to clear the debt and and release my official transcript to my current school. Attached is the emails between me and the school, their name listed in the lawsuit, as well as a copy of ledger they sent me showing multiple late fees.

I am trying to get my official transcript from my school. However, they are stating I have a balance. I am unfamiliar with the balance, I also informed due to their school being named as one of the school in the student loan lawsuit (sweet vs *******), they are unable to collect on the balance and that holding my transcript is part of collecting on a balance because they will not release until paid. They responded back saying my balance is with the school. They proceeded to send me over a ledger, however the ledger was filled with mostly monthly late payments from as early as 2012. Once again I told them that I was not familiar with this balance. And that if I was charged monthly for late payments since 2012, why did they keep allowing me to enroll each semester if the balance was not fulfilled. I asked for them to send me any agreements/contracts that I have signed pertaining to the balance that is currently owed. I still have not received this. I am trying to enroll into a nursing program, and they will not allow me to enroll until I have my transcript. Keiser University is holding my transcript due to a balance that I have no knowledge, and will not produce the agreements/contracts that show I am responsible for this balance. Please assist with getting my official transcript, I did email them again to inform them I needs this issue rectified quickly as I am trying to enroll into school. Attached are the emails between me and multiple people at the school, a list showing their name in the current lawsuit, as well as a copy of the ledger they sent me showing the multiple late payments of a balance that was accruing that I had no knowledge of. The most recent email was sent to them today, because they did not respond back to me last week when requesting the documents.

I attended Keiser university in 2017 during which time I took out a private loan through Keiser. During the course of my loan, Keiser switched loan servicer, when the switch occurred there was reportedly a technical error which caused the loan to show as two separate loans instead of one under a new service name. At this time I am and have been trying to have this loan (Everglades) removed from my Equifax credit report. I have been told by Keiser to file dispute, which I have, Equifax has stated a loan representative from Keiser/Everglades needs to contact them to have the loan removed. None of these things have been done and I am unable to apply for a mortgage due to a falsely reported defaulted loan. I would like this loan removed from my Equifax credit report.

My son Derek ***** wants to be an RN, he has already graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Public Health from the University of Miami, in Coral Gables Florida. He researched and decided on ****** University for the RN program and has been attending for a little over a year. During his time at ****** University, his professors bullied, embarrassed, humiliated and degraded him in front of fellow students and staff. One of these incidents caused my son to leave a clinical early and ****** writing him up, unbelievable! He was bullied by a professor, the other students that witnessed it told him to sue ****** and the professor. Instead, my son was professional and the professor punished him with a ton of additional work to complete, so my son went to the Dean, had to have a zoom call with a panel of individuals, at the end of the zoom call, he heard one of them say "this is going to be a problem". Another time he got his Covid shot and was not feeling well, he sent all the information to the school and his professor sent him an email telling him "in the future to maintain communication prior to the class starting", he did send it prior to class, she also told him all that he needs to make up. Zero sympathy, ****** University has heard of Covid hasn't it? There are multiple incidents of mistreatment from the professors of ****** University, there should be an investigation and a revamping of your RN program. My son has spoken individually to his professors, the dean and anyone else that should try to assist students and no one assisted him with any of this issues he has encountered. He almost left the school so many times, but really wanted to just finish. However, at this point he doesn't even trust that his exams and papers are being graded fairly, as he never is allowed to see what was supposedly wrong, just a bad grade, when he knows the material. We would like a full refund.
