    0 customer service. Slow...very slow processing of claims. Horrible company.

    AVOID THIS COMPANY if you want customer service. I wish I had read these reviews before I chose them for my insurance company. My so called "agent" *********************************** apparently doesn't work at all because she never replies to emails, voicemails or phone calls, even though I had a major claim and appeal in process. Nearly 3 months have gone by and ZERO responses outside of the initial denial over inaccurate and shoddy investigating on their behalf. What a joke of a company. I realize that insurance companies are in business to take money and not give it away, but you can't just deny valid claims backed up by facts and science, and then ignore the documents because you might have to actually cut a check. I have cancelled them and moved on to a new company, not going to keep paying them when it's clear they are NOT going to be here when I need them.

    Although we appreciate the insured's feedback, we do not agree with the statements made. The companys contractual obligation is to adjust the claim in accordance with the policy terms. We have done so in this case.

    Today l spoke with a rep who was rude as h*** She was a fast talker, wouldn't allow me to get in a word in edgewise, and came across as if l was the incompetent one. Sorry but l can't deal with such lack of professionalism. Changing to a new insurance carrier.

    This company has a hard time giving people their money back. My escrow account has yet to have money put back in it. I have been told several stories, such as, " it takes 15 business days," " my due date on my policy hasn't renewed yet" (mortgage company paid a month and a half early), "the money is sitting in accounting, and they don't know why," and " I'll put a note into accounting, and it should take 48 hours for accounting to transfer it." No one is on the same page at this company. They wouldn't let me speak with anyone in accounting, and they wouldn't let my broker speak with a supervisor or accounting.

    We lost shingles to our roof and also had hail damage on 5/11/2022 and several days later. After the adjuster came and inspected my property he stated my roof(s) were in dire need of replacement. I was told by the adjuster that it could take 2-3 weeks before I would hear anything. Well it took over a month and me calling multiple times for them to say they emailed me the denial document which I did not receive until I called and stated that my damage was less than my deductible. The woman who was supposed to be handling my claim only emailed once stating my claim was in process and then she was never available to speak to after as well as email. I was just notified today by my contractor that my neighbor will be getting a new roof when we will not be. This company is nothing but a joke, takes money from their customers and doesn't stand by them. I will be trying one more time to see if my roof(s) will be approved otherwise I will be searching for a company that respects their customers.

    The statement against our honesty and trustworthiness is unfounded and unwarranted. The inspection determined that the hail damage claimed to the exterior surfacing was in fact, cosmetic damage related to marring, pitting and other superficial damage. Our adjusters investigation determined that such damage does not prevent the "exterior surfacing" from continuing to function as a barrier to entrance of the elements to the same extent as it did before the cosmetic damage occurred.The companys contractual obligation is to adjust the policy in accordance with its terms. We have done so in this case. Universal stands behind its determination on the claim and maintains the Insureds claim was properly investigated and adjusted in good faith.Thank you,

    Unfortunately, I am forced to write this note about one of the worst Insurance carriers we've ever had in 30+ years of home ownership. That company is Universal.Over the last eighteen months, we have filed hail damage claims which are consistently being denied. After multiple visits to our house, their own adjustors said our roof was in bad shape, not just cosmetically, but functionally. Yet, Universal is refusing to approve our claim.To add insult to injury, our neighbor, with the exact roof exposure as ours, had no problem having their claim go through and just today, had their roof replaced. Multiple homes within a few blocks of ours are having no problem with having their claims approved and new roofs replaced.

    Thank you for allowing us to review this claim. We appreciate the insured's feedback. The inspection determined that the hail damage claimed to the exterior surfacing was in fact, cosmetic damage related to marring, pitting and other superficial damage. Our adjuster's investigation determined that such damage does not prevent the "exterior surfacing" from continuing to function as a barrier to entrance of the elements to the same extent as it did before the cosmetic damage occurred. The policy of insurance specifically excludes coverage for cosmetic wind and hail damage including marring, pitting and other superficial damage. A letter dated September 20, 2021 was issued explaining the same and outlining policy language. A supplemental denial letter was issued on May 23, 2022 following the receipt of rebuttal documents. 

    Although we empathize with the insured's circumstance, the company's contractual obligation is to adjust the claim in accordance with its policy terms. We have done so in this case.

    The worst home owners policy that I have experienced in all my 94 yrs of age.I submitted a claim on 3.23.22 and still have no answer.I submitted all documentation, paid my installments, on time and get the worse service ever.I live in the **************** and warn all potential customers DO NOT trust your hard earned money with this company.They are a scam and not to be trusted, ever.I am 94 yrs old and had to get a neighbor to help me with this review. I am notifying their corporate office, also.

    The worst company to handle business with. A water heater flooded my home they still have yet to send me a check to fix my house back after the water damage.It water and mold behind the walls they told me to spray bleach and vinegar water. Then file another claim after a company came and said the tub is leaking. I have had this insurance since I moved into my house 7 years ago. They still haven't contacted me to say anything and then emailed me to take my review down. Not only didn't they fix the house yet after going on 5 months since this happened they changed my adjuster he came out saw what our race was and already had plans on quitting said nothing was wrong with the house.I just can't believe this is what a home owner has to deal with and No manager or any one has called yet. I ahd ************ come out and tell me this is insane.

    This company is a scam. I cancelled a contract on a property and they never reimbursed me despite multiple contact attempts. They ask you to leave a voice mail with a promise to call you back within 24 business hours but it never happens.
