I inquired about a Tahoe at Honda of Fort Myers and received a quote with all fees and taxes at 11 AM EST. I coordinated with the dealership and my family to visit the following day (today) to inspect and purchase the Tahoe, as the dealership is two hours away. Four hours after receiving the initial quote, I got an email stating a price change for the vehicle. I contacted the salesman and explained the situation. He said it didn't make sense since I was quoted $42,000 plus taxes and fees, and promised to look into it. At 6:35 PM, I received a call from the dealership confirming the price change. I explained that I had just received a quote six hours ago and planned to visit the next day. He asked if I would still come in if they honored the original quote, and I confirmed that I would. He said he would call me back in 30 minutes, but I never received a call and no one has responded to my texts, calls, or emails.The vehicle was initially quoted with a base price of $42,450, but they increased it to $46,950 before taxes and fees. This is dishonest, and I would not recommend this dealership to anyone after this horrific experience!Business response

attached is our website disclaimer-- our price changed prior to the customer coming to the dealership and signing a contract to purchase. we understand the customer is upset , however we are glad we caught him prior to driving over 1 hour to get to the dealership to find out then about a price change. we do apologize to the customer for the incovience this has caused him.Initial Complaint

Went to buy a different car from a new Honda. ****** and ******** Honda already burned bridges with me. So thought I would try ft Myers because I got an email from **** saying he wanted to give me a deal and I would pay what he would pay for a car. Thinking he heard about my complaints. He said he would tell me why he was emailing me in person when I got there. Then when I showed up he laughed and said o it must just be auto generated. After trading in my ***** ************************** almost ***** for the car. Not what we agreed on. And then they said first payment wasn't due till July 13. Only gave me one key when I was promised 2 key fobs. Now my camera is going out and I feel the car shaking and they haven't gotten back to me about the camera yet. And somehow but July 13 Honda financial said I was 2 payments behind already. Went to Honda after ****** the manager told me to come in and he basically called me a liar said he never told me to come in. So I asked to listen to the tape of me and his conversation......all of a sudden he doesn't know how to work the computer. The next week still no call back email nothing and when I call up to Honda they have rude women who answer the phone hang up or put me on hold for 35 mins and then hang up on me. So I went in for a service check because they can't deny that to me. They said yes my camera is bad on my brand new car! Haven't heard anything from them in 2 weeks. Talk to finance and he said they screwed up and I only have to pay my one bill on July 13......it was July 17th already I believe. While waiting on the car to be diagnosed they said **** will bring us to the mall. Waiting for them to pick us up was a whole different ordeal. Waited 40 mins for a response from Honda. Then I called. They said they would send an ***** 30 mins after that I called again and they just now sent it as I called back the second time. The **** never picked us up and I had to get my own ride back. These people are liars and disgustingBusiness response

I am rejecting this response because: they did not even address my issue. They said my part was in for the camera and asked when I wanted to come in. They said I understand......they understand what exactly? I don't feel comfortable going back in there when everyone besides few select people are even nice. They said that I'm satisfied.....not even close. See they brush this off just like everything else they take nothing serious.and the customer has to pay for that. It's wrong on so many levels. I have creditors calling me all day asking for the two payment that I shouldn't owe. They are lazy and incompetent in my opinion. If I was the owner that would be a huge slap in the face for me.

we apologize to the owner for he concerns-- however we have no way to tell the lein holder what and when payments are due. the customer will need to contact them to resolve that issue. As far as the Camera , we did order the part and the part is in -- my service advisor did contact her to let her know to bring the vehicle in to get fix.Customer response

When I talked to the finance department he said the person who filed my paperwork did it to fast because he was going on vacation. So I'm still a month behind in payment. I get calls every day saying I owe money. So because of their poor judgement I'm being harassed everyday and that's not an option for me. THEY need to correct the problem when I called the finance company they told me that the issue was up to Honda to handle not them. As far as the camera goes yes I appreciate they did their job and ordered the part as I said before everyone in the mechanics part is great. They are kind and courteous. Even flexible with scheduling. But the finance and the people who answer the phones are rude, liars, and do an inadequate job on anything they take part of. I have no faith in them nor do I trust a word that they tell me. I'm always watching over my back to make sure my car isn't towed for non payment. They may think this is ok to do to someone and that alone shows the true colors of the business. And that's pretty sick and twisted if you ask me. Still haven't gotten the recorded phone calls I asked for because they don't know how to work the computer. This whole thing is just ridiculous.

My step-dad and I came to honda of ft ****** to purchase a vehicle for me and my three kids because my other car was rear ended and totalled by a negligent driver. My steps dad was trying to talk to the sales person and get the best deal possible because he knows I can't afford alot as I am a single mom so we needed the price around ****** so my monthly payments would be lower. The sales person didn't seem to be in best intrest of costumer usually they will run credit show u a bunch of cars that fit your budget. We saw a 2018 ***** traverse silver only had ****** miles on it we test drove it loved it. When my step dad sat in the back to sign on a desk you could bearly read anything he was took full advantage of for sure he has excellent credit above 815. Thinking we were getting the best deal they were convincing. It was the worst deal ever being completely ripped off the price on the car was about ***** to make the monthly payments low they extended it to 8 years it comes out to be almost ****** dollars plus we put 6000 down and he was told he has to buy extended warranty or else his intrest rate would go from 6.7 to 7.8 so we trusted them got the warranty. With lots of other crazy taxes fees etc it will be just under ****** sounds ridiculous. On top of that the traverse has been towed 5 times for the same issues. It keeps going back to the dealer. Me and my special needs son broke down in it twice. The alternator was fixed twice and the purge valve 3 times. This has all been a complete nightmare after nightmare. Completely ripped off and sold a possible lemon. Alls my step dad wanted was a good car for his grandkids. Why would someone like him with excellent credit be charged these ridiculous prices. My first car was only 6 years my intrest rate was 23.9 my payments were 332. So something is not right.Business response

first and foremost, we want to apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. the fact of the matter is that this is a 2018 traverse bought 1.5 years ago as a used as-is vehicle. there are things that will happen which there is no way to predict when or what and for this we are sorry. the best we could do and have you come in, we could appraise the vehicle and see if there is something we could do, to trade you out of the traverse. please let us know if you would like to schedule an appointment to do that.Initial Complaint

I agreed the amount adverted on the internet. I agree to paying the dealer fees, but the dealership incorporated the Honda Advantage package which cost $2,875 which brought the vehicle loan up to $19,606.95 with the tax included. I didnt not agree to pay that amount but to pay the $15,499 and all the government and tax fees. The finance manger *************** had me in his office with the lights off. I couldnt see anything I was signing. He didnt give me any paper copies and to see physical. They didnt even explain what the Honda Advantage program was to me. Yes, I did sign the agreement but only because the lights were off and there was too much confusion with all the people coming in.Business response

we have tried to talk to *****************************, however we believe we got her husband on the phone- we offered to take back the vehicle and unwind the deal. the Husband said they would not do that, then later they called back and was supposed to bring the vehicle back into the dealership but never showed up. at this point we have done everything we could to satisfy this customer.Initial Complaint

April 2, 2024 vehicle purchase. 5 extra warranties charged without buyer's knowledge, 7 year financing added without buyer's knowledge, no paperwork given to buyer at time of closing. Multiple credit requests submitted by car dealer, even though buyer had previously applied for 5 year financing and was pre-qualified. These multiple requests are affecting buyers credit score. Sales tax was over-charged by dealer ( tax was not reduced for trade-in value). The final loan should have been $28,900 for 5 years, dealer financed $42,278 for 7 years. English is not the first language of buyer, it was first time buying a vehicle. Dealer practicing deceptive and fraudulent practices, repetitive deception and lies are ongoing as buyers' husband, who is deployed overseas, attempts to uncover truth of the sale details.Business response

I live in *******, but my ******* representative was looking at Hondas for me 1 day when he was in Fort Myers in early March.Thereafter I told fort myers I had purchased a car in *******.Despite having repeated this to every salesperson who contacted me and having called several managers, they will not stop harassing me: phone calls, texts and emails have continued. It's a month and a half later and I have HAD IT.Business response

The dealership refuses to cancel and refund my extended warranty. It's been almost 2 months, and they keep giving different answers, having to talk to different people who all of the sudden don't know anything about it. Hang up on me. Put me on hold never to come back again. I cancelled it with the warranty company months ago, and they said to 'contact the dealership". I do and they say "the warranty company hasn't cancelled it yet" which makes no sense because the dealership is responsible for cancellation and refunds to the finance company. One time I called and they put me on hold, put the phone down and said "it's that guy again which thinks we're gonna cancel his extended warranty hahaha" and never came back to the call. I keep contacting the warranty company but they just say contact the dealership. I contact the dealership and they hang up, put me on hold, or play dumb. I just want the warranty cancelled and refunded to my finance company. That's all.Business response

I Purchased, a ram **** truck from Honda Of Ft. Myers on September 14, 2023. I specifically went there because the advertised price was so good. In the finance office ***** kept giving me monthly payment numbers only. He didnt explain that he was adding on a bunch of what they call side cars, which were extra warranties. I specifically did state I would not want a maintenance package as I was not bringing my truck to a Honda dealership for servicing. It was totally my bad that I scanned through and just signed on the yellow boxes on the computer screen in the desk without being able to see what they were. After I got home and looked at the flash drive I was given I couldnt believe they charged me $41,000 for the truck I went there to buy listed at $29,000. They dropped my truck off that night and I noticed damage on the passenger side. I told the driver that I would be in in the morning to discuss this. I went in the next morning and spoke to ***** in finance first, he stated that if I would wait 2 to 3 months he would cut me a check for the money then cancel the warranties. I then address the damage to the truck to which they said they would take it into the back and have it looked at. When they brought me my truck the entire front end chrome was completely damaged. I had words with the service department manager **** because again they dropped off my truck damaged and didnt tell me! **** had some of the chrome pieces replaced ****** and diming me and refused to do anything about the damage on the side to which he stated my guys arent penalized for damage so if they did it they would tell me. After that **** had ******** cancel the warranties and give me the paperwork November 16, 2023. I still havent received my $6,515.93! *** called, been told theyre looking into it and Ill get back to me.Business response

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Honda of Fort Myers filled with dishonest, misleading, deceiving, bait & switch sales tactics! Very shady business practices going on here!!We made multiple phone calls to the dealership before driving for 1 1/2 hours to Ft Myers. We were emphatically told by salespeople on the phone that there was definitely room for negotiation!!So, we decided to make the trip down to Ft MyersWhen we sat down to talk about purchasing the vehicle, they totally switched their story & told us that they NEVER NEGOTIATE. The salesperson made a big deal about it and was insistently asking who we talked to on the phone. Then a random finance manager even walked up to the table and was questioning us as well He very rudely told us that he was going to go back and to listen to the phone calls, and then hastily walked away. He did not come back.The situation was extremely uncomfortable & unsettling, very much like an interrogation. Basically, making us feel like we were lying because they did not believe someone had told us this. The Honda Advantage: A COMPLETE SCAM!! They also charged me for a package called the Honda Advantage. Basically, a package full of lots of worthless & useless stuff. Its just a way to offer a lower price upfront, and then add this on to the financing to get more money. I absolutely have no use for this package, but they told me that it could not be removed. Also, I was told that stolen ******************* credit benefits would be paid in the form of a check. Upon reading the outline now I find out that is not true at all!! Seems its issued in the form of a credit to buy another car from Honda of Ft Myers?!?! MORE LIES!!! To sum it all up, this plan is COMPLETELY & UTTERLY USELESS! And why call this a plan? If it cannot be removed, then just add it to the base price!! Misleading a customer with a low price and then adding a worthless upcharge plan is unbelievably deceptive & deceiving, to say the leastBusiness response

I am rejecting this response because:I have not received any phone calls from Honda of Fort Myers. And just to make sure I double checked my voicemails & emails. I have received zero correspondence from Honda of Fort Myers.. JUST A CONTINUATION OF THE RUN AROUND BTW, theres much more that happened that day. I ran out of space on the BBB website! My complaint didnt even include the **** the financing **** tried to pull with my approved BOA financing. And thats still not all of it! As we were going through financing, there was an office full of 4 or 5 men, yelling and cursing in the office directly across from the finance manager. Very disrespectful! I tried my best to tune them out,but words like F-*** GIRLS were hard to ignore!! At one point my finance manager actually engaged in the conversation! My daughter and I were sitting right there...but they didnt even care about that at all!! Crazy!! Very unprofessional environment!!We were deeply offended. Also, I couldnt help to think about maybe my boss, parents,or in-laws being subjected to this type of environment! WOW! The complete lack of respect was astronomical!!
I have been patient and have not posted any reviews onlineas of yet. Would really appreciate getting this resolved ASAP. Online BBB complaint says no settlement was requested? Just to be clear, I am requesting reimbursement in the amount $2,400 for the Honda Advantage scam plan.

The customer was aware and signed the documents to move forward with the purchase. I purchased a car in late September (2023). After reviewing the paperwork the same night I purchased the car I saw the interest rate and the loan term was more than what was told to me and I found out they charged me an extra $1000 which on the paperwork was added into the price of the car with taxes, it was not a separate line item. I went into the dealership the next day and spoke to the finance person who said he would look into it.I received an email saying the $1000 charge was a mistake and an accidental charge. In order to fix the dealership mistake I would have to fill out a form and my lender would receive a check for the extra charge. It has now been 3 months and no check has been sent. I spoke to the finance manager who said he saw the notes about the charge and maybe a check would be sent in January, he would have to call me back. It has been a week and I have not heard from the finance manager.It is unacceptable that the dealership made a mistake, I brought it to the attention within 24 hours of the purchase, it has now been 3 months, I am paying interest on the wrong loan amount because Honda of Fort Myers charged me more and has not fixed their mistake. I will continue to file complaints with Honda, ****************, Lee County and any one else until the extra charge is refunded with interest.Business response
