Called to treat exterior frames on sliding doors. Person came to apartment and examined doors and suggested most needed new rollers. Was not even prepared to silicone protect frames as we had requested. Moment of our weakness, gave permission to repair 3 doors at cost we subsequently learned was MOST EXORBITANT ********* hour of work. Site was left with debris not cleaned up. Price of $3,800.! Told not to operate repaired doors for at least 24 hours. After 24 hours, checked on operating doors, discovered WORST than before so called repairs!! Also discovered this Company does no longer operate under name ofSliding Doors Expressbut changed name to Florida Sliding Doors . Probably for obvious reason. Phone number was not changed. Complaint pending with credit card dispute. After 24 hour do not operate doors advice, repair person requested video approval of his visit which we stupidly agreed to, not having checked the work for 24 hours,,This was in our opinion in retrospect a true scam!!

We will not accept the business to return to correct any doors. Only refund will be satisfactory to us.  In our opinion the business is a fraud.  BBB itself gives them an F ( that is, the company calling themselves Sliding Doors Express which was the name prior to changing it to Florida Sliding Doors.  Probably for obvious reason.

On June 15 2024 I had Sliding Doors Express out to get a slow moving sliding door to close easier! The repair man took the total door apart so now it is impossible to open or close! He charged me 600 dollars and refused to fix it! I am a 74 year old woman with severe back issues and now I have no access to my balcony!

I hired Sliding Doors Express to install a hurricane door and sidelight. I thought they knew what they were doing when ***** came to give me an estimate and asked if we could open the box to make sure the sidelight was in the box since he said it didn't show that a sidelight was actually in the box. They said they would come in a day or two. I got several conflicting messages about whether or not they were actually coming. One said they would be there between 8 and 10. I said, "But it's after that time now." One would say someone was coming, another agent would say they weren't coming until another day. This went back and forth all day. Finally, someone came later in the day, when they said it would take several hours to install. An installer came with his father as his "assistant." They took several hours, and seemed to be pretty friendly. They didn't cover my aquariums near the door, so plaster and saw dust were all over the aquariums and on the floor around the door. Odd.After several hours, they said they were finished when I was outside in front of my house. The installer asked me to pay the second half of the fee...I had paid half up front. I told him that they had a coupon in the ad that I found their number from. They argued about applying it, which I thought was pretty unethical. They hadn't completely caulked the border of the door, but when I had asked about it, they said it would be covered by the molding, which they left off. I had asked if it would ruin the integrity, especially as a hurricane proof door. They said no. I asked about the lock not sliding smoothly; they said they would come back another day if it didn't work easily. The lock was increasingly difficult to open and close and I was locked out of my house a couple of weeks later after calling numerous times for them to fix the lock. They promised but never showed up to repair it despite making an appointment. They have lied so many times. This is not a legitimate or safe company.

    Hello

The customer requested to install a door she purchased herself, not a one we provided therefor we have only limited abilities to make it perfect since she didn't purchase the trim parts that are part of the door to cover the gaps. it was all explained and she approved the job.

more than that she signed a completion form and approved the job.

more than that we offer to purchase for her the missing parts but she didn't want to pay for them.

Please see attached service completion waiver form.

If the customer wants additional  parts to be installed she need either provide them or pay so we can buy them for her.

Once again we provided service in this case - not the product.

I am rejecting this response because:

They are lying. They didn't install the door properly, they installed the lock so poorly that I was locked out, they left the shims and nails sticking out dangerously, they didn't tell me before installation that I needed to purchase additional molding, they promised to come back to fix the lock and molding, which they never even fi ished CAULKING, si the door is not sealed and won't pass inspection I called multiple times. They promised to come, never showed up, never called or returned my calls or texts when they failed to show up. I want a refund of at least $200 so I can pay another contractor to finish the job correctly. I overpaid at least $200 so this should be no problem.

This company is a scamming company. They say they are in Hollywood, but if you call you will get a woman in ***************. No one knows what anyone else in the company is doing. They lie every step of the way. If you read reviews about them on yelp, all day the same thing. Horrible company! I was scammed! They ruined my lock by installing it wrong and they aren't taking responsibility. Scummy people!

    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:

I just had yet another person coming to my house and the first thing they said was who did your door what a terrible job it's not finished and it's not safe. It can't pass inspection like this.

Excessive damage to track and exterior of my home. 3 repair techs in my home making a mess and I just wanted them gone assuming a manager would be able to rectify but fake email addresses and an answering service that offered $50 for $1375 Job

    Hello,

The Customer approved the job and we explained everting  before doing the job. They were aware of everything before we did the job.

The door slides perfectly as promised and  approved by the customer - invoice was signed and payment was on site with the customer after they had tested the door.

The credit offered - which the customer declined - was out of courtesy and NOT because there is something wrong with the job performed.

    Thank you

    Ben

I'm 75 years old and a retiree, as is my wife, and we both believe that we were taken advantage of by Sliding Door Express (SDE), which has subsequently ignored our multiple requests for contact with the firm's officials to discuss our issue. When SDE's field rep came to our home on March 30, 2022 to repair a sliding door that wasn't moving freely and do other sliding door-related work, he told me that taking down our sliding doors to address the one door's lack of smooth movement would cost $275.00 for the labor and that the only things we'd need to pay for otherwise would be parts. He then decided to replace that door's two rollers without taking the doors down, but, after he replaced the rollers, he noted that there were two spots on that door's track that weren't smooth. He told me that unless something was done to solve that problem, the newly installed rollers would get ruined. I agreed that he should do what's needed to fix the problem. He fixed it by taking down the doors (for which we were charge separately) and then gluing an approximately 8' long and less than 1/4" wide stainless steel cap over the uneven track, and it took him perhaps 10 minutes to do it once the doors were down (I watched him do all of it). Then, when he was done making all repairs, he presented me with an invoice for $994.00, on which I later noted we had been charged $275.00 for labor and $400 for "track replacement 50 per fit 8 fit" [I'm assuming that's 50/ft. times 8ft.]. However, he'd replaced no tracks, and, based on my internet queries, the cap he put on the one track should have been $50.00 or less at retail.I called SDE to discuss the issue later that day and was promised a call back by somebody in management but have received none to date, and, likewise, there's been no response to my April 2nd email to info@slidingdoorsexpress

    Hello,

Customer agreed to all prices and services offered to him, he himself saying he watched the technician while performing all repairs and approved them.

He then signed the invoice and paid the balance. So unfortunately his online research is not valid since retail price of different product without service being done is not apples to apples to perfect service we provided and quality product together with 1 year warranty.

BUT out of courtesy we can offer a credit of 10%.

If this is agreed we will be submitting that request to our accounting team.

    PLEASE let us know.

    Thank you

    Ben

    Complaint: 17070385

We are rejecting the Vendor's response because it is substantively incorrect and the proposed billing adjustment is neither fair nor reasonable:

I DID NOT agree beforehand "to all prices and services offered". At no time was I informed beforehand that we'd be charged $400.00 for "track replacement."

In fact, when the invoice was presented to me and I became aware of the $400.00 charge for "track replacement", I complained to the technician, also called the vendor that same day to contest the $400.00 for the materials and labor for "replacing" tracks, which is something that WAS NOT DONE, and made subsequent comparable attempts to contact vendor by email to resolve the issue.

The ONLY price I agreed to before any work was done was the $275.00 for labor that's shown as the first item on the invoice, and WE"RE NOT CONTESTING THE CHARGE FOR LABOR or any other charge except for the $400.00, and, in light of that, the vendor's intimation that price comparisons excluding labor are invalid is, itself, invalid.

A fair and reasonable resolution would be a $300.00 refund back to our credit card, thus reducing the charge for a service "track replacement" that didn't occur, while allowing vendor to a $100.00 charge for the single track repair that did occur.

    Sincerely,
