1 starWhen I first contacted them they stated the cost of rebuilding my Audi engine would be $6k and it would take about 3 weeks to complete and send back. Three months later they said $6.5k and I had to remind him the original price he gave me. Well, sent them my engine and I had no contact with them for about 6 weeks. I called them and they gave me the number to the shop where it was being rebuilt. Called the shop and they said the parts were on back order. During that time I understand Houston had a hurricane. Well now its been over 3 months and I still don't have my engine. The shop kept telling me its close to being ready. One week he told me it should be ready at the beginning of next week. Well, by Wednesday of that next week I still wasn't contacted about my engine. When I contacted them again saying I need a tracking number and a bill. The shop asked me where they needed to send it to and I told them. Never heard back from them on the tracking number or bill. Contacted Sharper Edge and let them know and never heard from them neither.Review fromCharlie P

1 starThis place is a joke. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. My husband bought a engine threw them and it was suppose to be a warranty . Theres were the joke begins . Called the company spoke with the owners wife . Then they continued texting back and fourth ??. Meanwhile in the text message she gives us the warranty places number to and continued to tell us DONT LET THEM VOID YOUR WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY WILL TRY . So when we called the warranty place that's exactly what they did. This place is a joke stay away at all cost !! Take your money to HONEST people!! We should of ordered from ******* motors!!! We learned our lesson a very expensive way . Don't make the same mistake we did !! Go somewhere else save yourself the headaches ??. Sharper Edge Engines is not an engine remanufacturer. They are a reseller of undisclosed 3rd party engines. First I will state that I have copies of all texts, e-mails, and all documents/receipts dealing with the remanufactured engine I purchased from them. It failed less than a year and 4400 miles after installation. I will not regale you with my experiences in getting my engine repaired by (thru) them (see Trust Pilot), but will only deal with the engine returned to me after their "repair". The crank shaft timing gear was secured with two nails. There were 4 bolts missing from the valve train. (I have photos) After replacing all the parts that had been requested by their mechanic, but not returned after 3 months of requesting them, the engine was reassembled and reinstalled. It did not run correctly. I notified Sharper Edge in early July (4 months after my returning the engine to them) that the returned engine was defective. CRICKETS! I continued to tell them it was not working during the 3 months of trying to resolve getting payment for the warranty post failure trouble shooting and labor hours, and for the parts that were not returned. In toto, in cost me approximately $1800 to troubleshoot and fix their "repaired" engine (that they repeatedly call remanufactured) they returned to me. The valves were installed such that they would not fully close resulting in a plethora of fault codes and an improperly running engine. I will pursue remuneration of those costs, as I did for the initial unpaid warranty provisions and parts that were not returned, through legal action. Happy Thanksgiving

dear ********, we apologize for all the trouble you have gone through, but we did remanufactured another engine and sent it back to you. unfortunately there is not much else we can do . there is quality of our engine and the other part is the installation. your mechanic was more looking to find problems instead of getting the job done and we can not help our customers when it comes to installation.I wish I could install it for you as well but I couldn't again we apologize for any inconvenience,.....Review fromLarry H

About 4 months ago I purchased a Audi TT Engine from **** and ***** over at Sharper Edge Engines. after 25 years owning a mechanic shop, I can realize who is lying and who is not. **** sounded very honest and he told me he had to let go all his employees because they lied about mileage to his customers. They were not only a great help but saved me a lot of money while sending a great product. I know people on here seem to be angry with **** but he was the most down to earth and real person I dealt with on the internet. Glad I did I suggest you do the same. we called many placed for months and every single one sounded too good to be true because I own a used car dealership and I know very well the prices. so I called **** on or about 5 months ago, for a 2011 ***** Equinox engine. he sounded honest and his prices and mileage was not surprising and sounded all true and honest. so we received it in 6 days , sooner than I expected. the engine seems well and we inspected it. I have to say we were very impressed with the whole process. from the first day we called to the day we received it, every thing was done fast and professional. ***** took care of ** when we called in for tracking as we were on the phone. I wrote all those because we were burnt so badly by a few other companies. so we are going to stay with Sharper Edge Engines when we need a replacement engine or Transmission.we highly recommend Sharper Edge Engines LLCSharper Edge Engines, LLC

I have purchased quite a few engines from different companies many *** engines and a few ****. I put in a for a quote via email for Sharper Edge Engines and a very polite young lady called me within a day of sending the email out. She left me a message to give them a call on their toll free number and gave me the extension of the owner Jack. I called at around 3:30 MDT not even thinking that Florida is 2 hours ahead of my time zone. I left a message to have them call me back and within ten minutes the owner Jack called me as he was checking the message machine on his way out the door. Jack and I talked for about an hour and a half after closing time. Jack quoted me the best price including shipping out of the whole list of people I had gotten quotes form as well as found me the engine for my Nissan X-terra with the lowest miles. I gotta say I was very impressed because even the local shops around here in the Black Hills of South Dakota were up to 1000 dollars more and I had to foot the bill for shipping. I would highly recommend this family run business to anyone in any state. The quality of care, attention to detail, and costumer service was amazing this kind of service is getting harder to find every day from good old fashioned people like Jack and his employees. 5 starson 11/22/2022 we purchased a 2018 Kia **** from **** at Sharper Edge Engines. at first he sounded rough but at the same time I felt like he isn't trying hard to sell and he is more honest and passionate rather than sweet sales man.... I got the engine less than 3 weeks as he promised and it looked like brand new. my mechanic inspected it and he was surprised by the quality of the engine. he installed it and it's been running very smooth.I decided to write this review because it's almost 6 months that my son has been driving it without a problem.I HIGHLY RECOMMAND THIS BUSINESS.Thank you **** and *****Review fromBen H

I purchased a Range Rover engine from these guys. I will say that Jack is a little gruff, but he's a no-nonsense kind of guy. He was very upfront about pricing. Was very honest and to the point, which I appreciated seeing as how my car was out of commission. Out of everyone that I called, he definitely gave me the best price. Yalda, who I believe works in customer service is a gem and was able to get me the quote within minutes. I have had zero issues with the engine I've purchased from these guys and it's been nearly nine months. My repair guy was impressed with the quality and that certainly made me feel confident about my purchase. Between the time I called for a quote and the time of the installation, the process really wasn't very long. I would have spent way more time and money at the dealership. When you spend a chunk of change on a Range Rover engine, you need to know that it's going to work. We spent $6,000 on a new rebuilt engine for a ******* and it lasted ****** miles and just a few months past their 1 year warranty. The owner would not make things right with us. Would not offer to help and quite frankly he hung up on me and I was being polite. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen and I am in this industry. BUYER BE AWARE! Dear Customer,we apologize if any inconvenience was caused from us. as on our policy page very clearly we have posted that any Korean, German, ******* Engine only comes with one year warranty. you purchased your engine on 08/25/2021 and you called on 04/11/2023.we make sure to ask the customers to change the oil every **** miles. the engine drove ***** miles. so the engine must have been perfect. the only problem can be found is the maintaining that engine was on time and correctly or not and that only you would know.engine is one part and good installation another but the most important is maintaining the engine after installation.Thank you very much **************
