In Sept 2020 hired this company to put a new roof on my house. They lured me in with the pace funding option, but it didn't cover the huge price they charged to re-shingle my roof. So they offered to let me make payments for the next 12 months to pay off the balance. Two weeks after the roof was finished it started to leak into my house. It took me the next 6 months to get them to come and fix it after saying I was going to use the money I owed them to hire a lawyer. Because the owner didn't want to fix the damage to the ceiling caused by the leak he offer me a discount on the remaining balance. I the made the large payment to pay off the balance. I then requested a receipt for the balance payed off , the lein they put on my property to be released, and a copy of my warrenty. To this date I have not received any of the paperwork requested, even after several attempts over the years. Recently I tried to get a ***** loan to do improvements on my house only to discover after all this time that the lein was still on my property. I have made several attempts to contact the company and after providing them with the proof that the balance was paid off 4 years ago they stopped responding to my messages. I have even provided them, by certified mail the form for them to fill out and submit to remove the lein and still months later it has not been done. They are nolonger responding to my phone calls or emails. As a result of the lein, I have been denied the loan to improve my house. I know this company thinks because I am of meager financial means that I won't be able to hire a lawyer to sue them. I am hoping you are able to help with this matter, before I resort to that process. I am sure I am not the first or last person they have done this to. Thank you for any assistance you can help with this situation. ***** * *******

Filing this on behalf of my 84 year old mother Alice Lee. She is selling her house and had to put a new roof on. Contracted with Total Restoration to have completed by 1/3 and unfortunately give a $5000 dollar deposit. He was unable to make the date so we contracted with another company which he was notified and he agreed to give back the deposit minus permit fees which is fine. However going to closing on the house and he still had the permit opened, when asked said he would close the permit if my mother agreed to sign an affidavit giving up claim to the deposit! Fortunately we were able to talk to city officials and get it closed. We still have not received her deposit. He left no receipt or signed contract unfortunately. Is this attempted blackmail? Address in dispute:

Deposit has been refunded.  They broke the contract and should not have been refunded any money at all.

On May 18th, 2022, I paid $2,111.00 to Total Restoration and Contracting LLC to repair my bathroom subfloor due to wood rot as apart of an agreement between myself and the sellers of the home that I currently purchased. The seller’s recommended Total Restoration and Contracting LLC. I had (1) worker come to my house about (2) weeks after the payment in a non-company vehicle, with no tools and didn’t do anything but look at pictures of the floor. Stated that he would be getting back with me after his previous job was completed. Approximately 2-3 weeks go by with no response. I contacted ******* the business owner to which he stated I will get someone out there to fix it. Another worker shows up to my house in a non-company pickup truck with a female and dog with no tools or supplies. He looks under the house and said “yeah, there is some rotting under there.” I asked him what the plan was to which he stated “**** hasn’t sent me a scope of work details.” I showed the employee the invoice with the scope of work. He then said “this is going to be a 3-4 day job.” I said I would be available this weekend. He said he would start Friday, but not sure how to do the tile work. I contacted **** and asked him what was the plan and he said he would get back with me to which he didn’t. I requested a refund from **** due to not being comfortable with the employees being under qualified for the job. **** stated that he would issue me a check for the full amount to which he didn’t. **** will not answer my phone calls or text. My Real Estate Agent has contacted the Co-owner *** to which he stated he would write a check and send it to me. About (10) days elapsed and still haven’t received a refund. *** will not answer the phone or texts from my Real Estate Agent. We have both attempted to contact *** and **** multiple times to no avail.
