Zero stars! I have been emailing them for months and they do not respond except to send me a yearly maintenance bill. I spoke to several representatives and they boldly lied on the phone to me. I have tried and tried and i dont know what other recourse i have but to come to the better business bureau... i just looked at so many reviews and this is absolutely unbelievable. How do people get away with this. So many people have the same issues as i do and yet it seems like the better business bureau is not doing anything to help the consumers. WE HAVE BEEN LIED TO, MANIPULATED, AND SCAMMED out of our money. And it feels like you might be just as bad as calypso cay. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.Review from Kurt B

I came to stay at Calypso Key on July 22nd to the 26th. I went to my presentation on July 23, 2024 and I stayed two hours and 15 minutes for the presentation. Ident told them I was not interested in the package. And I told him I wanted to leave. They told me I could not leave because I did not complete the package, I told him I was informed that I had to spend 90 minutes to 120 minutes for the presentation maximum. I ordered the two hours and I was ready to leave. I was no longer interested in their product. The sales person ***** told me that I could leave , so I asked to speak to a manager. I spoke with *******. He told me that I could leave, but I would not get the gifts that I was promised after doing the two hour presentation. I told him when I signed up they told me the only requirement was to attend two hour presentation which I did. I then asked him for pen and paper so I could write , everybodys name . He told me he did not have any pen or paper available. They then took me to speak to customer service. I spoke with another manager ****** and I explained the situation. I told him I was ready to leave. He told me that I would not get any of the gifts because I did not complete the presentation. I told him, the requirement that they said was two hours presentation and I did it. Then he became pleasure and he told me to get out of the building before he called the police. I told him I was leaving and he said to the representative make sure he does not get his gifts. while I was leaving, he was walking behind me all the way to the door and told me get out of here before I call the policeReview from Leslie J

We paid our mortgage/loan off with Timescape Resorts, LLC. / Calypso Cay years ago. We have been calling and trying to talk with ****** at Timescape Resorts LLC and calls keeps going to a mailbox that says full. When we did reach her (1x), on 1/29/24 she claim to have filed the deed with county. Its not filed, I spoke with the county clerk. I managed to get ****** again on 2/20 after numerous calls, again she lied and said I would have an email from her on 2/23. Have not received anything. They have neglected to record the mortgage as satisfied with the proper county offices. This needs to be settled or legal actions need to be takenReview from Linda V

Many years ago after my former husband and I were unwittingly lied to by multiple sales people we ended up buying not one but 2 weeks of timeshare because they said they had taken these timeshares back from a couple that was getting a divorce and we could buy them for what was owed on them. Well fast forward to our own marital issues.... they would not buy them back or even take them back for free as we offered to do. We tried renting the weeks out through Interval International (another joke) trading them for certificates that got us shabby resorts on terrible off weeks if at all. Tried to sell them for $1 or rent them cheap on Redweek, no takers. The maintenance fees kept going up and the special assessments (a whole extra maintenance fee in the same years) caused us so much financial hardship it was insane. We stayed at the property 3 times in all of those years as we couldn't afford the airfare after paying those fees. If you don't pay they send you to collections as soon as 30 days after it's due. The place got more run down with each stay. We finally had to pay thousands of dollars to a law firm specializing in this to get out of the timeshares as well. Bottom line DO NOT BUY A TIMESHARE they do nothing but give you false promises and take all of your savings. High pressure sales tactics offer you the world until you sign on the dotted line. The State of Florida should be ashamed by these practices but they are making money as well so they won't help you either. DO NOT BUY A TIMESHARE from here or anywhere for that matter. If you want to rent one do so on Redweek but DO NOT BUY ever.Review from Amy W

***BEDBUGS*** room was loaded with bedbugs! So we booked our vacation then got a call the night before that the room was “UNDER RENOVATIONS” & was no longer available! We had already moved things around & taken vacation so regardless we were going to come & stay somewhere in the area. We had around a 14hour drive. We were notified that the room was actually done, & we could come. We had already detoured from our plans and driving by that time. We were already out the money we had paid so we decided to just head that way & lose the first day of our vacation. We finally got to lay down around 3am. After 30-40 minutes in bed with the lights on I started seeing movement on the sheet & pillows. I jumped up immediately & said they have bugs in the bed. They were real fast moving around & very visible to the eye. They were not really scared of us like bugs typically are. Well that was because they were BEDBUGS AND THEY WERE HUNGRY! I was bitten several times and marks showed up over a few day period afterwards. Some on my face! front desk moved us to another room. We were advised that we needed to heat all of our clothes in the dryer for at least 20 minutes at 113° to kill the bedbugs that could already be on the clothing. We spent the entire next day after getting a few hours sleep and dealing with bite marks popping up on me drying everything. The unit that we were moved into I do not believe was cleaned prior to us going in it or it was not as clean as the room that we were previously in. The floors were nasty our feet were black after just a few minutes walking across them you could not wear socks inside or they would be just ruined. There was black mold around the tub rim in the master bathroom including hair in the Jets. The worst part of it all is I believe that they knew they had bedbugs all along and still had us come & stay in the room. There was a truck outside that was doing the extermination on the room on the back of the truck it said ROOM RENOVATORS!Review from James E

These meetings that they have you go to last for such a long long time. 2-3 hours, maybe even longer, with several sales people taking turns speaking with you about it all. They make these promises and tell you all the “benefits.” Well, we haven’t seen much of that as being accurate representation of what we actually purchased. We want out of this ownership, and we also want others to know to be leary when attending the meetings that they put on. Not all is what it seems, and we are now looking to get out of this entirely.Review from Wende B

They have my 2021maintenance fee and they won't acknowledge it, the amount was settled by a third party collector in September 2021 to the company's satisfaction. We have since sent them the pay off letter twice and since management has changed hands no one seems to know anything about this? Yet they accepted our monies. We called Fall of 2021 to change the deed and to pay our 2022 maintenance fee but they not only won't let us change the deed but the keep insisting that we owe them for 2021. We have made several calls and left numerous messages most of which were not returned. We have gone up the chain with everyone claiming ignorance, if I could I would get out of this time share but I want to get the usage we paid for, this is a terribly run "outfit' Please adviseReview from Margaret H

Buying a timeshare through Calypso Cay is the worst decision I have ever made. In 2016 I took a vacation that I bought with a discounted rate certificate and when I arrived, I was told it was required that I attend a presentation. During the presentation, I was told that I would be able to take weeklong vacations for $99 and have easy transportation access to Disney and Universal Studios. Sales staff said I would own a deeded property and would have options to sell. I was promised that my ownership week would be the same week I was there (for Spring Break), but I was given a different week. Any time I said I was not interested and tried to leave, another salesperson would come and offer cheaper deals and spew all the same "facts" at me. None of the aforementioned promises were true. During my next vacation, I attended a meeting to discuss the first fraudulent sale and how it was going to be fixed. After 4 hours of being pressured by multiple reps, I paid a deposit to change points. I was promised the ability to make money back by renting out the points but that was yet another lie. I also did not get my new deed for this transaction until Sept. 2021. I have spent approximately $22,000 for a total of 2 vacations (10 total nights). That's $2,200 per night. WHAT A SCAM!!!!
