I want to review this Addition Financial Credit Union because I been we them since 05/01/1998 almost 27 years, never paid any payment on credit card and loan late and now that I need help with a loan a second mortgage loan they denied me because I have to ***** account to pay and 1 account on collection that is not my and I am working with them to take it out of my credit. Now to loan was to pay all my bills in one loan and what I owed them so I dont see why denied me because the loan was precisely for that and I was going to have only one loan so problem ********** the sad part was that I had been loyal to them for 27 years but they were not to me they didnt care about my 27 years being loyal they just cared about money and no people so for every one out there look for a better bank or credit union if you are looking to be long time with them and I really tell you this people and this credit unions are not good so I am going to look for a different bank and forget about this one because they turned their back on me when I needed them most.

We had fraudulent activity take place in our checking account. This stemmed from receiving a text message from the central Florida expressway requesting that we pay our unpaid tolls to avoid a ticket. I clicked on the link and attempted to pay, not realizing this was a scam. I knew my daughter had tolls I needed to attend to. My ***** Pay told me the charge was possible fraud, so I cancelled the payment. Less than a week later I received a text from our bank telling me there were fraudulent charges. I responded yes and received a call from who I thought was the fraud department from our banks my contact for the bank showed up on my phone so I felt safe answering this call. I answered questions and then verified fraudulent charges on my account. I logged into my account while on the phone. I can only guess that when I did so they were able to obtain access. It showed almost a ************************* which I did not make. The next day I had a $500+ charge for target wiping out my account(a few days before payday). I cancelled my card and had my husband get a new card for me from the bank. We filed claims realizing we were taken advantage of. We went to our local branch and feeling our account was compromised had the bank create a new account. After investigating, the bank determined they were not responsible to protect my account and denied reimbursement. My mother had tolls help us make it to pay day because our account was emptied. We have been accused of not being forthcoming in this investigation. We feel vulnerable and unprotected by the bank. We are NOT getting our $ back because the bank stated the money spent was in places we have shopped. Yes, I do have Grubhub. Yes, I have shopped at target. However, I did not make these charges. We WERE victims of fraud and do not feel like the bank is protecting us.

According to Addition Financial, we were told that we provided information to these scammers. We did not give them access to our banking. We incurred $70 in fees as a result of our banking account going into the red. We work very hard for the money that we make and would appreciate to at least be credited back the $70 in fees, which they could easily do. This scam is weeks later widely hitting the public. We were victims of the toll scam when it initially hit our local area. When you are texted information that looks just like that of your financial institution stating your account has been subject to fraud, why would you not believe it? This has been eye opening and is scary. We answered a phone call with our banks phone number from my contact list and truly believed I was speaking to a representative of the fraud department. I understand that banks are financial institutions and have their own best interest in mind. I do not have faith that additional financial is interested in protecting me as a consumer. The amount scammed from us is a big deal to our family and has hurt our ability to stay on top of our bills.

      Sincerely,

Addition financial is demanding payment in full within 60 days for a remaining balance on a car that was totaled. I was informed on multiple occasions from Addition employees ( I do not have the names) that we could continue paying off the balance with auto pay and the original loan terms but instead received a call from their collections department with the demand. I'm being told to come up with over $5,000 or be sent to collections.

Details:I am a customer of ********************************************* and have an active loan with the institution. Recently, my bank account was frozen due to fraudulent activity, which disrupted my automatic credit card payments. When I attempted to update my payment information to avoid a missed payment, I discovered that Addition Financial's website did not offer a way to modify my payment method under these circumstances.Despite my inability to address this issue online, Addition Financial proceeded to charge me a late fee. I find this unacceptable, as the situation was beyond my control, and I made a good faith effort to resolve it.I am filing this complaint for the following reasons:Unfair Late Fee: The late fee was applied despite my inability to rectify the issue due to limitations on the company's *************** Functionality: The website lacks adequate options to address critical situations like frozen bank accounts or updating payment methods in emergencies.Improvement Needed: Addition Financial needs to improve its digital infrastructure to support customers in managing payments effectively under extraordinary circumstances.I request the following resolution:Refund the late fee charged to my account.Commit to addressing these gaps in the online payment system to prevent similar issues for other customers.I am filing this complaint to ensure others are aware of these issues and to encourage Addition Financial to make necessary improvements.Desired Outcome: Refund of the late fee and website improvements.

I had a checking account with ********************************************* for about 10 years, which had overdraft protection enabled. This summer, I transferred most of my money to a different bank, but accidentally left automatic billing for some of my services pointed to the Addition Financial account. In the span of a few weeks, my account balance went to -$499 due to a series of $35 overdraft fees. I was not notified of any of these overdrafts, and found out after logging in to online banking later. On the website there was no call-to-action asking me to resolve my account balance, or information about any consequences for not resolving my account balance. At a later date, I tried to log in to online banking to pay the balance, and found that my account was disabled. I was not warned that my account would be disabled, neither by phone, email, or physical mail. During this time period, the only communications I received from Addition Financial were marketing emails about new services. I cannot provide dates for many of these events, because I can no longer access my online banking history. To restore access, they have asked that I pay the balance (now $539.11) by sending a cashier's check or money order in the mail. I would like the total cost of the fees, the cashier's check, and the postage stamp ($544.84) credited to my account. I would also like Addition Financial to investigate their communication practices, to make this situation less likely in the future. And I would like Addition Financial to make banking records available to former members whose accounts have been closed, for audit purposes.

      Dear BBB Consumer Affairs Representative:
Thank you for forwarding ***** **** **** *****) correspondence regarding Addition Financial Credit Union (Addition Financial or Credit Union). Addition Financials **************** has reviewed Mr. ***** concerns to ensure that he was treated properly by the Credit Union.

This review included the details of Mr. ***** transactions and the communication we have provided.  Each time Mr. ***** account had an overdraft a letter was sent to him explaining the transaction as well as the fee associated with the courtesy pay service.  The letters mailed were as follows:

      8/10/2024: A debit card transaction from *****

On 8/18/2024, the Credit Union sent out a first notice of the checking account being overdrawn for 17+ days. After that on 8/25/2024, we sent a second notice of the checking account being overdrawn for 24+ days.  The letter stated to continue with the checking account and ********************************************* privileges, a payment was necessary within five days to bring the account current. On 9/1/2024, the Credit Union sent a letter going over the status of Mr.***** account, the current balance, and the request to satisfy the negative balance.  We have communicated with multiple letters reviewing Mr. ***** account and giving him an opportunity to satisfy the negative account balance. While an account is still active, we encourage our members to regularly monitor their account balances through online banking to ensure they maintain sufficient funds to cover their transactions. We have reviewed all the documentation and have decided that we will not be refunding any fees associated to Mr. ***** account.

Unfortunately, Addition Financial Credit Union is unable to process the complaint as we cannot identify the complainant in our records as a member of Addition Financial.  To proceed with the complaint would require the full name of the complainant, a clear description of the problem with details of the product or service involved and what the complainant hopes to achieve through the complaint.  Once we receive this information, we would conduct an investigation of the matter. Thank you.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this business, please let the business know that you contacted BBB for a BBB Business Profile.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation.
