I am complaining about this Apartment complex due to the fact that they provide misleading information very frequently to engage the people to their not disclosed charges in a monthly basis. When I first visit this place to consider it for residency they showed me the gym, which in the 1 year and 10 months that I lived there I just could use it twice since it was recently enabled for use. With the excuse of being under construction, the majority of these amenities were closed. This is supposed to be a gated community and the rear entrance which was right next to my apartment has never worked. Anybody could enter to the apartment complex through it. It is currently open. This is a very frequent complaint by the majority of the residents. In spite of all these, I decided to renew the lease waiting for all the construction to be completed and to be able to enjoy the pool, the gym. When I discussed the renewal with the leasing assistant, ************************************************** a proactive way to see how much the lease was going to be. The assistant ************ told me that it was only going to be $100 dollars more a month. She never mentioned that they were including a $75 Technology fee covering the internet service and at that moment I was giving a subsidy for this utility by the government because I qualified for it and I was getting internet service for free. They kept saying that I needed to work this issue with the third provider of the service directly, which I did, but meanwhile I needed to continue paying for it. The associate stated that he was going to fix it and reimburse me. It never happened and that was the reason I broke the lease and paid the fee stipulated in the contract which was $3350. When I told them how to go about it, ******************* told me to pay the amount plus what I usually pay for water monthly. So in total, I paid them $3400.00 and now they say I owed them $80 final release fee plus $150 late charge. It's a total scam!!!

            Business response

            08/22/2024

After review of the file and discussion with employees who handled the move out, there are no late fees charged to the ledger. The $150 charge was for damage to the tub surface, where details were provided with the Final Account Statement.  Per the attached document providing by the complainant, the reason for moving was due to work transfer.  Additionally, per the lease that was signed on 12/14/2023, technology fees were listed and clear that were being charged on the renewal. The final balance due is $230.26 which consists of the damage charges as well as final utility fees.  Payment can be made to the management office by 8/30/24 in order to avoid being forwarded to collection agency.  Our apologies that you were unhappy with your residency, but wish you the best in your next endeavors.

            Thank you.
