I purchased the solar system from ******** in 2018 and was told that it was in warranty for life and if any issues occurred that they would repair all parts for no cost. The system stopped working and when I contacted the company they said that ******* went out of business and that they would not repair or send a server person out without paying a $400.00 fee. Or I could get a maintenance contract for $59.00 per month with a $200.00 fee per service call or I could upgrade to a 5 year service contract for $79.00 per month with a 5 year contract which would include cleaning and maintenance and removal if I had to replace my roof. Now I have a system that I paid $24321. that is useless. I am not sure if anything could be done to rectify this matter but if so it would be much appreciated.Initial Complaint

I was lied to from the beginning from this company. I was told my electric bill would be $10, and it was not. I had a lot of things falling apart. Spent years trying to get someone to come out. They installed a hot water heater in the middle of the night. I couldn't get them to come out. They had pushed all my insulation aside. I have text messages where I made numerous calls trying to get things fixed. No one would return a call. I have. I believe filed with a Better Business Bureau on behalf of someone else. This company has refused to do anything and I see that it has ripped off many other people. I spent a lot of money and I have solar panels that don't work. And now they are in breach of contract and they just send a an email of some sort saying that they've gone out of business and I wanted to know since they breached the contract, what I can do to reclaim any of this money spent on these non-working solar panels and the money that I've spent on the hot water heater.Initial Complaint

sUNTEC took my panels off on June 28th and I'm still waiting for them to be put back on!!!! No one ever calls back when you leave a message!!! This is ridiculous. They were paid in advance. When I message the sales guy he gives a different excuse each time, and is now out of excuses so he doesnt respond. Here it is 10/1/24, and the email addresses that used to work are all now kicking back saying the email address could not be found.Initial Complaint

In December ************************************** called SUN-TEC *********************************************** after several setbacks with the excuse that the city, the inspection, etc. finally at the end of January 2024 solar panels were installed on my roof ,according to They use the latest technology that exists in solar panel, from the beginning we had certain problems, at the beginning this ** always answered on one occasion we had to reset something in the electrical panel with someone on the phone who told us what we had to do We understand that in the first month or second we would not have a big difference with the *** bill, but to date, 8 months after the *** bill, it has not decreased, otherwise we are paying more than $300. We have tried to contact the ******* company several times. by phone leaving messages they never respond, emails that don't respond either, we don't know what to do, but the truth is that we are paying for something that is not working for us, so we need help, at the moment we star considered to find a lawyer for this matter if you BBB can't resolve .Initial Complaint

I have a signed contract with Sun-Tec Solar and Roofing to install a Tesla Solar Battery backup for my roof top solar panels. Sun-tec cashed my check for $11,813 on June 17th. Sun-Tec refuses to answer calls or respond to emails. My sales representative, Charles D********* *** ********* tells me Sun-Tec will not return his calls and owes him payment for a couple of sales as well.Initial Complaint

The solar panel company charged me to be able to remove the solar panels upon install of solar panels. Not sure on the exact price because there was specific line item, however the total cost of the solar panels were $26,000. Now that I have called them to removed the solar panels as contracted they advised me that they are going out of business due to filing bankruptcy.. The solar panel company also did not close out the original permits for the job. Now I must reopen the original permit and have that closed out before I can pull a second permit to temporarily remove the solar panels, just to redo/ replace the roof. Upon completion of the roof. There is a third permit needed to be filed and submitted to place the panels back on. There are permitting fees for each permit which was already paid with the original install of the solar panels.Initial Complaint

On April 25th, 2024, we met with Sun-Tec Solar, whom we had previously bought our Solar Panel System from. Are contact was Marcus M****** from Sun-Tec Solar & Roofing, about replacing our roof that is now leaking. We cut a (check # 5143) on that same day for $7,800. 1/2 of the price of removal and replacing of our Solar panels, gutters, and replacement of the roof that is failing. It's been OVER 4 months now and we have been getting excuses and delays from them from the start, and now they will not even answer their phone or give us a call back. We have tried every day for the past month to get hold of them. We are elderly retired; my Husband is bedridden & I am legally blind and can no longer drive. We are having to rely on our neighbor to wright this letter and praying that someone can Please help us to at the least get our $$ back so we can get someone to fix our roof before it gets any worse and we will have to pay more $ to fix & or replace other stuff form our home due to the water damage. My Husband is on oxygen, and we cannot afford for mold to start growing on our ceiling or walls because of this. Please help us!!!Initial Complaint

Purchased solar panels from suntec 2 years prior, had to get a new roof installed paid for a new roof and reinstall of solar panel form suntec costing me over $20,000, roof was finished and the end of june 2024 tried calling the company to install solar panels no response paid there bill in full, no contact in over 2 months we are in the Septemeber 2024 with no response from the company.Initial Complaint

I hired this company to install a solar battery backup to my current system they came out and did a partial install because some parts were not supplied Initially after the parts were received at my home by *** i called to let them know the parts were here, it took another week before anyone would come out to finish the instal after several calls I made to them they informed me that the installer had brake problems with his truck and he would be out after they were fixed, that took a wekk be fore they finally came after I called the loan company to complain and many unreturned voice and text messages.they finally came and finish the install however, there is a problem with the installattion which was completed over a week ago and that issue is the battery isn't charging like it should. I was informed by the company that monitors the system that there is some part of the system that is connected wrong after troubleshooting the system. I spoke with a person on Monday 26th of August who said she reveived the email from Enpase about the issue, since then i have spoken to the salesman that said he contacted his boss and they are aware of the issue but again no calls are answered and no one has come out to fix the problem.Initial Complaint

Last year we had to replace the roof on our house located at *********************************** due to a water leak from our roof. Sun-Tec Solar Energy originally installed about 20 solar panels on our roof around 2016/2017. The roofer had advised us to use the same company to remove and reinstall the 20 solar panels. Before installing the new roof last May, we contacted Sun-Tec and entered into a contract with them for the removal and re-installation of the solar panels after the new roof was completed. ******* charged us about $5,700 for the removal and reinstallation of the solar panels. We paid the whole amount. They removed the solar panels for us in May 2023 before our roof was installed and re-installed them in September 2023, a few months after our new roof was installed. We had to wait about 3 months for them to re-install it because they are extremely busy. Since they had reinstalled the 20 solar panels last September, the solar panels have not been working. The *** monthly bills kept getting higher. We contacted ******* several times about this issue, they finally sent a technician to check it by the end of last year. The technician said that everything is working properly, and that he was going to send us some proof that we can take to ***, but we never received anything from Sun-Tec. I have attached the *** energy consummation chart to show that the panels are hardly working. We need Sun-Tec to fix our solar panels immediately because we don't see any savings from *** bills.
