Chris Gould gave us a quote to install leaf guards on our exiting gutters of $1900.00 on 4/1/23. He required Approximately 1/3 down, witch I gave him $650.00. On 4/4/23 his wife called and told me that Chris made a mistake and the quote should have been $500.00 more and if he hade to he would the job for the original price. I told her that we didn't want to proceed and to drop off our check, she said he would drop it off our they would mail it. I waited until 4/14/23 and did not receive a check, I then called them and left a message to return my call which they did not. On 4/15/23 I drove to their residence and spoke to Chris Gould and he told me that he would return the material and drop off the $650.00 on Monday 4/17/23 or Tuesday 4/18/23, which did not happen. To this date I have not heard from them

Contracted with Gould's Gutters on April 8, 2022 and gave them a deposit in the amount of $360.00. They gave excuse after excuse as to why they were not installing my gutters. After I accused them of being a scam company, they took offense and denied everything. All I really wanted was my gutter system. They finally agreed to install on May 31, 2022, but that happened to be the day I was having land clearing done, so I asked them to postpone for a day or two. Then they were supposed to come on June 3, but did not make it and no call from them. Then they promised to come first thing Monday, June 6. After they didn't show up on Monday I was finally able to get in contact with them and they said they were on the way. After I sent many texts and phone calls because they still had not shown up, I received a text from Chris saying to forget it, I was bugging him too much and he was just going to return my deposit. Last correspondence was 6/9/2022, an email from Chris, cursing at me, calling me crazy, etc. saying they were mailing my deposit refund of $360.00. They have still not returned my deposit. I have sent an email almost everyday asking, with no reply. My last email I told them the only conclusion I can come to is they they intend on stealing my money. No response. I am attaching the text of the final email I received from Chris at Gould's Gutters on June 9, 2022.

    Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/01) */ Contact Name and Title: Chris ***** Contact Phone: 7272691585 Contact Email: [email protected] Hi this complaint came up early July 2022 we ended up falling behind in jobs because of material and then illness. Which made us post pone his job. And everything was fine untill he all of a sudden went from nice to ignorant . Let me note that I didn't read his complaint I'm just telling the the truth of the matter. We have emails and text to prove everything. During the time of postponing and rescheduling he never once asked for his deposit back. I run the company pretty much by myself and I ended up getting sick and still sick. Trying to put everything together. We told him that we would do the job and planned on doing it. Then like I said he ask just a couple of weeks ago for his deposit back and instead of arguing we said that it was fine and he gave me a time limit on when he needed it back or he would write a complaint. And a bunch of other stuff. Well once you pay a deposit we buy the material and honestly never had to return anything before but his was a special item and couldn't be used somewhere else. Also. Being in position I'm in lately I just didn't want to throw more money into this consideration g the deposit isn't all the material it's a portion of it. Meaning there's more money down on this so I waiting for a return to credit from my supplier and then I was going to send him his money back I actually offered at the time for him just to come pick it up. Because of the way he was acting threatening and name calling. But when he didn't I said that I would mail it and I decided to wait till I was refunded. Like I said I was still going to do his job I wasn't scamming him like he wanted to say. I've been in a really rough spot lately with my health and I'm completing more jobs daily bigger and smaller jobs then his. He just turned into a real piece of work for no reason towards the secretary and it was all because we postponed. It was a few times and fully understand him wanting it back and have no problem with giving it to him he was just going to have to wait. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/07/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The business owner never told me he was sick and was falling behind until the final day he was supposed to do the job. He states that he didn't even read the complaint? Why not?. Does he think this is a joke? It's just been excuses after excuses. I always would have preferred the gutters instead of the deposit. The last day that he was scheduled to come, he was the one that said forget it, that I was bugging him too much, and he wouldn't do the job. He said he would refund my deposit. I'm wondering if they ever actually do any jobs at all. As you read in the email response I sent, they indicated that they were mailing the deposit refund. Nowhere did it state that he was going to wait for his refund before sending mine. So you see the pattern here, they just make it up as they go along. More excuses. I demand my refund immediately as he was the one to ultimately cancel the job, not me.
