Nearly two months to get a warranty claim INSPECTION and it still isnt done. **************** is terrible as I continually have to follow up with them.Aug 25: Called in warranty claim for my roof Aug 26: **************** approved Collis to inspect roof Aug 29: I called Collis again and they told me they would be out on Sept 5.Sept 5: The technician showed up an hour before the scheduled time and told the tenant through the ring camera that because it was raining he would need to reschedule anyways. No call was given between the 29th and the 5th. No confirmation email or heads up phone call. No call to reschedule occurred either.Sept 9: Called Collis who told me they'd call me back when they figured out the schedule.Sept 10: Collis called and asked for an appointment the next day. I told them no one would be home but a key would be left.Sept 11: Collis came to house (supposedly). No one showed on the ring camera. Sept 12: I called Collis to ensure they did come out. At no point during this call did they mention that it was their policy that someone must be home. In fact, I had been assured two different times, by two different people that inside access was not required and that they were reviewing the inspection and would get back to me in the next week or so.Sept 20: Collis calls to tell me that they do in fact need to go in the house. Rescheduled for Sept 26th.Sept 26: Hurricane comes through. Collis understandably cancels existing appointment. Roof and ceiling is now heavily sagging because it still hasn't been inspected.Sept 30: I call Collis to find out when inspection will be done. They tell me Oct 9th.Oct 9th: Hurricane comes through. Collis understandably cancels existing appointment. Roof and ceiling are now considerably worse due to lack of repairs. Oct 12th: Collis no shows their appointment.Oct 19th: Next scheduled appointment I want Collis to pay for the repair to my ceiling as well as my roof due to their delays.Business Response

We apologies for the confusion in scheduling and delay due to the recent storms weve been experiencing. We were able to successfully evaluate the area of concern on Saturday 10/19 as stated and have determined it was not a roofing issue, but a window leak. We reached out to the homeowner middle of last week and left a message advising of our findings and suggesting she reach out to a window repair company to complete the necessary repairs.

I am rejecting this response because Collis still took nearly two months to evaluate. There were additionally several holes on the roof that I patched that the roofers did not address. They also spoke to my tenants and told them there was wood rot and mold which unnecessarily scared my tenants. If Collis had evaluated the roof in a timely manner, I could have identified the issue sooner and minimized damage. I also now have terrified tenants. Collis or any service provider should not be talking to tenants directly about the resolution. Finally, the tenants were informed of the issue on 10/19 and I was not informed by Collis about it being the window until several days later. Still an awful company to work with.
Sincerely,

April 2018,Collis roofing put a new roof on my house after Hurricane **** blew it off. They charged me near ******** and over ******** for new wood to replace rotten wood. The new roof is only 6 and a half years old a fascia board is rottting along with the soffit boards, this was last Saturday that i noticed it September28 2024,i got in touch with someone from Collis and told me that someone would be out within this week, bad that it takes that long,Today October 2 2024 I checked the roof and it has scattered holes on the left side of the roof and the seams are all going on the roof.Thiis company ought to be ashamed of themsel, ves for the shoddy material they charged me for,a lot of money i paid them. The warrant was up last year at 5 years.Very unhappy with this company.Business Response

We have been in contact every day with the homeowner since his request came in and hes consistently been advised due to the recent storm and influx in requests, is it about a 1 week call back for scheduling. We are doing everything we can to work quickly through the requests but with the recent influx, have not had a chance to go schedule the evaluation. We are still within our weeks time frame to provide a call back for scheduling, and our team is working diligently to schedule an evaluation. He should be receiving a call by the end of the week to schedule an evaluation of his roof concerns so we can come up with a solution that satisfies both parties.Customer Answer

upon inspection by a licensed inspector for our new homeowner policy it was found that our 2 yr old roof had buckling of roof shingles, after attempting to work with Collis they have deemed there are no issues and no repairs are needed which is contrary to the inspector findingsBusiness Response
Date: 09/13/2024
The appearance of buckling of asphalt shingles is generally due to an uneven roof deck, wrinkled underlayment, and/or movement of roof sheathing. As a result, newly installed shingles may appear wavy or wrinkled because asphalt shingles will conform to imperfections in the underlayment and the roof sheathing, causing irregular shapes to transfer through the surface of the roof covering. The slightly raised areas will not affect the performance of the asphalt shingles.
Weve reached out to the homeowner in attempts to go on site to take pictures, provide her with a roofers certified inspection report, as well as a certified letter from the manufacturer showing there are no issues with the roof and all warranties are fully upheld. The homeowner has advised that she will reach back out to us when she is ready to move forward with the documents and pictures.
At this time, there are no issues with the roofs integrity therefore no repairs are needed to be made.Customer Answer

This company was on my property for 5 hours--on the roof without my consent. I was not informed of anything. They state they don't want to get involved when asked any questions. They parked their pickup truck in the driveway which resulted in cracked pavers. They laid cartons of roofing tiles on the driveway and up against the garage door. Replace damaged driveway pavers. Picture secured as proof of this.Customer Answer

When were they on my property doing an inspection? What did the inspection show? They previously told me they dd not want to get involved. The builder said they were hired to do an inspection and they can answer any questions I have.
When was the inspection?
What did it show?

The builder requested us to go and inspect this home August 2023. They decided to go with ****** Roofing to perform the necessary repairs needed. You should follow up with them for any discrepancies as we did not do any recent work at this property.Customer Answer

Again asking what did the roof inspection show? Provide details as I have not been given any information. The builder won't respond but said that you would answer any questions. You are both pointing fingers at each other. What date were you on this property? Did you submit a report them which they rejected? Send BBB a *** to forward into me. I have not been told anything

Our inspection was requested by the builder. When we have an evaluation of an area by the builder we turn in our findings and report to them. A normal inspection takes only about ***** minutes, barring any extreme issues. If you would care for more information regarding that report from our company, please get the builder. An inspection/evaluation is only where our technician would walk the roof and take pictures to see what further would be needed. We would not leave any tile or shingles at the time of an evaluation/inspection as we would not have been aware of what was needed to bring. Our technicians do not park on driveways when they arrive for an evaluation or work on a home. It is our company policy that they park on the street only. The actual work of your repair was not performed by Collis, but by ****** roofing. The evaluation/inspection requested by the builder was done by us in August of 2023.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:The builder said nothing about this. Nothing before this inspection and nothing after. I had a truck parked in my driveway and roofing tiles on the driveway and leaning up against the garage door. The home was sold in May. No one told me anyone was coming here to go on the roof or come on this property. Where is this inspection report that was done? I never was told anything ad never given the report. What did it show? Builder says nothing.

This company came on my property without my knowledge or consent. They were here after the purchase of the home when I was living here. The builder said the roofing company put on a new roof. The builder also said they replaced the attached roof of my adjoining neighbor. Not true. The builder lied about work the contractor (roofing company) did. Seems very illegal. The lies and fraud here are amazing. I have never seen an inspection report. The builder says to contact roofing company. The roofing company says to contact builder.

I purchased a new construction house from Richmond American Homes. Collis Roofing was the contractor that installed the roof on my home. ******** provides a one year warranty and after the year all warranty claims are required to be handled directly with the subcontractors In December of 2023 I was hanging Christmas lights for the first time since owning the home and noticed over a dozen exposed nails nailed through the shingles and rusting. Obviously this is an issue as shingles are supposed to be overlapped on the nail line to prevent leaks. I called Collis Roofing immediately upon finding this and they said they would need to send a member from their team to come look at the roof. They came out on February 7th 2024 and said they would report the findings to their manager and we should hear something back soon. Since that date I have called every week and never been able to get ahold of *********************************** who I was told was the person handling my case. I must of left 10 voicemails looking for an update and no one would get back to me. Finally after leaving them a negative ****** review, they sent me an email within an hour stating they are not going to fix the roof and I would need to pay for the improperly installed shingles. They are stating the roof did not have these exposed nails when they completed the roof however they cannot provide me with any photos to support their claim. They are saying another contractor must of driven over 20 random nails through my shingles for some unknown reason. I would like Collis Roofing to take responsibility and repair all the shingles that have ***** nails driven through them.Business Response
Date: 03/18/2024
************** informed one of the homeowners on site and our office admin has informed the other homeowner that the exposed nails in question are not roofing nails. The home builder has agreed the area in question was not a roofing nail or any fault caused by Collis Roofing. The home builder has assumed all responsibility and will be covering the cost of repairs. This repair has since been scheduled with the homeowner.Customer Answer

I moved into my brand-new home around July 2020. Collis Roofing did minor repairs in 2021, and for the last seven months, I have been asking Collis to come out and fix additional ****s that appear to be loose or broken. Collis kept assuring me I was on the schedule. I waited patiently because I preferred to work with the original installer. A little over two weeks ago, on January 23, the situation became critical. Around 8:30 am that morning, a clay **** slid off the roof and damaged the hood of his vehicle. Only 30 minutes before, a pool technician had been standing in the same spot; I have no doubt the impact would have killed him. Collis has not responded to my calls/emails since that day, so I called another roofer to assess the situation. The drone footage showed that about 40 ****s that have slid out or are in the process of sliding due to there being no screws holding them in place. I was also told by the roofer that it appears the rest of the ****s on the roof have only 1 s**** holding them when he has been told they should have 2 screws. The ****s with 1 s**** will most likely slide out over time as well. Collis, the installers, appear to have been grossly negligent and we are not using that term loosely. It is a dangerous situation for me and my family. I would not recommend them to anyone at this point as they do not stand behind their products. The office girl, ***** told me that they sub out their work to other vendors so at this point I am not even sure the company who they had do the installation is even reputable!! PLEASE save yourself the time and go find ANY other Roofer!!!Business Response

I had Collis replace my roof from hail damage. After it was replaced I had leaks in my roof by a window where I found out they did not replace the flashing. They came out and rigged it with wood it looked terrible. I complained and they put a piece of metal over it. The leak was still there they came out and patched it again. They told me that would take care of it instead of fixing it right and replacing the flashing. I called the next time it leaked and they gave me a bunch of excuses and it wasn’t their issue. After the last storm they came out again due to the amount of damage and told me that when the rain blows sideways it goes under the window where the flashing was not replaced. I have not heard from them since. This should have all been covered under my 5 year warranty but the choose to ignore it.Business Response

Our roof was completed on January 25. 2023. and our gutters were installed February 9. 2023. My Complaint with Collis is they don't follow thru on completing the job to satisfaction from the homeowner. My first problem I encountered was my walkway patio light was broken from a ground tarp that was layer on the ground for roof debris. The roofing Foreman saw the broken Light and took pictures as well as Jonthan S******* our sales person. I was told to get it fixed and send the invoice to Jonthan S******** I got it replaced by the same company that did the original install of my Patio Light. I was told by Jonthan S******* on February 13, 2023 to send him the invoice for the light and he said he would forward it to the right person in his company. On February 10, 2023 I sent pictures of one of my downspouts that was cut too short by about 10 inches I sent Jonthan 2 pictures. On February 20, 2023 I texted Jonthan S******* to get a status of my Downspout getting fixed. He replied on Feb 21, 2023, with Quote "Emailed office. Checking status. On February 22, 2023 I texted Jonthan again and asked why it's taking so long to get my gutter fixed. I asked what's the hold up? Jonthan replied, It was put on schedule. They will be out soon. I also asked on February 22, 2023 about my money being returned for the cost of my patio light. Jonthan replied, It goes to the back office to get signed off and check written, I will be there in the morning and check on it. If check not sent I can grab and drop off. -I responded OK, Thanks Friday Feb 24, 2023, I texted Jonathan and asked, was my check mailed yet? I got no answer So I texted again on Monday Feb 27, 2023 asking the same question, was my check mailed yet? Jonthan answered and told me he never made it to his corporate side that day. He asked if my gutter got fixed yet? I replied No, the gutter has not been fixed yet, Jonthan replied, It was sent to punch out, I'll make sure they get there this week. Again I replied, OK Thank you. On March 2, 2023 I texted Jonthan again to let him know my gutter is still not fixed and I have not received my check for my patio walk light Then on Friday March 3, 2023 Jonathan said, office requesting the copy of invoice be sent to this email so the check can be cut today. *************************** I responded back to let him know I emailed the invoice the same day March, 3,2023 On March 6, 2023 I texted Jonathan again and stated, Jonathan this is not good business having to wait over a month to get my gutter fixed. Is there someone in your company I can escalate my concern to or do I need to get a lawyer to get results.. I have not received any more responses from any Collis Roofing personnel. Bottom Line I paid cash in full for my roof and gutters before my gutters were even replaced. I want my money returned back to me for the cost of my Patio Light and I want my Gutter spout fixed. Thank You *** *Business Response

We purchased our new home at 1**** ***** **** *** on December of 2016. After Hurricane Ian in 2022, **** (Our Home Insurance Agency) inspected our roof for damages, Claim number ************** The inspector (Douglas M********, mobile numbe* ************) noticed one loose shingle and he stated that the roof has some premature failure, such as ridge caps blistering and nail pops. The inspector explained to my wife and I that the ridge caps blistering seen to be from a different (older batch of shingles that were installed on the roof when the house was built in 2016 and that the nail pops was because workmanship. Since them the shingle that was loose was glued back on using premium shingle to prevent any leaks. On December 6, Collis Roofing sent an inspector to inspect the roof, he stated that he could not find the defects that **** had previously identified. He mentioned that he noticed that some shingles had loss the sandy surface and that for his Collis Roofing to come out for the loose shingle the minimum amount that they will charge was approximately $600-$700 dollars (I believe that is what he said). But that they were going to send me an estimate (proposal) for the repairs. After a month of waiting I contacted their office but as of today I haven't heard anything. As homeowners we trust **** as a recognized insurance in the United States and have no reason why to doubt them. We are requesting that Collis Roofing honor and conduct the necessary repairs on our roof at no cost to us. The inspector from Collis Roofing did not provide me with a business card or written inspection findings.Business Response
Date: 02/16/2023
Collis intends on taking care of the lifted ridge caps however, there are several shingles that have stucco damage that we quoted as a billable repair as this was no fault of Collis. We attempted to reached out to the customer last week before emailing the detailed proposal over but couldn’t get them by phone. We left detailed message of our findings also advising that the proposal was sent out and ready for review, but we have yet to receive a call back to discuss further.Business Response

Collis Roofing sent out the tile department manager to meet with **************** Thursday January ******************** review, we encountered the correct terminations and flashings were installed at all the Soffit/Roof transitions and there are no loose/slid tile as well as no leaks. The issue is raccoons and squirrels pulling it loose and entering the attic. Although we are not a critter control company, if this service had been requested before the work began,it could have been negotiated into the contract. Since **************** is such a loyal customer, we have agreed to seal up all these areas with some rigid materials to keep critters with no cost to the customer. This courtesy repair is scheduled to be taken care of by end of business today, January 18th, 2023.
