Space Coast ** has been billing me for flood insurance to cover the building of condominium complex. I own one unit yet I am being billed for a building because the ** claims the condo does not have flood insurance even though I have emailed and faxed them evidence provided by the condo association. I have spoken to over a dozen ** employees who say they will resolve the problem but they never do and I still get bills.After many attempts, emails, calls, faxes, and other actions instructed by the **, I believe the ** is extorting money from people over 60 years of age. No one can be so incompetent. This has to be fraud or discrimination with the goal to wear down the customer to the point that they pay the fake insurance claims.Review from Michael M

If I had the option to give them a rating lower than one star, I would happily do so. Let me just share the horrible experience. First and foremost, I have purchased two brand-new vehicles and paid them off within three years. I currently have two credit cards with an impeccable payment history and a credit score of over 700.03-06-2024 I requested a credit limit increase, to which I was immediately declined. Although I did not understand why, considering my history, I accepted it. 03-08-2024 I received a call/voice message from the bank (******) apologizing, as they could not understand why the application was rejected. This is per her voice message. She indicated that my application was reconsidered and the underwriter had approved my credit limit increase. At this time, I logged into my application to submit my last two paystubs and employer's number for employment verification. I noticed my application status went from DECLINED to APPROVED.03-09-2024 I have not heard back, as I was expecting documents to be sent to me for my signature. Since I did not hear from anyone the entire day, I thought I would log back into my application to send a follow-up message. And to my surprise, the application status went from APPROVED to DECLINED. No call, no message, no nothing. I simply went from "sorry, we could not approve you" to a second decline, to ensure I felt the rejection. Absolutely the worst business practice and the most terrible customer service experience ever! I strongly recommend you do not join this institution. It's like a slap in the face isn't enough, they want to add insult to injury!Review from Douglas R.

Bad business with my business account!! RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK!!! Opened this business account ONLY because I wanted a to have a local brick and Mortar Credit union local to me. My business account has been with Found ********************** for the past few years, still use them, won't leave them and never had 1 issue.Had Space coast for @ 3 weeks, made a couple small cash transfers while waiting for me debit card. Once I received my debit card, I deposited a couple small checks. As a ******************************** broker in 20 plus states with access to every Insurance carrier I have multiple streams on income. I Deposited 2 or 3 check with space coast that came from Market Place enrolment issued by Bill.com and United Healthcare. On monday 04/11/2024 after I made a transfer of 800$ from my Found account to ********************************************* I lost access to my Online access to my account. I was told to contact an 800# after multiple attempts of logging into my account......I call and im told my ACCOUNT IS LOCKED and UNDER REVIEW!! NO Explanation no help, I Drove to a branch in **********, ** figgued a branch could help....NOPE < NADDA < Zero help told the same thing. No reason no help. As a business owner I find this highly Unprofessional, I cant even close my account and get my money out. Ive called 4 times in the last 7 days and I get the same nonsense response...cant give me any info, can't close my account and could tale 120 DAYS TO UNLOCK MY ACCOUNT and maybe they give me access or close my account and send a check to my house. Again business owners beware go anywhere else, thank god my payroll doesnt come out of space coast or HOW would my employees be paid...so happy they robbed me at the start of the terrible relationship and not when I was vested!!!!Review from mark s

tried to do a transfer into sccu 10k limit is 5k or 7.5k in 30 days did 5k then deposited a GOOD mm check from another credit union. all on Friday the 23rd. Same Friday at 7:14 pm I get an email that my profile had changed and SCCU would no longer process external account transfers. Called customer service no help and it gets better; the watchdog locked me out of my account login so Friday they got 10k of my money and their advice was to send them a fax to verify the funds where mine! RUN from these incompetent people fast!Review from James D

My ex opened an account using my information and they did nothing to prevent this and now I am stuck having to get a police report. Have paperwork notarized and having to do this within a 2 days or they will penalize us. We have never heard of this bank but apparently you can open an account with someone else's information because they don't have security measures in place to ensure your protection. This is wrong and they should be held accountable because they are putting us through the roof. Don't do business with this bank because they will not protect you and will charge YOU for their lack of oversight or vetting.Review from Grace M

This is the worst credit union I have ever dealt with. I was forced to use them thru my dealership for my car loan.They automatically open a savings account for you with $5. After a few months, I decided to put money into my savings and asked for a debit card. Don't ask what I went thru to finally get one. I tried using it and it was not valid. Don't try calling them - it will take-up moat of your day. Finally get thru to a live person and they tell me I can't use it like a traditional debit card! Excuse me? In order to access my money in my savings account, I have to go into one of their branches (closest one to me is 20 minutes by car) OR, I can open a checking account and then I can use my debit card wherever I want. There aren't enough characters left in my review. I could go on!! Find a different place than SCCU!Review from Phil V

12/26/2023 11:00AM EST I bought a money order (marked moneygram) at my local Space Coast Credit Union branch in Orange City FL about 6 years ago and was told at that time the money orders do not expire. I had forgotten about it until last week and went into the same branch to cash it, which they did. 3 days later I received a letter from Space Coast stating the money order bounced and they debited my savings account and overdrew it although my checking had more than enough to cover it. The letter receive has a substitute check on it and the letter states it can be used like a regular check. I went into my local branch in Orange City Fl (the stand alone location) and was unable to cash the check. The person at the counter was not helpful to say the least and became disrespectful AND would not cash the check. I have been the phone for over 2 hours looking for a resolve. I have been a customer for over 21 years but apparently in this day and age that means very little.Space Coast Credit Union Response

SCCU is the worst financial institution i have EVER dealt with in my life! AVOID THIS SCAM CREDIT UNION!!! ALL OF THESE ONE STAR REVIEWS ARE 100% ACCURATE! I joined SCCU hoping for more personalized attention. My husband and I applied for a tiny loan for a used RV, $25k to be exact. We have deposits near twice that amount They denied us stating we "were planning to live in the RV". This was incorrect and was info from my adult son who applied months before. Spent an hour on the phone Saturday explaining to a CSR. They stated they added that info to the application. Got another denied email. Called back..disconnected 2x finally reached a human who said the SAME EXACT THING! When we AGAIN said NO and told her our conversation on Saturday she said yes that info added yet the INCORRECT INFO was STILL THE ONLY REASON FOR DENIAL. Went and closed my account. Settling on a property we sold with 6 figures in equity which we were going to deposit. They can't tell my account from my adult son I'm not trusting them with ANY OF MY MONEY.Space Coast Credit Union Response

Completed an application twice for a credit card with the credit union, after being a member for over 10 years.. I was turned down for too many debts. Excuse me didn't know car and house payments and 1 credit card are too many debts, and by the way are good debts. I recently purchased a home at a credit score well over 700. You must have zero debts with 800+score to get anything with this cu.. very disappointed would like to do business where I bank. I just applied elsewhere and got a 15k!!! Your lending guidelines don't meet the needs of the pple, as you just lost a good member! Will never recommend or bank here again!Space Coast Credit Union Response
