Dear ****,
I am writing to respond to your communication regarding the shipment made over a year ago by ***************************. In this case, it concerns a bicycle that arrived at our facilities with the *** tracking number: 1Z37X1314226045300. The mentioned customer authorized the shipment and declared a value of $198 for the merchandise, destined for ******** (I am attaching the WhatsApp conversation from his phone number in the destination country).
Indeed, we created the shipment with the tracking number PND270422104800 for ******** (attached). As is the case with all packages sent internationally, it went through the customs of the destination country, who made the decision to confiscate the merchandise due to considering the declared value by the customer as false. We subsequently attempted to find a solution, but customs authorities have autonomy in their decisions to enforce the customs code, as the customer infringed by providing a false value declaration.
We tried to resolve the matter with the customer regarding the value he confirmed and assured us, but *************************** disagreed. From our perspective, we do not believe that we should pay more than what he declared, especially considering that this situation would not have occurred if he had not provided a false value from the beginning.
