I used Car Shipping Hawaii to arrange the shipping of my vehicle from ******** to *************. I paid their 550$ deposit and the agreed upon amount to an ocean shipping company. My remaining balance was 900$ for the ground transport from **********, ** to **********, **. I called them on 22 July 2024 when my car arrived in port and I was notified by the ocean shipping company to make sure that my vehicle's ground transportation was still good to go, to which they confirmed and told me I would receive notification within 48 hours. On 25 July I was called and told that there was an issue with my cars ground transportation in **********, but they had found a new ground transport company but the cost would be 1315$, 415$ more than the quoted price. I asked them to explain why this was my expense, and they just stated that it's not their cost to absorb. They told me that I had to accept this option or they would find a new shipper for the agreed upon price of 900$ but they had no timeline and said storage costs at the port would be my responsibility. The contract I sign did not stipulate that any additional cost would be my responsibility outside of things that were in my control. I reluctantly accepted the new price because there was no estimated date for the agreed upon shipping costs and I would be responsible for the storage costs. This became a no win situation for me, and I was bait and switched into paying more than agreed upon for my vehicle.Initial Complaint

Company subcontracted delivery of my car to uninsured carrier who damaged my car. They said they insured my car up to ***** but said since they did not personally ship car they are not liable yet they subcontracted to u insured carrier.Business response

We have thoroughly reviewed this complaint, however, we do not have any record of providing service under the name ***************** / ******************* / **************. Additionally, the complaint lacks any reference to a contract, booking number, or specific service rendered by our company.
As a broker company that subcontracts shipping and carrier services for ocean and land transportation, any damages or losses incurred during transportation are to be addressed directly with the responsible parties involved in the service. We do not have direct contact with or handle customers' vehicles during the transportation process. Furthermore, it is imperative to note that this policy is outlined within the contracts provided to our customers for their review and signature before they take any service from us.

I sent CarShippingHawaii.com a $700 deposit to ship my car from ******** to Maui. After I sent them the deposit via electronic check, they did not answer multiple phone calls and emails for more than a week. I had not signed any contract or other paperwork and requested that they refund my money. I did not trust them to fulfill their side of the contract after ghosting me (twice for over a week). I have shipped my car with another company and want a refund.
