I would not recommend this facility to anyone but especially military families who have Tricare Insurance because they don't know how to bill correctly and no one will help figure out the problem. I went to the ER in March 2023 while on vacation with my family. The ER doctor was cold and short and interacted with me for a grand total of 5 mins before writing me a prescription and walking out. I get a bill in the mail weeks later for the full amount of the visit as if I didn't have insurance. I noticed they billed the wrong insurance so decided to call the phone number on the statement to which there was no answer- it rang for 45 mins and nothing. I decide to find a number on their website pertaining to billing in hopes to get an answer. A woman did answer and said she could not help me because Santa Rosa ER Departments use a 3rd party billing company so I would just need to keep calling the number on the paper and hope someone eventually answers. After months of waiting and leaving a bad review on Google, I get an email from the Patient Access Director stating the correct insurance had been billed now and I had a patient responsibility of $150.11- once I received the bill via mail I immediately paid it. Five months later I get a call from a debt collector stating I still owe the full amount when I have email and receipt proof of what I paid. The debt collector told me to send her all the proof and she would try to sort the problem. A month later I get a ANOTHER bill saying I now owe $24.58 so I pay it. It has now been a month and I have received ANOTHER statement for$24.68. Santa Rosa Medical Center has caused me nothing but problems and stress since my initial visit in March 2023. No employee I speak to is willing to help me yet the facility is real quick to ask me for money and send me to debt collectors when I question why. They are not military friendly and it would be in any military members interest to take themselves or a loved one to a different facility.
