BB Locksmith Inc. Response
06/07/2024
I do remember her being here yesterday. We had special ordered a key fob for her car and she came in to cancel it.
The local dealer is all over the board with the way they handle clients. Go in and ask for a key in the middle of January (high season) and their price is going to be at least 3x what they charged her.
Now that's it's off season, every penny counts for them. They sold her the fob, programmed, for less than my cost. (Because they're the dealer! I have to purchase OEM fobs and buy specialty locksmith equipment, software, and memberships in order to be able to offer this service).
She came in with her receipt from the dealer, looking for a refund.
We have a "no refunds, store credit only" policy. It clearly states it on the receipt and the customers are advised of that whenever we special order products.
As a gesture of good will I told Kevin to go ahead and refund her money (less the restock fee for the special order key, it had shipped already). There was no argument from my end, I just wanted to make her happy.
Rather than being appreciative and understanding her parting shot as she headed out the door with her money in hand was "I'm going to report you to the BBB for taking advantage of seniors". (She was dealing with one of my employees, Kevin, at that time or I'd have addressed it right away).
Our company is owned by a senior and I make it a point to go out of my way to take care of our seniors and make sure no one takes advantage of them. I'm probably the only locksmith in town that tracks down property managers and family members when called out to the home of what's clearly a senior suffering from alzheimers or dementia. I take that crack as a personal affront.
I don't even have to see the review, the one star tells me all I need to know. It should be removed. It's unfair and unjust.
Thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
Jeanne T******, VP
