We have received your message through the BBB.  We have not received any letter from you in reference to your desire to cancel this addition.  We have no issues returning your deposit money back to you minus the cost of the permit and engineering.  As you already are aware of,  the material shortages everyone has been having have taken it's toll epically on aluminum.  We have only waited for your materials to come in for months, and then we received a color change on your material just last month (January 24th).  However, if you are no longer happy with the process we will be more than willing to send you the refund.  Please send a letter into the office with your signature informing us of your desire to cancel and then we will send the refund out within 10 days

      Thank you

I have contacted the company numerous amounts of times to fix my ceiling and insulation from a leak that was created when they replaced my roof. It has been months since I first contacted them and it has not been replaced. I have called and texted for almost a year. I have not been able to get any updated inspections for insurance which means my insurance payment is going up over 2k and I am unable to switch because I can’t get a new inspection. The ceiling is only getting worse as the time goes on.

Mrs. ****** was advised to have the interior fixed from a local dry wall company and we would pay the invoice. She then called the office on Feb 1st 2023 stating this has not been done and concerned with mold issue. She was then emailed on Feb. 1st 2023 at 4:53 Pm and notified again to reach out to a local company so we could take care of the invoice.

I am rejecting this response because: companies do not want to work for free until you get around to pay them for their services. I was advised months ago that the would come down to complete this since this was a result of their mess up.

      Sincerely,

I had a $500 off Valpak coupon for "any new roof" from Sun Coast that I wanted to apply to my new roof. When Ray K*** wrote up the estimate he said all discounts already included without knowing I had a coupon. I said I had a valid coupon and he said it doesn't apply to this quote as it was taken into consideration. I said this doesn't sound right, essentially there is no coupon then if they write quotes and everyone gets a "discount ". This roof replacement was following hurricanes Ian and Nicole so I didn't push harder on honoring the coupon since I needed the work done. I did mention it to the office twice when they called to push back the installation dates but again, not much I could do as I needed the roof done. I paid the invoice (over $17,000) in full within 24 hours of receiving it. I would like the coupon honored and $500 credited back to my ***** I would also like Sun Coast to cease advertising in any media discounts they don't honor.

Please mail in the VALPAK Coupon along with a copy of your contract and we will refund the $500.00 back to your credit card.

If you look at the coupon, it states that the coupon MUST be present at the time of the sale.  We do this so we avoid any confusion afterwards

So, if you could just send that in to the office and we will take care of it.

Also, if you could have called, we could of taken care of this through the office

      Thanks

Sun Coast roofing will not honor warranty for a roof they installed 5 years ago and want us to pay $500 for repair of damage done during last storm. The estimator gave us a reason that it was " Act of God" and therefore we have to pay. However, we disagree because we blame the roofing company for faulty roof installation, we sent a letter and pictures to prove it, also showed it to the estimator. This is the second time we had roof damage after the storm. I would like to add that during the initial installation, the workers caused multiple leaks and were totally unprofessional. We sent the letter addressed to the office manager and the supervisor, we never received any response from Sun Coast roofing even though I followed up with multiple phone calls. The warranty is good for 10 years and we believe that they should repair the roof free of charge, because of improper installation.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/28) */ The roof warranty does not cover named storms, This was not the cause of workmanship and due to damage from storm. This roof was put on 5 years ago and would need a billable estimate for repairs.

01/26/22 -01/29/22 Replaced roof. Paid $17600 on 01/31/22. Damaged gutter guardsSupervisor came to house & said they would try to straighten them out & if I didn't like how it looked would replace with free guards but not the "Helmet". I called office & stated the guards were too damaged & wanted the new guards that were offered & to remove the damaged ones that were lying along the outside of the house. Tried over 2 months to get the supervisor. Tried to talk to office manager who was never available. Ended up buying guards from Leaf Filter on 04/06/22 for $9600 & they cleaned up the damaged guards. Told Sun Coast I was not paying for the tarp(which they never sent me a bill on). On 08/22/22 got call from Sun Coast that I have not paid final $1000 on the roof & will not send warranty for roof. Note they have not contacted me for5 months.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/09/21) */ Mrs *********** contacted the office 2x's as far as our records with recorded calls shows. Dec. 21st 2021 at 1:08 pm before her roof started and March 21st at 10:02am wanting to know when her drywall contract would start. The gutters were a punch list to put back up and the superindent offered new gutter gaurds and she declined. When the drywall contract started she then stated to our contsruction supervisor she wanted new helmets and and then blamed his crew for a ladder falling in her garage and that was her ladder that fell not anything to do with Sun Coast. The supervisor tried to even resolve by offering to take money off and even painting her garage for something just to keep her happy and she stated in an email she does not want anything from Sun Coast. We cannot turn in a warranty until the final bill is paid and that includes the tarp she says she never got billed for. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/09/23) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) have paid them $17,600 for the roof which was finished 01/29/2022 & have yet received an itemize statement of services rendered & services paid or a bill for what the $1000n is for. The supposed "offer" was made in middle of March when I complained to Gil that noone was responding to me & I finally made contract with Leaf filter. thats when he said he could have gotten Leaf filter. I told I was not offered that & I now had contract with Leaf filter. The damaged material which laid outside my hose was cleaned up by Leaf filter in April. I have yet to receive a bill. My contract was for $17,000. I paid $1000 down. the final Bill was $17,600 because they had to replace 6 sheets of plywood. I gave them a check of $16,500 on 01/31/2022. My contract states 16,000 remaining that does not include plywood but I paid for the 6 sheets!

Suncoast installed a new roof on my home. I now have damaged shingles, water collecting under my shingles and water damage in my attic. The process of filing a claim for damage has been a nightmare for several reasons. First, Suncoast does not return my calls. I have to call and basically harass them with threats of a lawsuit to get their attention. Second, three separate members of their company looked at my roof, two said it was damaged yet their head of production said it was fine. Finally, a representative came out and assisted in the claim process which can take up to 3 months. In the meantime, I now have visible water damage in my attic that they have ignored for the last week by again not returning a phone call. The customer service experience is horrible. I would NEVER recommend them to even my worst enemy.

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2022/09/12) */ I spoke with********** and she stated it was sent to GAF for a claim because we have sent multiple people and the result is due to the manufacturing of the shingles. I asked her to send that to me to get a head start on removing shingles and sending to GAF claim department. This takes time for this process. About 2 weeks ago Mary called and stated she had called with a leak. sent a supervisor over and this is resulting from the shingles. Mrs *********** will here from GAF first and then send us a letter when her claim is approved. This has been explained.

On 4/11/2022 a Salesman Kevin P****** came to my house to give me an estimate on replacing my entire roof. I told him I was in a rush because my insurance was dropping me, and i was going to put it up for sale once done. It's spanish tile, Has to be just like my neighbors rood that is attached to me, they gave him a sample, he said since he had that, it helped to make the order of the tiles go faster, it would take 3-4 weeks, they'd deliver the tile, and within 2 days replace the roof. I signed the contract and gave him a 900.00 check my friend gave me for a deposit. I saw he deposited the check and on 4/18/2022 filed a notice of commencement, I also saw it was notarized, i'm not sure how he got it notarized because no one was at my house to watch me sign. After a month of no contact, I called the company, they kept saying Mr. P****** was on the road and i'd have to talk to Tammy in the New smyrna office, I left serveral messages for her, was even told she has 24 hours to call back, i explained to the girl on the phone what was happening, no one will call me back. I had a sales man call after my HOA called to complain, his name is Will, he said he'd stay on top of it, but does not call me back. I either was my roof done right now, or get my $900.00 back. After all this, they told the HOA Mr. P****** left the company, so every time I called, they lied to me that he was on the road. Now I have no Home owners insurance, they are going to force place it to make a higher payment, I could have sold my home earlier if they did it in 3-4 weeks as promised. Now rates have gone up, and i'll probably lose money. I need the roof done, or my money back. Thankyou.

On or about 5/5/2022 SunCoast Roofing did a complete re-roofing of our home that included a small section of flat roof. There was nothing wrong with any part of the roof. It was required for insurance reasons--a problem impacting Florida homeowners. They were paid in full but a few days later we began noticing extremely substandard workmanship on the flat roof section. I took many photos, called SunCoast, sent the photos to Jeff F****** who forwarded them to higher ups including their field foreman, Kevin S*** who come out to inspect. He fully agreed on the problems and acknowledged they would be corrected at no costs. I have more than ample evidence of phone texts, voice mails, photos, documentation of personal visits to their offices and the names of personnel who took my complaints. Despite this, Kevin S*** and the entire outfit have repeatedly dodged my requests, made VERY FEW responses to my texts and calls, made promises that have not been fulfilled, and totally blown us off. Now, I wish I'd made a video of Sims' promises but my other documentation is more than adequate. I have all receipts, paperwork, warranties, etc. I'm hoping that BBB can intervene and get SunCoast to keep their promises and finish their work.

Mr. ***** then stated he was going thru some issues with family and would get back to me. The current roof does not leak and is more of an aesthetic issue and that we would be glad to take care of. At this point we were waiting for a response on which way he would like to go forward.

hired them in feb of this year and they took over 6 weeks to get started. our contract was negotiated to include all work plus a "free" wind mitigation report and gutters which never happened. they were paid contracted amount and then and still are trying to get another almost $2k for wood replacement that was pre negotiated. also they are refusing to honor their warranty till this is paid. they were hired in good faith to COMPLETE a job which includes everything stated in contract as attached.

      Business Response

      Date: 10/11/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/17) */ Ms. ******, We started your roof install the standard 5 weeks after you signed your contract with us. At the time of signing your contract you were made aware that once your job is paid in full that your wind mitigation and your roof warranty will be sent to you. What you are referring to as "pre-negotiated" is the $120 wood credit. Which means $120 will be taken off of the additional dimensional wood that we charge for installing on your roof. Also, please keep in mind that after installing your dimensional wood on 3/17/22, you informed Chris on 3/23/22 while we were installing your shingles that you noticed bits of chewed wood on the ground from an animal chewing up your newly installed dimensional wood (we have date and time stamped pictures and texts if needed). Chris then went ahead and replaced the wood at no additional charge. Also, our gutter installer arrived at your home to measure the gutters that were to be installed on your house but you informed our installer that you did not have the money to pay us the remaining amount. This is why Chris texted you on 4/7/22 to inform you that we can take $500 off your remaining wood work bill instead of installing the gutters, which you did not respond to him. All in all, you were aware from the beginning that the wind mitigation and the warranty will not be provided until you are paid in full as well as there will be an charge for wood work installed on your roof and that $120 will be taken off that woodwork. Your contract price was $10,650.00 + $1,435.00 for wood work. You paid a total of $10,150 and we took off $120 off your wood work, leaving the total balance at $1,815. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Initial price was all inclusive and it is written in the contract that rotted wood would be repaired and or replaced. This was also verbally confirmed from chris upon signing. Your gutter person never came to my house nor was my ability to pay discussed with ANYONE. You are a liar and I would not consider the amount of money I paid you a lack of ability to pay. I still have no gutters or wind mitigation report. Also your workers scratched up my driveway and left garbage in my backyard as well as numerous rusted nails and other debris. Your work is sloppy and you are a deceptive company. You were fully paid the negotiated amount at time of signing inlusive of woodwork. Read the contract! Chris specifically wrote it in because we discussed it. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/07/22) */ Ms. ******, It was explained to you before you signed the contract that the wood work is an additional cost, just as it says on the contract. There is no point making a note on the contract to give you a $150 wood credit & a text informing you we can deduct $500 wood credit if there was an agreement that you would not pay for wood. You were also informed at signing that Wind Mitigations will be done once we are paid in full. As far as the gutters, your salesman texted you on 4/7/22 @ 11:39am informing you that instead of installing the gutters, we can take $500 off your wood bill instead. If you choose you to stay with the gutter install then your sales person will go ahead and arrange for our gutters installer to come back out and remeasure to get the gutters installed, which means your balance will remain at $1,815.00. If you choose to not have the gutters installed, (just as your salesman texted to you) we can take $500 off your wood bill which will leave the invoice balance at $1,315.00. Please let us know how you would like to proceed. Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2022/07/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) you gave me the wood credit to make the deal and you wrote in the contract repair and replace wood for the contracted amount. Obviously what you did not anticipate was the amount of wood that you are claiming needed (80') to be replaced and I had to get on the roof myself to tell your workers to replace wood that you had no intention to replace. You are paid in full and I am done here.
