We started the process In the purchasing one of the cars, I finished an application they run credit, took all private information including ss# ( hard inquiry that lowered my credit score) We are also offered money as a security deposit to make sure the car is not gonna be advertised anymore, but the salesperson said as long as we submitted paperwork it's yours. Which we did! On the way to get the car it's (about 3 hours away) and sign the final paperwork. They knew we are on the way to finalizing everything. Received a phone call where they said the car was just sold. I tried to call back to speak to the manager but every time he was busy it was impossible to get Well, we started the process on one of the cars, I finished an application they run credit ( hard inquiry) on the way to get and sign the final paperwork. Very unprofessional, very rude, the worst exercise I ever had.Jaguar Land Rover Ocala Response

We are disappointed we were not able to sell you a vehicle. We had several active clients considering the same vehicle simultaneously with most of them just as far along in buying/decision making process. We in fact told you there were several people considering the vehicle at the same time and could sell at any moment. We agree that you did submit your credit information through our website for pre-approval. Once you submitted that request, we did just that. We had not collected a deposit from you or signed a buyers order with you. Processing the request for pre-approval is not a commitment for us to hold the vehicle for you. We receive hundreds of online pre-approval requests that do not result in a sale regardless of credit circumstances.
We have also spoken to you and your husband on several occasions so we are confused about not being able to reach a manager. We understand you were disappointed about not being able to finalize the purchase with us and do not take personally the threat to attack us on social media through your connections at Google (on our recorded line). We know it was just your heat of the moment frustration at the situation.
Because of our pricing policies, every client considering the vehicle had the exact same price offering so there is no advantage for us to sell to one person over another.
Over the last several months there have been more customers than available inventory. We will reach out to you if we take in a similar vehicle.Customer Response

I'm very disappointed with the way you run your business!
Nobody mentioned or notified us that the vehicle had several interested clients. We mentioned a deposit but we are been told that I don't need to give a deposit once I finish the application, after that, we text you a salesperson that we are on our way. Smart from your site not to collect a deposit ( even though we offered) making you not liable for hard inquiries that now will take me 2month minimum to resolve this. So you make hard inquiries on the credit histories of all your potential buyers( great!!!) you need to put it in writing before customers apply, I doubt people will do it. I never threatened anyone, I mentioned I will leave a review, so people know how you run your business! So about your advantage of selling the car faster because you need to move the car quicker to have credit to buy a new once to have a larger Cap. You lose time if a person needs a day to come down to your location. I have found 4 people who you did the same thing. The way you run your business under a big name it's a shame. I will never buy a car from your dealership and I will make sure people know what they facing by even contacting you!Review from Eric W

**Overall bad experience** Took delivery of a new 2021 Discovery Sport on 3/21, from Land Rover of Ocala. I live 2 hours away in Orlando. Was offered to lease/or financing through Land Rover. Chose to lease as this was best option for me. During the signing process, I was asked to initial and sign a pre-delivery form stating that they had gone over all of the cars features, and safety components with the promise they would at a later date due to the dealership closing soon. They never did. At just 2 weeks in, on 4/2, with barely 300 miles on the SUV, I had a major mechanical/electrical problem. I was driving in heavy traffic and suddenly several warning lights came on including: Lane Keep Assist Failure Emergency Braking Failure Power Steering Failure At that point the vehicle's brakes went soft and the steering wheel locked up. I could not control the car. This terrified me. Was able to manage to get the car to the side of the road and parked. Got out and inspected the underside. Nothing. Started the car after about 5 mins. And everything reset. This experience not only scared me but caused me to loose confidence in the car. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE. Attempted to get it into my local dealership in Orlando, and also LR of Ocala. None could get me in for weeks. I ended up taking it the next morning to LR of Orlando and waited all day for them to work me in. Indeed they could tell there were some electrical issues and registered faults. I made an appointment for 3 weeks later. Meanwhile I contacted my sales rep at LR of Ocala, explained what had happened. She told me to bring the car or have it towed back and they would "swap it out" for another one. Great! That is what I wanted to do. Also that they had just done this with a customer weeks before. She needed to verify the details with the sales manager. This process took 2 weeks. She wouldn't get back to me. Meanwhile I was not driving the vehicle as I didn't want to put more miles on the vehicle and I didn't feel safe. After several attempts to get a answer, she finally told me it wouldn't be a true swap out. First of all they don't have the inventory, and I was told I would be trading in a "used vehicle" now. It would cost me approx $10,000 and that my payment would go up to roughly $960/mo. I could not do that. Got the car in weeks later for repairs in Orlando. They needed to order parts from the UK, causing delays in repairs. $2,600 in repairs for the first set of repairs. When I got the car back I drove it back to LR of Ocala to beg them to take this car back and let's work this out. Again only offered the trade out, under those same terms. I had traded in a 2018 Range Rover Evoque during the initial deal. With what they offered me for the trade and my down payment, approx $7,000. I was offered none of that as a credit. I asked how a previous customer was able to just swap out her car simply because she didn't like it. I was told it's because she financed vs leasing. I didn't realize I would penalized for leasing. I asked if they could just make this right and take the car back and let's start over. I want to be a repeat customer. I wanted to regain confidence in the Land Rover product. They refused. Told me their hands were tied. They are a franchise dealership and not corporate owned. It says Land Rover on the outside of their building. Referred me to Jaguar/Land Rover USA. Asked for the phone or contact. They wouldn't give me the info. They said just look it up. I asked for a survey about my experience. They made the excuse that because of Covid, I would not be getting any surveys. Horrible experiences. During all of this, attempted to call the finance manager, he wouldn't return my call. Tried to call the general manager, wouldn't return my call. After months of dealing with Jaguar/LR USA, opening a case for them to buy back the vehicle, sending in all the information they requested. They just informed me that they will NOT being doing anything for me. This car I feel is a Lemon. It's got many electrical issues. Faults coming up often. It is currently again in for the 4th time for repairs in just 4 months. All for the same issues. I don't understand what else would qualify for them to take this car back. Not feeling safe driving a car that they sold, I would think?
