      My car was being towed last night. My son called to tell me and I was on my way home less than 5 minutes away. The tow truck driver (who never gave his name) told my son that we could pay a 75 dollar drop fee to which my son said that he could pay and asked if he would take a debit card. The driver told him no, then my son told him that his parents would be home in less than 5 minutes and the driver said once I get the car hooked up Im driving away. All of the information that I have done states that they are supposed to give a 15 minute ***** period for us to be able to get him the money. He wouldnt wait at all. I called the answering service to have the driver call me. He called and I tried to ask him to bring it back as he had just left. He cut me off when trying to talk to him yelling stop, stop,stop,stop. I asked him to stop yelling at me, to which he proceeded to scream at me that I can pick it up from the impound lot and pay 270 dollars to get it back and he hung up on me. I called him back and he answered saying oh, are you ready to listen to me now? In such a rude tone. I was just trying to explain to him that the car runs but that it needs work and that it isnt safe to drive on the highway, thats why I wanted to pay the drop fee. My voice was calm. He proceeded to SCREAM at me saying that I was a liar because I originally told him that the car didnt run. I said that I told him that it didnt run well. He said that I was rude so now it is his turn to be rude and he continued to scream and me and tell me that we can get it from the impound lot. His tone was so unnecessary and left me feeling so upset that I was being spoken to that way. We drove to the lot and I had to pay 270 dollars and follow my husband home to drive this car on the highway doing barely 40mph because it needs work. Which is what I was trying to explain to him but he wouldnt listen.

      To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to formally file a complaint against A-1 Recovery Inc. for non-compliance with Floridas towing and recovery regulations, as mandated under state law effective July 1, 2024.Florida law requires towing companies to post their maximum towing and storage rates on their websites to ensure transparency and protect consumers from predatory practices. Upon reviewing A-1 Recovery Inc.s website (****************************************), I found no information regarding their pricing or maximum rates for towing and storage services. This omission directly violates the requirements outlined in Florida statutes aimed at promoting consumer rights and fair business practices.The lack of transparency creates an undue burden on consumers, who cannot access necessary information to make informed decisions or verify compliance with county-specific rate caps. Given the importance of these regulations in curbing predatory towing practices, it is critical that companies like A-1 Recovery Inc. be held accountable for adhering to the law.I respectfully request that this matter be investigated promptly and that A-1 Recovery Inc. be required to update their website with the legally required pricing information. Furthermore, I encourage the appropriate oversight body to enforce penalties for this non-compliance to ensure similar violations are deterred in the future.Thank you for your attention to this matter.       On June 12 at 1 am a tow truck driver was voilently beating on my vehicle. I was inside the vehicle. After I exited the vehicle the driver left and did not tow me. Now my window leaks where he was beating on it. I have called trying to get the insurance info to file a claim for the damages on my vehicle and the employees hang up on me and say the most unprofessional and disrespectful things. They should definitly not be in business

      This company illegally tried to tow my semi truck while I was shopping in the store. I went in to get some groceries,came out and they were hooked to my truck. I had not violated any parking rules. I was told the property manager had called to have me towed, however I spoke with the store manager and the property manager and neither of which contacted anyone or even knew anything about this. I was there at 345 in the afternoon. This is absolutely abdrud that they can get away with this scam that they are pulling. They are preying on people and then collecting money from them. When I came out and realized they were hooked to my truck, they told me it was 440 just to drop the truck. They hadn't even towed it. This company is doing illegal practices and literally needs to be held accountable.

      I can tell you first hand we are not preying on anyone.  We are contracted to look out for things like this.  By law what was offered to you was a drop fee to drop the vehicle on site and not tow it back to the location.

      Look out for things like a paying customer shopping in a plaza? No. Absolutely not. A customer being parked for less than an hour at a shopping center? Publix confirming they don't contract you to "patrol" their plaza? No. You don't just tow people's vehicles while they're shopping. It doesn't work like that.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      Sir, with all due respect, im not sure how else to get you to undertand that we were shopping and using the facilities in this plaza. Also, publix nor planet fitness would have any idea who you were even talking about if you truly did reach out to them. How would they know who I was or what vehicle I got out of compared to the other hundreds of people that come through there especially considering I was not parked out front in the way of traffic. I've attached my check In report for planet fitness, which I pay for, and my receipt from when I was SHOPPING in publix. I have also spoke with management at publix and the plaza who confirmed neither of which asked you to tow my vehicle nor are you contracted with them to tow at that plaza. I was under a load, I had a time frame to be back at my location that I was headed to after I left from shopping.

      My family paid $30 for parking on 4/13/24. When we were done with the beach we went back to the car to drop off the beach stuff around 4pm as we wanted to get something to eat and go on a night cruise. The receipt at this point was still on the dash. After the cruise we went back to the car to find out it was gone. A-1 Recovery informed us that it was towed due to the receipt wasn't on the dash. When the receipt was found it was in the cup holder directly underneath where it was on the dash. That tells me it slid down as it was being lifted to be towed!!! This is illegal!!! They made us pay ****** to get the car back!! They know it was a rental and we were on vacation so we would pay for it!!! I want all my money back and this company closed!!! I have all my receipts and proof of payment!!! Including the receipt that was on the dash!!

Furthermore I have shown ample proof that payment was made to park in that lot and should have never been towed!! I want a full refund.

      Last night at 1055 pm my car got towed from my apartment complex. I had to quickly run upstairs so I made sure I wasnt blatantly in front of the no parking signs, any garages, or blocking any possible car that needed to get by. I got out of my car at 1047. I got back and noticed my car was gone after less than 10 mins. He told me he gave me 5 minutes and he left. I showed him the time stamps of when I initially called and if that is the case he wouldnt have even been out of my lot when I had gotten back down to my car. The employee (**** who I didnt get his name until I had to contact the police because he was giving me a fake name) was verbally harassing me and swearing at me whenever I was trying to get extra information on him/the company as I was not wanting to leave without anything due to the way he was treating me. Once I paid I received a receipt that was half inked and you couldnt see any of the information on it other than the amount owed. No date, no time, no company name, nothing. I asked him for another and he said youre not going to get another receipt thats how it comes. This company is known for illegally towing vehicles and now that they have a picture of my car/license plate I am incredibly scared for when theyre patrolling the area again. The way that situation was handled was very very unprofessional. It is very unfortunate that these are civil issues and authorities hands are tied because this company is insanely crooked and will tell you to your face i dont give a f*** about you.

      It is not just the receipt that is the issue, its the fact that the whole timing one of your workers is claiming he went by is completely incorrect and my car was illegally towed due to it. I have a full time job working 50 hours a week on top of going to nursing school and $280 for something that should NOT have happened is not okay. When he is saying he took my car away is the exact time I was back down and already calling A-1 because my car was gone less than 5 minutes. The way this all went down is not okay and like I said, done illegally. I was not parked anywhere it said no parking or in any fire lanes.

      Call number *****. While staying at the motel 6 my Semi was illegally towed from a non marked tow away zone after 3 days and Noone called to have it towed. It was not parked in a patrolled tow away zone and even after photos were sent to provide proof they said they still wouldn't reimburse me for their mistake. It was parked behind winghouse not interrupting business and none of the legally required tow away signs were present. It is again state law 715.07(2)(A) spoke with winghouse and motel 6 management, ***** asked for the truck to be towed. ***** was sent via text to ***** and he agreed it was not in a marked tow away zone but refused to refund the money.

      I was parked at the motel that I was staying at. The property manager of the motel specifically asked me on Saturday night to park my car sideways to block multiple spots for the motel for Sunday morning until I woke up. Every Sunday, a bunch of people go to the beach for a drum *********** session. These people will regularly use the parking lot for the motel to go and park over there.Sunday morning at around 3 AM, my wife and I were walking down the stairs to pack everything into the car to leave. We had a very long drive ahead of us and needed to get everything ready. When we got downstairs, the car was gone. Ended up calling the towing company, and the person who answered the phone was the rudest person in the entire world. Gave me all different kinds of attitude, told me I was a lying sack of s*** when I said I was told the park like that, and called me all kinds of names telling me that I was being a big baby about it and that maybe he should just hang up and let me walk around in the dark for a few hours so I could figure out how to be an adult about it. My wife had to end up talking to him and he eventually told us which address we had to go to to get our vehicle. The dispatcher is an absolute joke who should not be working in any form of customer service. You should never be talking down to somebody and calling them names let alone telling them that they are a lying sack of s*** This business is predatory in every form of the word and should be shut down immediately. There also was no reason for them to even come into the lot and take my car, as the lot that I was parked in was a private parking lot for motel use only. It was private property that they drove onto so they could take my car. The only way they couldve done that legally is if they were called to do so, which I know they werent. The motel ended up having to reimburse me my money as the towing company refused to when they found out I was allowed to park that way.

      Was wrongfully towed out of my reserved spot I pay for I have proof of my parking pass and paying it every single month ******************************************************************************************************* a refund because it wasnt visible. but my neighbor who also pays for her spots does not have her parking pass in the window but was never towed I was obviously targeted. They could have easily asked me for proof of pass or look me up they have a contract with my apartment complex. Not to mention I was wrongly charged a bunch of fees that were inaccurate on my card I woke up to a weird charge guy said it would only be 30 dollars over phone I waited outside in the middle of the night for 3 hours because he said I wouldnt be charged extra if I came before 7 am. This tow company is disgusting read reviews on ****** about these people they break into peoples cars, they damage peoples cars, and most importantly incorrectly tow people money doesnt grow on trees how is this place still in business is beyond me?

      I remember receiving this call from your mother and we will not be refunding you as you and I both know your reserved permit WAS NOT displayed which you also openly admitted to the driver at the time of the release.  We also take pictures prior to towing the vehicle which also clearly shows your permit was not displayed as well.  Once again we will not be refunding anything!  Also not sure what your attached pictures are but they arent of anything regarding this complaint!

      My GMC truck was towed from the *** parking lot located at *******************************************************. I parked my truck in the lot along ********************. and I walked to the vacant lot next to the parking lot to check with a guy I had working there if they wanted anything from the store. My truck was gone within five minutes of me parking. I went back to *** to get the towing company name, I called A-1 recovery in ************ and was informed they had my truck at the ************************, I told the person on the phone my situation and he responded that as soon as I'm done with my transaction I need to immediately leave the parking stall. He told me that the driver went into the store, reviewed the cameras, and had the store manager announce over the intercom to move. That was a total lie, none of that happened. How could the driver do all of that in less than five minutes? I have the receipt from A-1 recovery that shows my truck was requested to be towed at 12:57 PM on 1/10/2004 and it was completed/impounded at 1:09 on 1/10/2024 and I have the receipt from my *** purchase at 12:57 on 1/10/2024. This is a scam they stole my *********** had to pay $187 to get my truck back.

      Unfortunately that CVS parking lot is for customers only.  You openly admitted you parked your truck and walked to the vacant lot next door.  It doesnt matter if its for 5 minutes or 5 hours you are subject to tow.  Our drivers do not know that you are asking the guy next door if he wants something from the store.
