After informing this organization that I will no longer be using the services that it is contracted for I have been told that there is no cancellation policy whatsoever. I was also informed to contact the party whose services I was using and request to have the contract cancelled however said party then informed me that I needed to contact Amerinational Management Services, *** and place the request with them. Not being provided accurate information on who I am to direct my request to has made this process completely unbearable and frustrating. The fact that there is no cancellation policy and automatic renewal is imposed is completely unethical.Business Response

Good Morning, my reason for contacting the BBB is an account was opened with the company Amerinational Management Services Inc without my knowledge or permission. I found out my payments for my son's Karate were being processed by this company, not the dojo directly, when my credit card was updated resulting in the payment not processing. I started getting calls soon after, which I ignored at first believing them to be a scam since I did not owe any money to any company I was aware of. After receiving the letter (attached), I put two and two together. I contacted AMS in an attempt to resolve this. They wanted me to verify personal information. I had no idea who this company was so I refused to provide further information at first, especially financial details they never should have had without my permission. They then said there's nothing we can do unless you plan to pay us, then hung up before I could get a word in. When I call now they continue to answer the phone and hang up and refuse to discuss. They say to either make a payment or do not contact us. I am at a loss now and really need assistance. Please help. At this point I truly need this account closed. They are being super mean and rude to my wife and I and we are lost on where to go for assistance. Their office is in ******* and we are in **** so there is no in person option to visit. I am not an expert on this sort of thing, but I think this entire scenario is potential fraud. I do not feel comfortable after the treatment recieved, giving a new credit card to them if that makes sense. Anyone would feel like that in my position right? They're just being horrible to my wife and I and it is completely uncalled for. We are good people that help others for a living. The account balance says ***** (6 months remaining). I wish for this balance to be cleared and this account to be closed. Any services already recieved have been paid. We are not continuing with this dojo nor program after this experience.Business Response

I have been trying to cancel this account. I am moving back in with my parents and am more than ************************************ the contract that it is a reason. They are refusing to let me cancel it. They said I need a driver's license with the new address and a utility bill. I am a college student with no utility bills it is my parents home. I gave them my credit card statement an car insurance letter with my name on it and my driver's license but they said that all that doesn't let me cancel it. This seems to be a very predatory.Business Response

I signed up my son for month to month classes he did that for over 18 months along with another sibling for 2 years, i told the taekwondo center to cancel week before the monthly bill date as i lost my job and we were travelling international and my son is moving to out of ***************** school hence he wont be able to attend classes anymore, taekwondo center agreed to cancel and promised to inform AMF which they did, i also called AMF 10 days before 10 days before bill date and was told by a lady that they will cancel and stop payment as soon as they receive a call even if its a day before the bill date, i called again on 14th to check status and the guy was very rude and told me i have contract for an year ( i never had contract and was paying month to month taekwondo center had 1 single payment for year contract at discounted price , i did not opt for it but choose monthly ) , he told me that i am lying that they lady told me that she can cancel on initial call, i then called taekwondo center once i was charged and he told that AMF informed him its 30 day cancel period hence they charged , so looks like AMF wants to give a a hard time and want to charge in any case as the reason keep changing , very disappointment in this tough times especially when we are just cancelling a mothly service well before the bill dateBusiness Response

I put my daughter in karate classes after the first month she lost interest and refused to go again. All this happened right before me and my ex husband decided to separate. Im staying in AZ and h*** stay in **. He works full time so my daughter will be attending school in **. I called to cancel the billing service. They want me to provide all this documentation of my name in an address from another state but I dont have any bills there. I stay with my mother. Ive never been a resident of **. Also my contract for the location never made it clear that I was going to be billed by AMS only by them. Also the fact that they told me it was month to month accessibility not an obligation for a whole year. This is ridiculous. I cant even pay any other bills cause they take out everything I use and what I put in savings.Business Response

I signed my daughter up for taekwondo lessons, **** is handled with this company. Our family is struggling financially after my husband was off most of last year for and on the job injury. Called today about canceling, I was told I have no way of canceling, not even for financial hardship. I do not have the money to pay this bill at this point. The lack of compassion or lack of any sort of willingness to find a solution that was demonstrated by the employee I spoke to, is deplorable! I will make sure to tell everyone I know about this awful company, and to also avoid any kind of business with ****************** in ****************** *****.Business Response

Signed up for Taekwondo lessons while I was at college and would inform them when I was going on break to pause my account for that month and to cancel when I was leaving because I had recently graduated. The school would help me with this but the AMS company keeps contacting me about payment when I had told them I was done. They said I signed a 12 month contract with the school when I had only signed up for a month to mount bases (recommended by the school instructor because I was a college student). Now this company keeps calling saying that I am responsible for paying until April when I don't even go to classes nor live in that area of the taekwondo school. Even when I had to take a break and contacted about pausing classes, they would still call about charging. I ended up paying for some months I didn't even go because of my classes at college or when I was injured from a car accident. When I was on the phone with one of the representatives for the company, she just kept saying that I was responsible to pay even though I do not even go to the taekwondo school anymore. I had contacted the taekwondo school about this and they knew I was canceling as well because of me leaving the area. I'm looking for them to stop charging me and to stop calling/harassing me about payment.Business Response

I signed my son up for Karate in June of 2022 hoping that it would help with suspected ADHD. After three months, it was clear that he wasn't benefiting from the program and it was causing undue financial and emotional stress on our family. I called AMS in October 2022 and spoke with ******* and was told that I could not cancel our contract due to financial hardship. This month our son was officially diagnosed with ADHD after struggling emotionally and academically. Between his doctors appointments and his academic needs, we do not have the financial means to pay for a service that we are not receiving. I called AMS again today to plead with them to cancel our contract due to financial and medical concerns. ******* told me once again that I cannot cancel our contract for these reasons and that I should email ************************ to request a medical release form. I emailed this address in October and received no response. I emailed again today but do not expect a response as this company has been unresponsive and unhelpful so far. I don't recommend that anyone with children sign up for karate with this company. On top of the ridiculous contract and termination terms, the classes were overcrowded, overstimulating, and not particularly instructive for a group of children. I would like to be released from the contract so that I can use our financial means to seek therapy and medication for our child instead of paying for a service we don't use.Business Response

If the business sends me the appropriate paperwork to complete to terminate the contract, then I would be happy to comply with this request. As of yet, I have only received one email response which advised me to call the company. When I call, they tell me to email. So, as soon as I receive the required paperwork to complete for disability, I will move forward as requested. If the company refuses to send me that paperwork, then I demand that they release me from the contract.Business Response

In regards to the above account a medical form was mailed out to the customer.Customer Answer

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I received the medical documentation request via mail. The letter was dated 12/8/22. It was post marked 12/13/2022. I received the letter in the mail on 12/16/2022 which was a Friday. The letter itself stated that I must have my son's physician complete the form and return to AMS by 12/18/2022, the following Monday. Doctor's offices have 14 business days to respond for requests for medical documentation. It is a completely unreasonable timeframe to put on the completion of this task and further demonstrates AMS's lack of empathy and reason when working with families of children. I continue to be appalled by the way this company handles customers. I will bring this documentation to my son's doctor on January 6th, as that is the soonest I could schedule. If AMS refuses to work with me then I demand to be released from this contract and released of any financial responsibility.
