I signed my son up for Karate in June of 2022 hoping that it would help with suspected ADHD. After three months, it was clear that he wasn't benefiting from the program and it was causing undue financial and emotional stress on our family. I called AMS in October 2022 and spoke with ******* and was told that I could not cancel our contract due to financial hardship. This month our son was officially diagnosed with ADHD after struggling emotionally and academically. Between his doctors appointments and his academic needs, we do not have the financial means to pay for a service that we are not receiving. I called AMS again today to plead with them to cancel our contract due to financial and medical concerns. ******* told me once again that I cannot cancel our contract for these reasons and that I should email ************************ to request a medical release form. I emailed this address in October and received no response. I emailed again today but do not expect a response as this company has been unresponsive and unhelpful so far. I don't recommend that anyone with children sign up for karate with this company. On top of the ridiculous contract and termination terms, the classes were overcrowded, overstimulating, and not particularly instructive for a group of children. I would like to be released from the contract so that I can use our financial means to seek therapy and medication for our child instead of paying for a service we don't use.Business Response

If the business sends me the appropriate paperwork to complete to terminate the contract, then I would be happy to comply with this request. As of yet, I have only received one email response which advised me to call the company. When I call, they tell me to email. So, as soon as I receive the required paperwork to complete for disability, I will move forward as requested. If the company refuses to send me that paperwork, then I demand that they release me from the contract.Business Response

In regards to the above account a medical form was mailed out to the customer.Customer Answer

I received the medical documentation request via mail. The letter was dated 12/8/22. It was post marked 12/13/2022. I received the letter in the mail on 12/16/2022 which was a Friday. The letter itself stated that I must have my son's physician complete the form and return to AMS by 12/18/2022, the following Monday. Doctor's offices have 14 business days to respond for requests for medical documentation. It is a completely unreasonable timeframe to put on the completion of this task and further demonstrates AMS's lack of empathy and reason when working with families of children. I continue to be appalled by the way this company handles customers. I will bring this documentation to my son's doctor on January 6th, as that is the soonest I could schedule. If AMS refuses to work with me then I demand to be released from this contract and released of any financial responsibility.Initial Complaint

I signed my daughter up for TaeKwonDo classes and was not told that we were locked in to a 24 month contract with the billing company, AMS. I was under the impression that this was a month to month payment and they just handled the billing. I called and was told the only reason for cancelling is medical or moving. We can no longer afford for my child to be in tae kwon do and need to have our account cancelled as she is no longer attending class.Business Response

I signed my child up for tae kwan do classes in Moss Bluff, LA in February 2022. The billing contract is handled by Amerinational Management Services. In March 2022, the Moss Bluff studio closed. The owner of the studio agreed to cancel the contract. Several phone calls with AMS assured me the contract would be canceled, yet they are harassing me with "past-due notices" and threatening my credit. I've had to cancel my credit card and file a complaint with my credit card company since they refused to stop billing me for a service that is impossible to provide AND for a contract that the owner of the studio agreed to cancel. I want confirmation that this contract is void, that they will STOP contacting me, and that my credit is not affected by their unscrupulous business practices.Business Response

Enrolled our daughter in America's best karate and signed an agreement for auto-pay with Amerinational Management services was not aware the "contract" was with AMS and was told it was with America's best karate. Americas best karate also knew my husband was under military orders for only one year and they said it would not be a problem to cancel when my husbands orders were finished we would just have to submit a copy of the orders. I called AMS and repeatedly got hung up on and their representatives were rude and unwilling to help terminate our payments even with multiple different documents I could provide. Including: orders ending in July 2022, termination of lease for June 17th 2022 for address in Texas. I stated multiple times that I cannot provide proof of new residency or new orders until august, but did not want to continue payments because I could provide proof of move without new address for June 2022 and will not be within the state after June 2022. They continued to argue with me that myself and daughter would have to be on the military orders not just my husband which is NOT how military orders work to be able to discontinue payments so they would not accept his end of orders for Texas. I will not continue to make payments for a business that I am no longer living in the same state as and will not continue to have to submit documentation past ending military orders to get this resolved and my account be relived of any obligation of payment and the account be zero and not reported to collections.Business Response
