I signed my daughter up for TaeKwonDo classes and was not told that we were locked in to a 24 month contract with the billing company, AMS. I was under the impression that this was a month to month payment and they just handled the billing. I called and was told the only reason for cancelling is medical or moving. We can no longer afford for my child to be in tae kwon do and need to have our account cancelled as she is no longer attending class.

I signed my child up for tae kwan do classes in Moss Bluff, LA in February 2022. The billing contract is handled by Amerinational Management Services. In March 2022, the Moss Bluff studio closed. The owner of the studio agreed to cancel the contract. Several phone calls with AMS assured me the contract would be canceled, yet they are harassing me with "past-due notices" and threatening my credit. I've had to cancel my credit card and file a complaint with my credit card company since they refused to stop billing me for a service that is impossible to provide AND for a contract that the owner of the studio agreed to cancel. I want confirmation that this contract is void, that they will STOP contacting me, and that my credit is not affected by their unscrupulous business practices.

Enrolled our daughter in America's best karate and signed an agreement for auto-pay with Amerinational Management services was not aware the "contract" was with AMS and was told it was with America's best karate. Americas best karate also knew my husband was under military orders for only one year and they said it would not be a problem to cancel when my husbands orders were finished we would just have to submit a copy of the orders. I called AMS and repeatedly got hung up on and their representatives were rude and unwilling to help terminate our payments even with multiple different documents I could provide. Including: orders ending in July 2022, termination of lease for June 17th 2022 for address in Texas. I stated multiple times that I cannot provide proof of new residency or new orders until august, but did not want to continue payments because I could provide proof of move without new address for June 2022 and will not be within the state after June 2022. They continued to argue with me that myself and daughter would have to be on the military orders not just my husband which is NOT how military orders work to be able to discontinue payments so they would not accept his end of orders for Texas. I will not continue to make payments for a business that I am no longer living in the same state as and will not continue to have to submit documentation past ending military orders to get this resolved and my account be relived of any obligation of payment and the account be zero and not reported to collections.

I met with someone to take over their month-to-month contract in December that had 9 months left. When signing, I had a hard time understanding the instructor's English, and the guy I was taking over for also seemed to leave out information for me. Consequently, I was not verbally made aware of a possible 2 month trial period or that to end the contract, I would basically have to be medically unfit, move, or pay the *entire* contract. // I was also not made aware that there were very few other adults taking classes while the instructor chuckled. I waived it off that he was amused by my admission of lack of prior martial arts experience. I ended up taking classes with mostly <12-year-olds. There is also no mention of ~$70 fees to get promoted. // I went for a couple months until my job got too busy in early March, and I could no longer reliably attend. I then tried to amicably end my contract with the studio itself and then with this company who they told me to talk to. Both parties completely rejected any idea of cancellation past paying the entire rest of the contract. They refused to budge or compromise to paying 1-2 months. // The Amerinational Management Services guy also became very aggressive and rude the second time I called trying to work something out before saying I would have to pay >$1300, buying out the remainder of the contract, to leave. I also had to correct their math on this since they recorded that I had one more payment than months on the contract. // I can no longer attend due to lack of time from work - if I were to attend, I would have trouble at work, which potentially would make me unable to pay anyways. They have been calling me daily during work hours, interrupting my concentration since April 15th when I stopped paying. // I want my contract ended, a refund on the last $189 charge on my credit card on March 15th, no further billing, no credit report complaint, and no further contact.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/28) */ In regards to the above complaint Mr.**** did sign a 9 month agreement which he is responsible to complete. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/04/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I want to be released from this contract. Significant information was not given on signing. Release "terms" are ridiculous.

In May 2021, I signed my 2 daughters up for karate lessons at Universal Karate Studio in San Antonio, Texas. I filled out the paperwork (names, address, etc. and signed the paper). I was under the impression it was a month to month pay thing with this company auto-debiting my account. I was never informed there was a contract that I was bound to for a year, nor did I receive any "Welcome Packet" from the billing company as they stated. I assumed if you didn't pay or if you quit the classes, you would be done. I emailed the karate studio owner a little over a month ago to let him know that we were no longer going to be coming to class due to financial and health issues. He told me to contact Amerinational Management Services, Inc. to let them to to cancel. I called them and they told me I could not cancel with them, but I had to cancel with the karate studio. I followed up with another email to the karate studio. He offered a discounted rate, but said he understood our issue. I figured it was done and over with. I received a phone call in early November 2021 from Amerinational Management Services, Inc. telling me I was still under contract, but they noted that I said I was unable to pay any further. The call ended. I spoke with Lisa. Once again, I assumed it was all taken care of. I just received a a letter and a payment booklet for Nov. 2021 through May 2021. I was confused as to why I was getting this. I called the customer service number and spoke to Lisa again. She said even though we are not utilizing the karate classes, we still were under contract (which I believe is really shady) and we had to pay. I told her again we were not able to pay. She said she could extend the payments or we could make partial payments when we were able. Again I told her we just want to cancel the account. I am not paying for a service we are not using. She said she could not cancel our account. I told her I didn't want this going into collections, she said she can't cancel account

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2021/12/09) */ In regards to the above complaint the customer's account has been cancelled. Consumer Response /* (2000, 13, 2021/12/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I accept the response from the business as long as my account has been cancelled AND there is a zero balance and no money owed.
