I rented a condo for my 25th wedding anniversary in Destin, Fla this past week. September 2024. I had my brother and his wife meet us driving from Alabama for four nights and when we arrived there was a stackable washer/dryer in the entryway blocking the entrance to the condo. We were told they would move it back into the closet. It was broken waiting on a part that would be fixed some time on Wednesday, how kind of them to offer me a credit for 1.5 days if I stayed to not have a washer. Flying from Massachusetts to FLA for just four nights and five days I was not putting time and effort into this. We did not stay and booked in the same complex. Paid $1166.16 for panhandle 4 nights one bedroom and pull out couch and a paid $728.85 for 2 bedroom 2 bath direct with ********* cove! Stay away from Panhandle Getaway. They do not care about customers! Because I did not stay they refused to give me a canceled rate if $778.16 or the day and 1/2 credit they promised. I have learned my lesson.Panhandle Getaways

Upon arrival, we understand that the washer and dryer being temporarily placed in the entryway was inconvenient. As communicated, the unit was promptly moved back into the closet, and repairs were scheduled to address the issue. While we understand your decision to seek alternative accommodations, we would like to clarify that your reservation was made through Booking.com, and as such, any cancellations or refunds are managed through their platform. 1 starThis company was a default for a Hotels.com mistake in their listing. They referred us to Panhandle Getaways, which initially seemed great. At day 2 of a week vacation in a townhouse, construction started outside and made using the back and front porch, as well as parking, impossible for 5 days! We had people working on the windows as we slept before 8:00 AM! The deck was not usable and front door was blocked most days. The noise and workers on deck at at windows was from 8:00- 6:00 each day. Horrible, and when called, they said the were not aware that construction was planned that week. No compensation or changing of the location. Not even a ‘sorry’. When we tried to contact them on the last day and thereafter, they never answered. Hotels.com also was not able to reach them. 1 starThere were many disappointments with our stay through Panhandle Getaways. Broken, missing items, a floor that left our feet black, infestation of centipedes and caterpillars, 6 coffee cups for 11 adults…. But the biggest frustration was no pedestrian key fob to get out of our development for walks and bike rides. I contacted the company several times but never received a fob. We would have to hang around the gate waiting for someone else coming or going to let us out. It was ridiculous to be trapped in our development! No early morning bike rides or evening walks for ice cream. The other extremely frustrating thing is trying to reach someone at the managerial or corporate level. I’ve called and sent emails. The response is that my complaint has been forwarded to a manager who will be in touch. But I haven’t heard from anyone. I will never book through Panhandle Getaways again and I caution others to do so.Review fromCarmen C

1 starI booked a condo in Santa Rosa Beach, Fl, 30A because it was advertised (I have pictures of the ad) that it had a private beach. We arrived on Friday, 5.24.24 and immediately went to the beach. (We couldn’t go to our condo and everyone I spoke with refused to let us in the room prior to 4pm even though the room was ready). My husband went in the ocean and when he came out, he sat on the edge of the sand. He was immediately approached by a man named Lee. He said we were not allowed there that it was private beach. I told him, we had a reservation for a private beach. He said he has heard that 600 times and that we needed to go to the public beach. I immediately contacted Panhandle Getaways and was told that we were to use the public beach and a picture was texted to me with a clear line outlining where we were not allowed. Our vacation was ruined! Panhandle Getaways FALSELY ADVERTISED a private beach and purposely misled me into believing we would have use of a private beach when it was not true. I want someone from the corporate office to call me. This is fraud. This is just wrong! Save your money! Don’t use this fraudulent company!Review fromJeremiah R

My family visited on July 13th to 16th 2023. We booked a studio with a king size bed and a sleeper sofa. Our total was 1300.00. We arrived at 4pm on the 13th and began to settle. During so I pulled the sleeper sofa which was really only a sleeper chair and discovered the tiny mattress was possibly wet. Within an hour or so I noticed an odor from the sofa.Finally maintenance shows up with an air mattress.Friday arrives, all day the sleeper chair is in the room. I ask several times for someone to please get it out because my son has allergies and asthma and it was causing a reaction from the mold or mildew. When we arrived back at the resort our door code was not working so I contacted support and they gave me a different code which didn’t work via text. That’s where a representative answered and without me being able to explained the situation, she cut me off and said I would need to wait until 4pm.Finally I just kept repeating let me speak to a supervisor and her response was why because your an extremely rude person! I was shocked.. No one ever arrived to get the sofa chair and the representative ask if my husband would move it. my husband has to move the furniture alone and pulls a muscle in his back. The next morning I was greeted by cockroaches in the microwave. I contacted supported and they wanted to come spray the room. , my child has asthma and I don’t want to be suffocated with roach spray. Later that day a manager called and offered us 300.00 . We went on and took the offer because at this time our trip would be ending soon, we hadn’t been offered any type of relocation the last night of our stay I was woken by itching on my arm. I turned on a light to see I had been bitten several times by something. I contacted support to let them know and they assured me there was no bugs in our room even though the roaches were invading the microwave. . I took all the sheets off of the king size bed to find stains, blood spots, and who knows what else.Panhandle Getaways

NEVER USE THIS AGENCY!!!! I rented through VRBO but the property was hosted through Panhandle Getaways. I was not informed there was MAJOR construction at the property I was renting. NO ONE CONTACT ME IN ADVANCE TO LET ME KNOW. When we arrived, I called them, and the agent Sandy basically called me a liar and said the property is not understand construction but I have the photos to PROVE... I requested to be moved to another condo and she told me that the manager would have to call me THIS WAS AT LIKE 3pm. The manager Joe finally called me at 9pm that even leaving us with no choice but to stay there. Joe "the manager" told me he would call me the following evening and he didn't I got an email instead letting me know they would refund $170 or the $3100 I spend to stay there. It was LOUD, HAMMERING, SAWS, WE HAD TO PARK ON THE ROAD. MY family vacation was not a vacation at all. I HAVE VIDEOS AND MANY PHOTOS TO PROVE THE CONSTRUCTION THAT THEY SAID WAS NOT HAPPENING. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE CONSTRUCTION BEFORE ARRIVING TO HAVE TIME TO FIND ANOTHER RENTAL. NO ONE CALLED ME AND PANHANDLE GETAWAYS REFUSED TO MAKE THIS RIGHT FOR MY FAMILY VACATION. We booked Room **** at Calypso Resort Tower III through Panhandle Getaways (PG) and paid them upfront for 6 nights (6/21/2023 - 6/27/2023) via direct debit to avoid the 3.5% credit card convenience fee. On Friday 6/23, around 3pm, I was falsely accused of throwing ice from our 10th story balcony into the pool area. In reality, I just came back from the gym to our room and was waving at my wife (who is 21 weeks pregnant) and boys (5 and 7) below at the hot tub area right by the pool while talking with them on the phone. I never threw ice, nor had a motive to or even a thought of throwing ice. However, the Panhandle Guest Services Manager accused me and disregarded all the evidence that I was willing to provide to prove myself innocent and refused to check their video surveillance to verify it. When we appealed to speak to higher management, she claimed sole responsibility for the eviction and left for the day. Having travelled from Colorado for a family beach vacation, we scrambled to find a hotel for the evening and the coming days before our flight home. PG has refused to refund us our money for the nights we were evicted, thus violating Florida statute 509.141, which states that evicted guests who have paid in advance shall receive the refund of the unused portion of their advanced payment. Meanwhile, the same evening they posted that room 1009 was already available for booking the following day. We have emailed PG multiply times and have explained everything in detail yet haven`t received any valid explanation of their poor customer treatment. They dodged our requests, questions, and after a couple of days stopped communicating. Throughout this entire process we have been careful to document everything in writing and can provide this evidence. I hope that PG will see this post and will refund our money, publicly apologize, and will attempt to show some semblance of responsibility and honesty.Panhandle Getaways

It is now 3/26/2024 and Panhandle Getaways has still not refunded the unused portion of our advanced payment which totals approximately $1,700. Our baby has since been born and between a newborn, working full time, and living in Colorado, going through the legal process to reclaim the $1,700 has not been possible.Review fromJordan N

Unit did not have a working dishwasher and the electrical outlets did not function in the bathrooms. Property Management refused to move us to a unit that was functioning when I requested to be moved after their technician was not able to resolve the issue when given a full day to attempt to fix the issues. Would not recommend renting through this company.Panhandle Getaways
