I participated in an online auction where a coin I was interested in buying was displayed with a appraised value of 1770 dollars and in a BU grade. I purchased this coin, a 1925D Indian head gold 2.5 dollar coin, for 920 dollars. After receiving the coin I has it graded by a NGC registered dealer that graded the coin at no better than an EF grade making the coin worth approximately 400 dollars. After contacting the coin company they informed me that they would have not sold me a mint state represented coin at an extra fine grade and informed me to take it up with the online site provider, *******. My claim is being evaluated by ******* ,but I would like to have it on record that this company,PBF GOLD&COIN, misrepresents coin grades by a large disparity in my case 15 grade points.

This case has been reviewed by ********* Trust & Safety including a full review of the live auctions video and they have determined that the claims of the buyer are indeed false. The buyer had left a negative review on our ******* profile and it has also been removed by ********* Trust & Safety on 15FEB2024.

Furthermore, the buyer did not get the coin graded by a professional and certified grading service. As discussed with the buyer on messages within the ******* platform, the buyer took this coin to a local coin shop to sell the coin. The coin shop told him it was a lower grade which is a common tactic certain shops are known to perform in order to purchase coins from unsuspecting customers at a lower cost.

After reviewing the video receipt of the live stream, we can assure that this coin was in fact uncirculated.

The response was false I was not trying to sell the coin I was there specifically for an initial grading  and to send it off for for grading to NGC, also the complaint was refined with ******* and is still ongoing while we ait for formal documentation about the grade of the coin. So this incident is not closed from ******* just waiting for the documentation to finish it. The wait ime is in access to 30 days for official grading and an additional 45 dollars my expense.

As I have told the BBB person on the phone call I had with them, this is a ******* Support issue, and not a PCB Gold & Coin issue at this point. Only ******* support staff can provide customer refunds on their platform. PCB Gold & Coin does not have the ability to request, issue or approve refunds once an item has been shipped.

As I have already once reported, we have reviewed the video receipts with ******* staff and they have concluded the same as what we concluded. There is no issue, and the coin was BU condition.

Please close this issue and if the customer wants to continue this path or course of action, this complaint should be directed to ********* Legal Team and removed from PCB Gold & Coins record.

    Complaint: 21259063

I am rejecting this response because: I have had three separate appraisals of the coin in question, that all confirm the coin is not a mint state coin, and at the request of ******* the site which sponsors the vendor, I have had to send the coin off for a formal grading at my expense to prove that the coin was misrepresented in the sale process. I am awaiting the return of the coin from NGC to complete the process with ******* of my dispute. The expected ti.e line was 30 days. The coin was shipped off approximately 13 days ago. I will gladly attach a picture of the official graded coin when I have received it back.

    Sincerely,

    Jason ******
