I have been trying to get help for over a year and a half, which is why I am not reaching out within the first year of the work being done. I started trying to get help just after the work was done. The work might be good if you get a good subcontractor, but I didn't. The company is not standing behind the subcontractor's work. Multiple issues arose. I have a pool fence. I confirmed when they removed it that they would mark the holes, so the fence could be put back in. Not all of the holes were marked. They didn't know how to put the fence back, which wasn't a big deal, since I did it quickly on my own. But, that's when I saw the missing holes. When holes were redrilled, they were all different depths, so the fence never stood properly and the gate was no longer functional. The drilled holes also damaged the new deck. Separately, an area started chipping. When I finally got the owner to respond and come out, he pulled out the chips, but never returned. He also told me that the sales person should have told me that the surfacing doesn't last forever. I didn't intend to spend over $8K for something that would have issues from moment one. (The area that chipped/****** happened shortly after the work was complete.) I am a single working Mom, and this project was a lot of money for me. The deck isn't safe and is a mess. I have young kids and little time for anything else. I have spent so many hours trying to get help, but the owner clearly doesn't care once he gets his money. These are the other issues. I had them replace the drainage system, but it isn't working properly. There also weren't drain holes drilled from the patio, so the water pools and creates mildew (and probably mold). The edges were the deck meets the grass wasn't done properly, but I'm focused on the big issues.

Pavers were installed in a timely manner and done very well I might add. However, Apex did not come back to seal the pavers as the contract stated they would. I have tried reaching out several times with some feedback that it would be accomplished. It has been several months trying to get the pavers sealed. I text and call now to no avail. I get no responses or anything. Please either refund the difference for the sealant ($300 to have some other company seal pavers), or make it right and get the pavers sealed. After all this hassle, I would not recommend Apex Total Construction LLC. Not that they are not good at installation, but because they will not finish the job in a timely manner.

I contacted Apex Total Construction for an estimated for a pool deck renovation and pool resurfacing. A rep from Apex (*******************) came to my house and sent me an estimate on 2/10/22. The estimate did not include the pool resurfacing. I contacted **** and he stated that he made a mistake and sent me a new estimate on 2/17/22 for a total of $17,949. I decided to move forward with the job. **** came to my house on 3/2/22 and I picked the color of the diamond bright and also the color and style of the water line tile. I gave ******************* a check for 50% of the estimate of $8,974 and electronically signed the estimate on his phone. On 3/7/22 I received a phone call from ******************* stating that he made another mistake on the estimate and that he did not include the cost of the water line tile. He stated that the new cost was $21,349 and sent me a new estimate. I contacted ******************* back and informed him that I did not agree with the new terms, asking him for a full refund of the deposit. He stated that I was going to get the full refund, but the owner was going to call me to discuss. I received a call from the owner *************************** on 3/10/22 and I informed him the same thing and he stated that I was going to get a full refund the following week. I did not receive the refund the following week, so I texted and called *************************** multiple times. On 3/31/22 *************************** texted me stating that he was going to send it minus a 20% cancellation fee and sent me $7,180. First, the only reason why I didnt move forward with the job was because they tried to charge me more after the terms were agreed. If they couldnt deliver on the initial agreement is Apex responsibility, not on me. Second, this 20% cancellation fee was never included in any of the documents Apex sent to me, nor in any of the verbal discussions with ******************* or ***************************. Therefore, Apex must refund my deposit in full. Therefore, I request the refund of the remaining $1,794 back to me immediately.
