  National Moving Services *** Moving Companies review My 70 year old parents contacted this service to move them from ***** to ************ to be nearer to our family after my father was diagnosed with lung cancer. Unbeknownst to all of us they set this up on their own with very little knowlege of such things. They were charged $19,000 initially and an additonal $800 at the time of loading because the quote was off. They have been in ND for over a week now. I was FINALLY able to reach someone {an actual person} to find out what was going on. My parent's belongings are in ****************, in storage and we have no idea when to expect delivery. They took their things that were to be delivered to ************, from ***** to **************** and put it in storage. They have 0 furnishings. They have 0 cooking supplies. They walked into an EMPTY home and we have used friends and family to help them limp along. I understand they are a broker company but someone needs to be held accountable. I am apalled. Just......ugh.

  This company was supposed to move us from **************** to ****. We ended up staying in **************** and bought a new house four miles from our previous location. Our stuff was stored 35 miles from our location. It took over 2 months to receive our stuff. Nationwide subcontracted to a business in **************** that did a horrible job. I called Nationwide numerous times to try to get our situation resolved. All they would do is send me from one person to another. They lied and told us everything we want to hear to get business with them once we put it deposit down with them we were stuck. The cost of the moving to **** cost ** $11,000. The move could have cost ******* or $5,000. Originally the move was supposed it cost about $7,000. By the time we got to Moving Day we are up to $11,000. It was a day of our move and we had no choice. They set you up and they hold your stuff ******. They will not refund us any of our money. Whenever you would call they would hang up continuously or send you to someone else. They said we would get white glove treatment and that our stuff would be stored securely in the truck that the items were moved in so that they would not be moved several times. It was all a lie. Our stuff was moved numerous times almost every single piece of furniture was destroyed to the point that we had to throw things away. There were no help at all with anything once a subcontract is out of their hands. The people that moved us were scary and had horrible attitudes to the point where we almost had to call the police. When I talk to Nationwide I asked him what was taking so long to get our stuff I asked if we should get an attorney general to get our stuff moved out because I didn't think our stuff even existed anymore, they responded by saying that might be a good idea. I was horrified! They wouldn't help us at all once they were paid we were on our own.
