This auto business applies ceramic coating to my vehicle in 2022. For the last 6 weeks I have been attempting to contact them regarding the 5 year warranty as the roof of my vehicle has rust (which should not occur with ceramic coating), an appointment with the shop resulted in them no showing to their business. Text and phone calls remained unanswered. I want them to honor the 5 year warranty and correct the problem.Business response

I'm very sorry for the lack of communication. Unfortunately, after an injury about a year ago I have not been in the shop and have been relying on employees to cover new and existing customers. This doesn't always work out perfectly. In regard to the vehicle, ceramic coating bonds itself within a substrate. If there is not enough of this material there for it to bond to, it may not stop oxidation from happening which is what sounds like has happened with your vehicle. There is no way of telling how much paint or clear coat is left with the naked eye. Even the devices used to measure paint thickness cannot distinguish paint vs. clear. If the vehicle has been brought in for the yearly refresh that is required for the warranty, we can usually see signs of this happening way before rust appears. I am very sorry for the inconvenience, but it sounds like there was definitely a paint defect with the vehicle, especially if you are seeing rust in that short of a time.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:nothing was given to me stating a yearly check was required. My receipt states 5 year warranty. Again, my request is the repair be done. Otherwise a lawyer may need to be involved.
