I bought a 2022 Lincoln Corsair on May 6, 2023. This was a new vehicle. Gettel offered "Auto ******". A service where they will pick up my vehicle and clean inside and out and apply a special coating for 5 years. Also they will pick up the car for routine maintenance. This was very desirable and was the reason I purchased this vehicle instead of a ******** that I was also considering. In my Contract with Gettel "Buyer's Order, ******************* Information Form". There are two line items covering this: Maintenance Agreement $861 and Auto ****** $686 for a total of $1547.I received a card from Gettel Lincoln stating I am due for an Auto ****** in November. When I contacted them in late October, I received a message that they are closing Gettel Lincoln and I could schedule this with Gettel ******. (Note ****** carries many different cars under their name). When I called ****** ****** I was informed that they will honor Auto ****** however they will no longer pick up my Lincoln. I would need to drive to *********** and wait until they cleaned my vehicle. So they are not honoring their Contract.When I called Lincoln, they indicated they would not do anything as Gettel in no longer one of their dealers. So I only received their service for 17 months out of 60 and based upon the Contract ****** still owes me $1,109. I would like this refunded to me as I no longer want to deal with an questionable organization,Business Response

Thank you for the information. The Auto ****** program reapplications are honored at any of our stores here in *********** as we are all located on the same campus as Lincoln. As for the pick up and delivery service, that is not a Gettel **************** program, it's a manufacturer program through Lincoln. There are Lincoln dealerships located in ********, *********, Ft ***** and ****** that can provide service, both maintenance and warranty.

I am rejecting this response because ****** needs to honor their obligations. Regarding the Auto ****** - I purchased this vehicle through GETTEL Lincoln. I could have purchased this vehicle from other Lincoln dealers; however, I chose Gettel because of the convenience as Gettel was much closer than other Lincoln dealers and the fact they would pick up the vehicle for this and other maintenance. I did not pay Lincoln directly for the vehicle, I bought through ****** who I guarantee Gettel made money on this sale. So I want Gettel to stand buy their sale. The other Lincoln dealers are about 30 miles farther away, 60 miles round trip. I guess I eat this cost although I already paid Gettel for this service. Is this fair?What about the 5 years of free oil changes that I paid for? Will other Lincoln dealers honor this? I still need to drive there and back on my nickel. I'm sure Gettel knew there would be some additional costs in their analysis to close this part of their many dealerships. If they were in Chapter 11 or 13 I would understand, however this was their business decision. I guess they are getting more pure profit from their decision at my expense.

Thank you for the information. The Auto ****** package has a series of re-applications. The applications are done for all of the *********** dealerships at the same location, which is on the *********** campus. The Lincoln location is on the same property as the facility that does the re-applications. The pick up and delivery service is not a Gettel program. It is a program through Lincoln motor company which is completely separate from the ***************** product. Lincoln dealerships do offer the service. The maintenance program that you purchased and are referring to in your response can be honored at our ****** dealership which is on the same property as the Lincoln dealership. We do not offer pick up and delivery but are a part of the **** program which can take you home and pick you up while your vehicle is in for service or Auto ****** re-applications.

I dropped my car off on August 17th. They did not tell me they were closing their doors. They were down to just two technicians. Today is September 23rd. I have made at least 25 phone calls a week. Seeking answers. They have taken the transmission out of my car. Last week when I walked in because they stopped taking my phone calls they told me their technician was on a week's vacation and that my car would just sit since they were down to just two technicians cuz they were closing their doors. This has been a nightmare for me. I am going on $1,500 worth of Rent-A-Car expenses and they don't seem to care. They have disabled my car so it was not drivable. I was not able to remove it and yet it just sits one excuse after another because they are closing and they don't care. This has been the worst experience I have ever had at any car dealership for any service of any sort They have done nothing but lie to me and stall me.Business Response

Thank you for the information. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. The reason for the delay has been parts delays, which has been a nation wide issue as well as a labor shortage of technicians that specialize in transmission and engine work.

Thank you for the information. I met with the management staff and found that they had spoken with Mr. ********** The vehicle was purchased AS - IS with no warranty. All documents were signed as such. The customer was aware of the sunroof issue before purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle was also put through, and passed a safety inspection by our service department. I would be glad to schedule an appointment for the customer to come in and have our service department review the list of findings from the customer's mechanic.

On Oct. 21, 2023 I purchased a new Lincoln Aviator Plug in Hybrid. When I filed my income tax this year, the vehicle qualified for a $7500 Electric Vehicle Federal tax credit. Therefore I also over paid the sales tax of the vehicle. I tried to resolve this by phone with the dealership with no success. Per the attached letter from FL **** of ************* I (customer) cannot apply for the sales tax overpayment refund from the Fl ***. The letter states I need to obtain the overpayment refund from the dealer and the dealer refuses to do so. The *** letter explains what forms/actions the dealer must take. The dealer can claim credits against taxes or a refund and then provide me the refund of the overpayment. They can also assign me the dealer's rights to the refund by simply filling out a Form ******* After obtaining and executed DR26A, I can them apply directly to FL *** for the sales tax overpayment by filing a Form DR26S. Did the dealer already obtain the refund and is now keeping it instead of refunding it to me? Why won't the dealer simply assign the overpayment refund to me by filing out the DR26A?Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:The Florida ************************ (****) has no authority to make decisions on Florida Tax Law. Dealer procedures/options for obtaining refund of state sales tax overpayment are clearly defined in (previously provided) ****************** of ******* (FLDO) letter. Dealer has known about this since Feb. 28, 2024 and taken no action to contact the **** during that period. See attached e-mail string, "Gettel Dead End Response" They simply did nothing about this for 3 months outside of Gettel Corporate. Instead of looking for a decision from **** they should be addressing the matter with ****************** of ******* by simply e-mailing ***************************** ************************************ Mr. Charity works for **************, Executive Director, ****************** of *******, Technical Assistance and Dispute Resolution. He is identified as the point of contact in the ****************** of ******* letter.
This BBB response is similar to Gettel's responses to me where on Feb. 29 the General Manager states" We were unable to use the $7,500 as a discount on a vehicle in 2023." when the sales tax refund is not a "discount" but a sales tax refund. On March I, I was told that the General Manager was referring the matter to the corporate accounting department. On March 7, I again informed the General Manager of the ***** letter. He said that he referred the matter to their Corporate Controller for clarity. On March 12, the General Manager stated, "Everyone that she has contacted has said that there is no refund as we never charged the amount to you, that you are getting the full tax credit of the amount and there is nothing in 2023 that shows that in addition to that you would get a refund." This answer neglects to address the $7500 is a FEDERAL tax credit and fact that I paid Fl Sales Tax on the $7500 and am requesting a sales tax refund on the $7500. I cannot believe that they don't understand the difference between a discount, FEDERAL tax credit and my request of a FL sales tax refund on the $7500. On March 12 the General Manager stated that he was still waiting for a response from his March 7 request for clarity. This dead ended my communication with the General manager.
This tactic is similar to making a purchase of the car where salesmen keep juggling numbers (playing games) during negotiations in a manner that the purchaser cannot clearly follow and understand. When I look at the invoice for this car, I am unable to see how everything was calculated.
Why is Gettel refusing to simply contact ***************************** ********************************* and continuing to avoid resolution of the real issues....refund of FL sales tax overpayment. ???

We bought a 2023 Lincoln Corsair on December 15, 2023. When we first got it home and took it for a spin we started noticing things. The navigation screen squeaked, a lot. We also noticed that the overhead control console was not flush with the ceiling. We called and made an appointment to get it in for service. We were told it would take two weeks to get the appointment because of all the snowbirds were wanting their cars fixed. This is a new purchase! They finally picked up our car and dropped off a tank! As a loaner. They have had it for 2 weeks. Every time we call and inquire, we are told that they do not know when it will be repaired, but it is a known issue! When we ask to speak to a manager, we get voicemail. We just hang up. Today I reached out via ******** Messenger, they started to respond and then nothing. If they can't fix my car, I want a replacement without a squeak. Even if it means it, you have to give me a different model. At no additional cost! I honestly believe that their overall service (especially the service department.) has a "I really don't give a c*** after we get our money attitude." We even paid for the extended warranty. We purchased a car from this dealership 2/25/23 and ****** was our sales guy. The whole sales process went fine they let us know there was a 3/** 3,000mile warranty but did not say what was included so we assumed it was bumper to bumper. This vehicle started having issues with jerking 3 days after buying it. I called and spoke to ****** who told me they need to get it into the service department and that they would call me to schedule it. A week went by and I got no call. I called again he said the same thing, after 3 days I made an appointment myself. Before I brought it in the service department told me if its anything with the Engine or transmission it has to go to Gettel ******** I took it to them and ended up paying for diagnostic and was told nothing was wrong with my vehicle. Took it home, had the same issue a few weeks later. Took it back to Gettel Lincoln they drove it said nothing was wrong with it and told me it was fine. Fast forward to the end of April and every time I slow down or speed up its jerking i immediately drove it back to Gettel Lincoln and had a sales guy drive it to prove what it was doing. Its been in **************** center since then. I was given a loaner by Gettel ******* which was great until they told me it would be almost a month for my vehicle to get done and I had to drive to *********, they told me they would rent me a car through enterprise to take out of state and I have text messages that tell me to keep the car from enterprise, I got a call today that they want me to pay out of pocket for the rental car for a whole week starting today, they gave me less then 8 hours, I was never called to inform me. ******************* managed to get the fees waived but I am now here with no car at all to get to work. Its been in the shop more then its been on the road. I have had horrible customer service and a vehicle that does not drive. Im at my **** end as I cannot get to work now. I have NOT contacted their dealership for any reason in the last 4 years yet they keep calling me. We shredded the list immediately and ran an updated list. I confirmed that ********************** name was not on our updated list and also confirmed that ****************** is on our internal DO NOT CONTACT list. I apologized to ****************** for this incident and explained how it happened and that the salesperson referenced a previous list that is now shredded. I am rejecting this response because:As I have stated many times, this business does not embrace nor practice ethical policies. You can see from the original complaint (one week ago) that the business made many assertions that my contact info was deleted. The same had been told to me several times in the past 4 years, and yet I still get solicitation calls from them. For them to claim that a "mysterious, unknown list" magically appeared is simply not credible. How many more "mysterious and unknown lists" exist, and how many more times will I receive unwanted solicitation calls from Gettel? This game they are playing can conceivably go on forever!
In their response last week, they claim that if I contact their dealership, my contact info goes back on their solicitation list. I never called, walked in, sent a letter to, emailed, or used any other form of communication with them in the last 4 years, but I still get calls. And this is after many requests by me to not be contacted, and many promises by Gettel that I would not. Yet here we are, 4 years of broken promises (lies) and as recently as Friday the tenth of this month, I am still getting unwanted solicitation calls.
A reasonable person would conclude that these people are mocking the system and they have no intention of standing behind their word. In their desperate attempt to gain more car sales, they will continue on their path of solicitation with no regard for my privacy or wishes.
There is a reason that car dealerships have a bad reputation, and this issue is a prime example.
If this company is sincere in their promises, I should get a written letter on their company letterhead stating I will never be contacted again and how they will compensate me if they do. And, I should be compensated for the aggravation that has been forced on me by the four years of numerous previous unwanted solicitation calls, unfulfilled promises, time wasted in pleading with them to stop calling me, and the time I have had to spend dealing with BBB complaints. This was all initiated by Gettel, they should not be immune from the consequences of their actions. I wish I never had to deal with a problem like this, but it was Gettel that caused the problem and it must be Gettel that accepts full responsibility.

I have filed 2 previous complaints against this company for unwanted solicitations (# ********). You have closed both complaints based on lies from the company. They have lied numerous times that I have been removed from all solicitation lists. I HAVE NOT. I just received a mailed solicitation today. Last week it was an email solicitation. PLEASE look through your record and see how many times this company lied about removing my contact info. Then please explain to me why you do not act.
This is the on-going sales solicitation from Gettel that will not cease. ******************************* has promised numerous times to delete my contact info from ALL lists (read your own records). It disturbs me that the BBB keeps closing the complaint while Gettel continues to ******* me with unwanted solicitations. They need to be reprimanded.Business Response

Thank you for the information. I have removed ****************** from the dealership contact list. Everyone is well aware not to contact him. The marketing piece that he received is from an outside marketing company. I have spoken with the company and made sure that all marketing companies that we use at the dealership have ********************** information to make sure they delete him from their marketing base. This is how ********************** information appears in our customer base. We don't even have his number or address listed.

I am rejecting this response because:On at least 5 occasions (1/31/23, 2/1/23, 2/13/23, 5/22/23, 5/30/23), *********** has assured me and the BBB that my name has been removed from ALL lists. If you are paying attention, you will see that these were lies, and there is absolutely no reason to believe a known liar now. What's next? Another source of marketing that they forgot about? Here's a unique concept: *********** stop his "Salesman Gig" for ten minutes and contacts every marketing source they use. This way we can finally put a stop to the harassment. Until the BBB puts a fire under this company, the harassment will continue. Read the entire history of this complaint. Make note of how many times that *********** stated that the issue was resolved...then look at today's date and ask, "Why is this issue still active?"
(I'll give you the answer: *********** lies, and the BBB believes the lies, and closes the complaint. This empowers Gettel to continue on their unethical path, thus making the BBB complicit.)

I am rejecting this response because:I have filed several complaints with the BBB against this company for their continued harassment with sales promotions. Their GM, *******************************, has lied in every response. He has promised a dozen times to remove me from their marketing lists. Every promise was a lie. They have never ceased sending me solicitations. This is an unethical company, with a GM that lies in every correspondence. I received another solicitation 8/12/23.

I am rejecting this response because:It should not be my responsibility to stop a solicitation instigated by Gettel. Gettel should take any and all steps to live up to their promises of removing me from any and all solicitation lists. This was promised by *********** over ten times. I demand that Gettel take immediate action to contact Lincoln and have my information permanently deleted. This issue has dragged on for 4 years. It was caused by Gettel, and Gettel must end it...permanently.
