I am deeply disappointed in the way my wife was treated by Amped Fitness at the Tyrone location. She had a female personal trainer for 5 months, but during the last month of her 6-month contract, the trainer was unexpectedly fired. When my wife reached out for a resolution, ****** May (male trainer) the manager, told her that she either had to accept a male trainer or face ongoing charges and penalties. ****** **** unprofessionalism and disregard for my wifes comfort and preferences were shocking, especially as a FEMALE. My wife specifically signed up for a female trainer for personal reasons, and to be told that she had no other option is simply unacceptable. We are now seriously considering filing a lawsuit over this unethical and discriminatory behavior.

Me and my friend were racially discriminated. We are black girls. I literally just bought my membership the day before we walked in at 8:01 on the dot. The girl told me that I could not bring a guess we said OK we went to the car and then happened to watch a group of Caucasian people walk straight through the door not even ringing their badge and without a problem, we then went back in and she still told us to leave when we asked why when all that group of Caucasian people walk in you didn’t say anything she did not say anything and just proceeded to lead us out the door!! Not to mention, it was very nasty and rude staff is very racist not all of them, but some of them are!!

Hi *****, i just came across your review. Have you followed up with a claim? I am interested in pursuing a claim and would be happy to assist in covering lawyer fees to do the same. I was affected by this. I think we should gather up others affected and pursue this!!Please contact me at *****************. and we can discuss this!!!.BUYER BE WARE: They will sell you a fitness plan and then they wont allow you to cancel and will continue to charge your card. -They dont tell you that if your classes expire after 30 days if you are no longer paying their monthly personal trainer fees, so you could lose all the money youve spent on your personal trainer. -They dont wont let you cancel if THE general manger isnt there. So if shes on vacation, not in for whatever reason, or in my case, left that gym and they have no one else filling in yet, YOU'RE screwed, and expect that they will continue to bill you. Unethical business practices and as a lawyer, I will be filing with the state attorney general of ******* because they are defrauding customers by using every tactic to not allow them to cancel memberships.

Be very careful signing anything at this gym. They prey on people to sign up for personal training services, promising you can cancel if it is not a good fit. Be sure to read the fine print however becuase you are locked in for around $150 a month, and there is a minimum of a $250 cancelation fee. As if this was not enough, my wife was utilizing a personal trainer who quit, and rather than trying to follow up with us at all, they simply charged us over and over until I caught it ,and they told us oh well, that is your problem, and still charged us the $250 cancelation fee, refusing to provide any credit for the months of free money they received. Even after my wife advised the manager that we have not been able to attend due to major surgery and medical issues, she showed zero pity, and said that was not her problem. Save your money, and go to Youfit or Crunch.

So i told myself I'm gonna get back in the gym, i'm gonna get back in shape. So i finally built that courage to do. I joined not only because i was ready to make a change but because of some life situation that took place and i had no control over. On my second day at the gym i was supposed to meet with a manger by the name of Alberto, again i had some life situation to take places so i show up late, i was supposed to meet alberto at 11am but i showed up at like 2 pm. So i walked in, scanned my card and i began to walk towards the ladies locker room to go get dressed. He stopped me ask me "are you ******** ", i said yes kindly. He then said you were suppose be here at 11am, i said i'm sorry my living situation isn't the best" he then goes on to say Hey i'm not gonna force you " and i responded you can't force me to do anything honey"! I said to him i will go get dressed and if it's okay with you we can chat then, he then said well you just come find me". Moving forward I spoke to 2 different young ladies about it however, Michaela said she'd place me with the general manger as she did. The more i started coming in the more I knew and felt the staff was watching me from when i went to the restroom or change from different equipment to going outside. So i met with Clay we had an awesome conversation about my new journey, he was very prompt with all my questions however, I saw Clay on the side of the building watching me and that really hurt because it also confirm the conversation i heard between two people while i was in the restroom, Person1 " Is she in the restroom"? Person 2 .... Laughs "racist"! Every time I move someone watching and moving with me. The young girl Michaela Has a problem with people of color, she started all this watching harassment without a legit purpose other than im BLACK! She would come in the restroom while i was in there every 5 mins or send a coworker. I have done nothing wrong to anyone other than being PROFILED as something i'm not!
