On 4/5/24 I gave Clear Tech pools a deposit of $8498.50. At this point I had been dealing with their salesman *** who insured me we would have pool by July. We contacted him several times with no responses for weeks. If he did respond he would tell us they are submitting our permit and we will start soon it takes 30 days from filing. We waited almost 40 days and contacted him again. Every conversation with him was I am so sorry I have been going through a break up and he is trying to find somewhere to live. The next was his car was broke down. At this point my boyfriend was the one dealing with him. After a few months of this I wrote a letter and called the company directly voicing all my concerns and that I wanted to end the pool contract. I was directed to the supervisors they had informed me to no longer contact *** that they will handle the rest. On that call we were informed he never submitted the permit, nor sent it to engineering. They said they would expedite the process and informed me things would be better and we would have our pool. I trusted them and figured I would give them another opportunity to make the situation ******** first, they were great, keeping in constant contact and informing us of all the progress with the permit and the engineers. We discussed a start date and they said it would be in October so we put off our fall vacation going to see my family in hopes to finally see some progress with the pool.I then again voiced concern, saying if its been this terrible of an experience for this many months I cant even imagine what will happen once construction starts They informed me that I cannot get my deposit back and that we will be having somebody come the week of Thanksgiving for a pre-construction meeting, and looking to break ground between the first two weeks of December I received an email and a voicemail on December 12 requesting for the pre-construction meeting. I told them today I want my deposit and cancel. They are refusingBusiness Response

The executed contract is with ******** *********. After speaking with Sathiyan it has been confirmed we have made several attempts to schedule the work accordingly, all of which are documented in our operating system. As I discussed with Sathiyan we are well beyond the cancellation period allotted in our signed contract. I also explained at this point in the project all materials have been purchased and the permit has been pulled. This has also been confirmed on a recorded line with Sathiyan.

Hiring Cleartech Pools to move our pool pump was a decision I deeply regret. Months have passed, and the project remains incomplete despite my numerous attempts to get updates. The Project Manager, has been entirely unresponsive, forcing me to call their main line repeatedlyonly to be met with excuses and indifference.Shockingly, I was informed weeks ago that the project was marked complete in their system. However, as you can see in the attached photos, this so-called "completion" left pipes exposed, old pipes abandoned in the ground, trenches unfilled, and a pile of debris sitting on my curb. After I voiced my concerns, they sent someone out, but all they did was partially fill one trench and move the debris from the curb into my yardleaving the project still ************* has now been two more weeks, and the same cycle continues: calls to the main line since I'm not able to get through to the Project Manager, no updates, and absolutely no accountability from Cleartech Pools. Their negligence and lack of professionalism are astonishing. This company seems to have no regard for their customers or the quality of their ******* make matters worse, they charged me nearly the full project cost in September and collected the remaining balance in early November, despite the project being far from finished. The entire experience has been utterly terrible from start to (still unfinished) finish. I will have to bring in another company to complete the job and it will cost me (I dont know how much..)Business Response
Date: 12/09/2024
Per the homeowner's request he did not want us to start this job until mid September which is what transpired. Work obviously stopped during two back to back hurricanes that were a week apart (****** and ******). There was obvious devestation throughout Pinellas County which impeded a normal completion of this job. Both jobs required a trench to be dug and opened. With regard to the homeowner's concerns about Clear-Tech being unresponsive we were in unprecedented times. I apologize this is how he felt it was not a deliberate move on our part. We were truly doing the very best we could to handle the largest amount of phone calls we have ever had in 35 years. Concerning his comment about being told the job was complete we were refering to the 1st part of the job not the second. We did try to contact the homeowner regarding some concerns about the job multiple times and were told he was not available. Our concern were the pipes being located under the foundation of the new area being built by the builder. He instructed us his builder was going to deal with the location of the pipes to the footer and he did not want to do the work we had suggested since early in the project. At this point we went over the concerns and he had some of the same but instructed us his builder would handle this part and were told to keep that part of the trench open for the builder.. The homeowner wanted us to drain and clean his pool which was not initially on the agreed description of work. I personally tried contacting him twice to let him know we would take care of the pool as a courtesy. I spoke with him a few days after my phone calls and he had contracted with someone else to handle this. The items left on site were there due to a possible need for these parts . We removed them on 11/26 when we finished. The customer wants a deduction in the price agreed to for the job. I have made the deduction as a courtesy.Initial Complaint

Pool skimmer leak. Clear tech did a faulty job, everything worse than before. I was giving them a chance to resolve, but no one gets back to me. Plenty of photos and emails. This leak got worse and was never done correctly. I paid $1600.00 I want it fixed but keep getting the run around. Had gotten so bad I needed a temp repair at extra cost or my pavers would collapse as the leak progressed.Business Response

A technician that is no longer with the company over treated/oversalted my pool and the pool now needs to be completely drained and refilled with water. The company has refused to pay for the water refill and are denying wrong doing, claiming this was part of an issue from my pool being affected by Hurricane ****** in August 2023. The pool has been under this company's service since June 2022 until today, 7/11/24 when I cancelled service due to this issue. Within that time, my pool service was paused from September 2023 to January 2024 when my property, including my pool was rehabilitated from hurricane damage. When the company was rehired in January 2024 the saltlevels were correct and remained that way through their service until April 2024. However, the last 3 months the pool has been oversalted (current ranges 3 times what they should be) and they are claiming the only solution is to drain my entire pool and refill at my expense. They are refusing any wrong doing, even though they admitted the previous technician that was servicing my pool is no longer with the company due to his neglegance in caring for the pools on his route. I believe the pool company should be responsible for the cost of refilling the pool and I should receive a refund for the time my pool was under their care since rehiring them after the Hurricane (January - June 2024).Business Response

Good afternoon,
The complaint from ******************************* *********************************************************************** is incorrect. If you look at the attached photos, there is an explanation needed. The service was stopped on the property in October of 2023 after a hurricane overran the pool with gulf water. We were contracted in January to resume service. The pool water was blue so service was resumed as normal. Our technician weekly checked the pool chemistry and balance from time to time with chlorine and muriatic acid. There was only one instance notated on June 10th that any salt was added to the pool. We, in fact, did add 2 bags of salt at that time. That in no way is enough salt to increase the ppm to over ******. Each bag of salt typically will increase the level by 300-400ppm. When we had a supervisor out to the property in July and at that point we tested the salt and found it was substantially high. At that point, we reached out to ******************************* to explain what we discovered. We were blamed for the salt level being over ****** ppm. We tried to explain our findings, but unfortunately that information was not accepted. We believe the pool was never drained and refilled enough to bring down the high salt levels. With that said, we have picture documentation for every visit from January, unfortunately I can only upload 5 photos to this complaint. If more documentation is needed, please let us know so that we can send them over.

I am rejecting this response because:My address is incorrect in the companys response, but the pictures are of my pool. The pictures provided are from September 2023 and then June 2024. I would like to see the readings of the chemicals when my pool was under the previous technicians care, ******* to June 2024. I communicated my concerns weekly to the technician that the salt was high and I could taste it in the pool. The company did not provide an explanation of the issue when I called the main office. They blamed it on the hurricane and then tried to blame it on the fact that they were not aware I transitioned my pool to saltwater, even though they installed the salt system. The hurricane did affect my pool as I stated in my initial complaint, but that was in August 2023, a year ago next month. My pool levels were in range when Clear Tech was hired back to service my pool in *******. If the levels were off since the hurricane, as the company claims, then why wasnt I made aware until this complaint?

The correct address *************************************************************************************************************************************** We made a mistake when entering your address on the complaint. We are limited to 5 picture uploads. I attached a few more service records for your review. We leave door tags with that specify what chemicals were added to the pool. We believe the pool was never drained and refilled to lower the salinity. The salt system looked to be operational and producing chlorine weekly, so there was never an alert that there was a salinity issue. We added chemicals on occasion, because we never want to leave a property with 0 chlorine in the pool. When we sent a supervisor who was training the new technician on the route, he did a thorough check and found the issue with the salt levels. That was when we reported this. We have service records recorded weekly for the property to prove services were rendered.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I would like to see the water reading pictures for the service I paid for from January to June, like the picture attached from the June visit with the manager. The door hanger picture from 6/10 is the only additional picture that came through and on that visit, there was no selection made to show if my salt levels were in or out of range, even though on that visit it shows bags of salt added to the pool. In my opinion, that proves additionally the pool was not properly cared for under the services rendered when additional salt was added when not needed. After the hurricane, the pool was drained and handled properly and salt levels were correct before rehiring the company back in January. This is a lack of accountability to state the pool was not drained and properly cared for after the hurricane that occurred in August 2023, when salt levels were not properly maintained after the company was rehired.

I am working on this complaint and wanted to update the current status of the Holland Pool at ************************************************************** We have not serviced the pool since July. As a courtesy, we were going to drain and help refill the pool, and then rebalance afterwards. The current condition of the pool is attached. This is outside of the scope we came to an agreement on. This pool will required additional work and has not been maintained since we left it in July. See attached picture. Please update this complaint information.

April 10, 2023, I signed a contract for resurfacing my pool and seal pavers for $15,837.00. The tech people could not fix my pool light and installed an used light. This used light had problems and continued to leak around the metal circle. Many spots and stains appeared on the pool surface and ***** (tech) worked to fix this. He left 5 jugs of this cleaner by the pool and the crew sent to clean up used these jugs on the pavers. The stains could not be cleaned with pressure washing and ****, the owner, said he is not doing anything else. I did contact BBB601266362F4A1 and *********** and was told they would fix both problems. Nothing done, I need some help.Business Response

Back in June 2022 we signed a contract with, and paid a 10% deposit to, Clear Tech Pools to install a pool at a rental property we own. As part of signing that contract it was communicated in writing and agreed upon that the price would be locked in and work would not start until September 2023.One weekend in May 2023, our **** Estate agent notified us there were supplies and workers at the house for what looked like they were getting ready to start the pool installation. We had not had ANY communication with Clear Tech since the previous year. This took us by surprise, and we immediately called Clear Tech. We were told "they were just getting ready to stake out the pool". I reiterated 1) the pool construction wasn't supposed to start until September, 2) we had renters off and on from then through July, 3) there had been NO communication on any aspect of this project. We ended up telling them to go ahead and start the work since to us "staking out the pool" just meant laying out the shape and size of the pool on the lawn with spray paint and stakes. Before we knew it, they had broken ground and had begun pool construction. Again, with no communication from Clear Tech. We had no idea of timelines, progress, or how this may impact our renters. We ended up with 3 cancellations during the month of June due to the construction - we lost over $4,000 in rental income. July of 2023 we notified them of damage to the driveway. At the end of construction, we discovered the waterfall was leaking. Clear Tech refused to fix the waterfall until they received final payment, and denied responsiblity for the driveway. We tried to work with them on the damge and lost income, but we told by Clear Tech we had no ground to stand on. The attempted fix for the waterfall - just put sealant on the areas where it is leaking, and not fix the acutal root cause which is likely the plumbing. Overall - poor workmanship, deceptive practices, non-existant communicationBusiness Response

************* contacted our office stating we showed up early for the pool build and we were instructed not to start until September. We informed him that the build would be in the backyard and would still be able to have tenants in the home while we built it. We asked him if he wanted us to stop and he said no. We moved forward and expedited the build to finish in just over 30 days instead of the ****-day time frame outlined in the contract. Our contract also reads that we cannot guarantee a start or finish date due to circumstances beyond our control. ************** spoke with myself and agreed to remove or not give a bad ****** review and was compensated for 6 months of pool service and paid his final invoice as the pool turned out beautiful.
We were able to expedite the process opening the opportunity for ************* to have additional ***** days of rental time after the build completed.
The build process with major equipment started on 06/26/2023 and all major work was completed on 07/30/2023 On 08/08/2023 the pool was full and ready for guests to swim. They did have tenants throughout the build as they were asking if and when they could swim.
************** agreed to the complementary service and paid his final payment with indicated he was very happy with how the pool turned out.Initial Complaint

Im having issues with clear tech since October of last year paying for a service that Im not getting I cannot enjoy the pool because they leave it green or chemicals imbalance mold etcBusiness Response
Date: 07/27/2023
In response to the recent complaint regarding the pool service at **** Atis St. by ********************, this is an older pool and is in need of renovation. We have performed leak detections out here and most recently receive approval to repair the missing tiles and were then told not to proceed because the service had been stopped. Please see attached pictures for the visit on 7/18 and previous visits showing the pool is blue and clear. The following visit on 7/24 was a "lock out".
With all due respect the yard as you can see from the picture is all sand and dirt which in turn gets blown into the pool. I am not specifying this is ******************** issue as she is not the owner of the home, but between the yard and the age of the pool and the continuous leak issues the chemicals added to the pool are being diluted and therefore not effective.
It is never our intention to frustrate a customer but we are limited to our options for corrections by the owners approval of repairs.
Clear Tech has maintained the pool to the best of our ability within the parameters provided to us.
Pictures have been uploaded to validate our response.
Sincerely,
CLEAR TECH, INC.

I moved into this home 2 weeks ago and from day one I reported to my rental property management and ClearTech that the pool needed to be cleaned. Only one time was someone here to clean and it literally was less than 5 minutes. I was told June 9th the pool would be serviced again and when I called later that day they said the person was not able to clean because the pool cage doors were locked and dog was in the pool area. Those are obviously poor excuses for not cleaning. Pool cage doors were not locked and if my dog had been in the pool area the tech could have simply rang the doorbell. I was home all day. I was supposed to get service today (June 16th) and I have been home all day and no one showed up. I have called so many times in the past 2 weeks about this pool being very dirty and yet Im being ignored. I have also reported several times that two jets are not working and the rest are literally running 24 hours which sure is not going to help my electric bill. Im hosting Fathers Day this weekend for my dad and grandpa flying in from ******* and its now ruined because of this company. On top of the fact that Im paying for something that I cant use and a cleaning service that is no good. All I want is a clean pool for my kids to enjoy. I dont think ** asking for too much.Business Response

Pool service was started at this property on 6/2, please see pictures attached. The following visit on 6/9 was a lock out, photo attached showing the pool was still blue. The visit on 6/17 shows the pool was green due to 2 reasons, the first being because we were not able to treat the pool the week before because of the lock out and also found there were issues with the equipment which were noted and reported to the property management company. *********** authorized an inspection of the issues with the equipment on 6/16 (Friday) to which we evaluated on 6/20 (Tuesday) and supplied the property management company with an estimate for repair. The pool turning green was not due to anything on Clear-Tech's part. The property management company owns this home and approval for repairs have to be processed through them. We scheduled a recheck on 6/20 and the pool is turning back to blue, see attached picture.
I believe this complaint is not valid due to the above reasons stated.

Clear Tech has serviced our pool through ********** company ***************************** for the past 2 years. Each time they come out they claim to have brushed and vaccinated the pool which is a lie - rarely has it occurred. Without our knowledge they replaced our pool pump with one that has not worked since they installed it over a month ago. We havent been able to use our pool and spa since its been installed. They have come out multiple times to fix it only for it to shut back off in a day or two. They are extremely rude and have no respect for the tenant - specifically **** and ******. I told one of their pool techs to leave and he response was I dont want to be here anyway. Thankfully pathlight will be replacing them with another service provider.Business Response
Date: 04/07/2023
On 2/16/23 it was reported by our cleaning tech on his normal visit that the pump was not operating. We dispatched upon approval from the *************************** that owns the home to inspect and provide a proposal for a replacement pump if needed. It was determined the pump was not repairable and did need to be replaced and a quote was submitted immediately. After receiving approval from the management company on 2/28/23 we scheduled and replaced the pump on 3/2/23 with a single speed 1 HP pump single speed. The tenant expressed her displeasure with having a single speed pump in lieu of a variable speed pump. We explained to her that the replacement she received was what was approved by the landlord. Further, she called two additional times stating the pump was not working properly to which we immediately dispatched repair technicians to verify the operation of the pump. ********** it was confirmed the pump was running properly. Subsequently, she contacted us a third time and we booked a technician to check it again, the same day the technician was dispatched to check the pump she called in and said "Do not send anyone to my home or I will trespass them, my husband makes over $800,000.00 per year and I don't need your s___ty $10.00 pump". We tried to explain to her that the pump she received is sufficient for her pool, however is a single speed and not a variable speed. The tenant also stated that the management company was going to let her pick out her own pump.
We immediately contacted the management company to make them aware of the situation and at that time they stated they were not aware of any issues with the pump, nor providing any sort of replacement other than what we provided which was sufficient.
With regard to the pictures of the green pool. We have date and time stamped photos that you will find attached showing the pool was clean, clear and blue. The photos attached by the tenant are not noted as to what date or time they were taken. We have photos that go back six months not showing a green or dirty pool. Nor were we contacted by the management company stating the job we performed was not done correctly. It is standard protocol with this management company that if a job is not performed correctly, we would most definitely be notified and need to take corrective action.
Due to the fact that replacement of equipment must be approved and authorized by the management company, we mandated to install what the company's directive is.
I believe this is an unfair assessment of what has transpired and the bottom line is the tenant wanted a variable speed pump installed which was not authorized by the management company who owns the home. Based on the facts provided, we have performed all work to the specifications of the management company and I would request this complaint be removed.
Sincerely,
CLEAR TECH, INC.

I am rejecting this response because:Pathlight ******************* does own the home currently - completely irrelevant and its the first statement Clear Tech makes in just about every tenant complaint. It must make them feel important to say that. HOWEVER, we are in a rent to own policy with Pathlight and very well may buy the home - which is NONE of their business. Clear Techs job was to CLEAN and MAINTAIN our pool. So rather than focus on who owns the home, how about doing your job?
We pay to live in the home and for the pool service and WE DO HAVE A SAY and WE DO HAVE RIGHTS. The money Clear Tech was receiving on a monthly basis from our lessor Pathlight ******************* comes DIRECTLY from OUR pocket. Because of those reasons Pathlight DOES value our input on repairs, and we DO have a say and choice in the matter - all of which Clear Tech completely disregarded by:
1) Never informing us of ANY issue with the pool pump
2) Never informing us of their request to Pathlight to replace the pump
3) Never informing us that they were going to replace our variable speed pump with a single speed pump or their claim Pathlight wouldnt approve another variable speed pump.
4) When Pathlight created a 3-way call with me and Clear Tech to resolve this, ****** was extremely disrespectful to me which Pathlight has a recording of.
We have had many different service providers come out to the house for various repairs over the past couple of years and NEVER has any one of those companies shown such disregard for our rights as tenants and complete and utter disrespect as Clear Tech has.
Pathlight could not believe that they took it upon themselves to make all of these decisions without even notifying us. They also said they will be replacing the inadequate pump that Clear Tech installed and replacing it with a variable speed one like we had before that is compatible with our pool and spa. They have also promptly replaced Clear Tech with another company at our request.
As for them coming out immediately to repair the pump - laughable. Our pool was not functional for over a month.
The pictures I attached in the initial complaint were just a few of NUMEROUS occasions that our pool was either not cleaned at all or an inadequate job was done. The pictures they submit to Pathlight are selective and do not show the entire pool where its dirty from them not vacuuming/ brushing. Ill attach the most recent pictures they sent of only parts of the pool.
They were here last to clean the pool ONE week ago on 4/4. We havent gone in at all since February because the water is so gross and Ill attach a picture of what it looks like today.
And **** **- sorry my fiancs income gets your ******* in a wad, but the point was if it came down to it, and the variable speed pump wasnt approved, wed have bought it ourselves without a second thought.
Sincerely,
