2023 Hyundai ****** miles, check engine light on . Code p2181. Made appt . When I get there Im told theres no techs working Saturday and he didnt know why they allowed a Saturday appt. In the first place . Tells me I need to leave the car for a few days . Told him that wasnt possible and I needed something to drive . He said they are all backed up (30 cars ) (NOT MY FAULT they either sell junk cars or have slow techs ). He said it would take a few days to diagnose the problem! Bull, the car tells you the problem and they should be able to diagnose it in a few hours to a day MAX !! The code is coolant system performance! Its either overheating or its not . Its not so its not getting up to temp fast enough ! Thermostat or sensor easy peasy . What is the point of an appt. If its going to take days just to diagnose it? they need to stand behind what they sell , I didnt buy a new car because I enjoy paying for rentals with my car payment . I would complain directly to them but I was told ( and I still have the text) that if youre going to give them anything but a perfect 10 on their survey to not even fill it out ! So they dont want to hear it . Oh and the advisor also told me to take it somewhere else !!! Great way to keep customersBusiness Response

I purchased a 2016 **** f250 from Gettel Hyundai on Aug ******* for ****** and some change. Paid for it, tax tag and title, it is October ****** and there has been no attempt from Gettel to register my truck, they said they would email me the documents from our transaction..I haven't received any, I have called numerous times to inquire about my tag/registration and some money they owe me in taxes that they overcharged..nothing. All I get is answering machine or the response of "I'll look into it " with no follow up phone call. So I have a truck that I can't tag/ drive legally and nothing is being done about it. I am filing a fraud charge with the florida highway patrol, and will look into legal actions this week.Business Response

Due to a delay on our end the processing of the tag work did not get completed while our customer was in ** but he has since moved to AL and we have now sent him new paperwork to sign so we can complete the transaction in AL and therefore not having him be charged twice.

Car was experiencing electrical issues and dropped off on 8-15-24. There have been multiple conversations between us and our insurance company about the lack of resolution. The dealership has now gone dark and won't return any calls. We have attempted to contact the CEO and he denied it was his number (mobile listed on zoominfo). We have also been made aware of another customer who has endured the same issue 3 times with no resolution. They have indicate there is a sell option with credit toward another car without resolution.Business Response

Business signed me up for ****** and Dealership Emails and Texts after unsubscribing multiple times, continues to email me about extra warranty and repair issues that I do not want. Released my phone number to third parties and Ive been receiving non stop political messages since.Business Response

We bought a used car from Gettel on March 28, 2024 for a total purchase price of $18,025.39. $1,341.39 was for tax, title, and registration. We are from **** and were told that we would need to take the car to the State Highway Patrol to get the *** inspected when we returned to ****. We did not do this right away, and our temporary tags expired. We called Gettel for another temp tag knowing that we were going to be off from work and have time to take care of the *** inspection. They said they would send one. Instead of sending one, they sent the Florida title for us to take and get changed to an Ohio title, something we already paid them to do. They did not send a refund for the taxes, title, and registration charges. We had to pay these same fees to the Ohio County Clerk and Bureau of Motor Vehicles. We sent Gettel a receipt showing what we paid. They have yet to refund our entire amount of $1,341.39, for the tax, title, and registration charges. We called and asked about it and were told they would get back to us. A week later, we called, and Mr. * told us he had forgotten about it. We heard nothing for another week. No one returns calls or emails. On the last phone call, Mr. ** said this was our fault (yes - we delayed the *** inspection) and that he called and emailed with no response from us. This is not true. We've had one email from him, which was the documents from the purchase, and we have never had a phone call regarding the ***. Any phone calls have been from us to them. We sent what we thought they needed (a receipt from Ohio County Clerk) to show what we paid for Ohio tax and title. On the last phone call, Mr. ** said that they needed a detailed receipt. Nobody called to tell us this. They just sent a check for $306.06 as a refund of overage charged on Ohio sales tax. We've now paid taxes and title for the same car in two states. To Whom it May Concern,
********************* purchased a 2018 ***** 3 on 03/28/2024 in which we agreed to title and register it in ****. We are obligated to collect sales tax for any vehicle driven on the roads in the State of *******, if the end users state is reciprocal with the State of Florida Department of Revenue that state will recognize that amount and use it as a credit. In order for this process to happen, we must fulfill that states requirements including VIN inspection forms. After losing communication with ********************* we made the decision to create a Florida title and continue on the process of remitting sales tax. ********************* then went to her local DMV where she was required to pay Ohio sales tax and now wants a refund from *******. Unfortunately the Department of Revenue will not issue a refund on the tax portion but we did issue the refund for the Ohio title and registration fees that were never executed.

I am rejecting this response because ******************** states that communication was lost; however,communication was only one-sided: us contacting Gettel. The only time I ever got a response from anyone at Gettel was when I said I was going to file a report with the ************************** ******************** returned my call. **************** also returned a call asking for a receipt from the ****************** I never received any phone calls or voicemails regarding the title of this vehicle or the *** inspection. They have my phone number on the buyer's order. It hasn't changed since I bought the vehicle. Nor did I receive any emails with the exception to the buyer's documents when we first purchased the car, a *** document to take to the inspection from **************, and an email from ******************** asking for a detailed receipt from the ****************** I have provided phone records to show that there has been no communication on Gettel's part. In the buyer's documents, there is no timeline for when the *** has to be inspected. My husband had contacted Gettel to see about another temporary tag and was told by ************** that he would send one so we could get the *** inspected. Instead, about a week later, we received the title in the mail. We were never told or notified that the vehicle would be titled in ******* if they didn't receive a *** inspection within a certain period. Gettel owes us the taxes paid to ******* as there was NO communication that they would title the car in ******** ************** told us one thing and then did another,causing us to pay taxes for the same car in two states. He knew we were working on getting the *** inspection and still proceeded to have the car titled in ******** Gettel owes us a refund for the tax portion of this purchase as they promised a service that they did not provide.

This customer opted to pay out of pocket for the additional tax amount prior to discussing the options with the dealership and with the lack of communication for the required Ohio inspection we had issued a Florida title. We refunded the appropriate tag and title fees collected for the State of ****. Since the vehicle was driven on the roads in the State of *******, we are required by law to collect and remit sales tax. The State of Florida will not issue a refund of any amount. Gettel is not holding sales tax that was paid therefore cannot refund any amount.Hope this clarifies this issue.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I did not opt to pay out of pocket for the additional tax amount as Gettel suggested prior to discussing this with the dealership. The dealership took any choice I had away when they decided to register the car in ******* without discussing it with us, the buyers. There was no lack of communication on our part, and I've provided phone records to show that we were in touch with Gettel. There is nothing in the buyer documents that states the *** inspection has to be completed within a certain time frame. My husband contacted to Gettel to see if it was possible to get another temp tag so we could take the vehicle for the vin inspection. ************** told him that he would send one. Instead of sending a temp tag, he sent a Florida title. Therefore the dealership left us with no other choice but to pay the Ohio fees. We have never bought a car out of state and they said that they would provide us with an Ohio title and they didn't. We are not trying to get money back from the state of *******, but from Gettel for not waiting for the *** inspection from us and then providing us with an Ohio title. We were told when we bought the car that this is what they would do, and they didn't. Hope this clarifies things.

My husband and I wanted to purchase a **** **** Excursion from this dealer. We are out of state, so everything had to be done by phone and e-mail. We agreed on a purchase price and were told they would hold the truck with a signed purchase agreement while financing or cash was obtained. I asked if I could give money immediately for a deposit to hold it and they refused and said a signed purchase agreement is good enough. We were told they would be able to use one of their lenders to finance so I submitted a credit application. After no response from the dealer, we called to check status. We were then told due to the age of vehicle it cant be financed. They should have known this before running my credit. So we said ok we will pay cash but just to move some things around but could wire the money in a day. We were told this is fine and since we had a signed purchase agreement we thought we were ok. The next morning my husband calls to get the information for the wire or transfer of funds. We were then told the vehicle sold the day before. Not only did they violate a signed purchase agreement, they ran my credit knowing the vehicle was ineligible for financing and that it really didnt exist anymore as they sold it to someone else. This seems to be a very shady business practice. How can they sell the vehicle from under us when we had a signed agreement? Why did they continue to communicate with us regarding purchase if they already sold it to someone else?Business Response

Mr. and ******************* were pursuing their own vehicle financing after the dealership was unable to secure a loan. They told the salesperson they would like to use their own credit union as a third party lender ,which we had agreed too. A later time they inform the dealership employee that they were unable to get an approval from their own credit union and may pay cash but would let us know. At that point the vehicle is considered back on the market and available for sale.

On August 12, 2023, I traded my 2020 Jeep Gladiator to Gettel ******* of Sarasota for a 2016 ***** XC60. My Jeep was paid for. I was also to receive $13,000 cash. To date, after numerous contacts and attempted contracts, I have not received any funds. I also see that my Jeep is being advertised for sale on their site.Business Response

Customer purchased vehicle on 08/12/2023 equity checks typically take 10 business days to clear accounting. I personally spoke with customer this customer and explained the process about a week after the transaction. I asked if they would like to pick up the check or have it mailed, they agreed to mail.
Hurricane ****** may have cause some delay in mail.
I've tried numerous times to reach the customer since receiving this ******************** complaint with no success. I've since attached a copy of the check that was issued and cleared ********************** account.
Hopefully this settles any concern.

This company is so so shady! They tried to scam me and my fianc out of a repair that was in warranty. Our vehicle had overheating issues and it happened a few times. First time was on way back from ****** and we were stuck on side of road. Other time there was gushing sounds and knocking which found out was apart of cooling system. Always was covered due to faulty system. This last time it overheated on thanksgiving and we got it towed here. They said the car over heated because we hit something and cracked it. I tried explaining there was no impact and the guy tried saying must have been a parking curb. He determined all this because there was scratches on the skid plate!!!?? Thats what a skid plate is for!!! Yo protect the cars engine area. Well we got it looked at by a different mechanic and I have the radiator and there no crack you can see were it overheated and swolled up and burst. 2 different mechanics from 2 different shops looked at the radiator and said there was no impact like they said. They tried changing us $2600 to fix radiator that should have been in warranty and then charged $300 just to release our car to go get second opinion.Business Response

On 0ctober 4, 2022, I leased a car from Gettel Hyundai of Sarasota. Part of me agreeing to the purchase agreement was the return of $150.00 for charging $5000.00 on my credit card. At the time, that ******** (my salesperson) told me of the charge of 3% for charging the $5000.00, I refused to pay the charge and said I would return after going to the bank to withdraw the money and he spoke to somebody and returned and stated that "they will refund you the money". I said fine.I then went to finance where I saw ******************* and asked him about the refund and he did not know what I was talking about. He left the room, spoke to somebody and returned and said "no problem, it will be refunded" to me. In leaving, I asked ******** where my refund is and he said "it takes two to three weeks". I believed him and said ok.I returned to pick up the car on October 6, 2022 and received the paperwork including a Gettel Automotive Group Check Request form made out to me for $150.00 with my address, with a signiture that approved the refund and again was told it would take 2 to 3 weeks. The form I received is attached.Since, October 6, 2022, I have been trying to get this refund. Its been one excuse after another. One excuse was they did not have my DD214 (military discharge) because there was a $ ****** credit for being in the military. I sent them that. Then they did not have my new insurance cards, so I sent them that (for the 2nd time). I have receipt for both items. I have a complete log of my conversation with ******** concerning the payment of this $150.00 which if necessary I will get printed out from my phone which he indicates that I am entitled to the money and does not know why and can't find out why it has not been sent.There is no reason for not sending me the refund promised me.Business Response
