I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Gulfgate Aluminum that I feel compelled to share. My experience with this company included issues with workmanship, professionalism, and the completion of the job.We contracted ***************** to perform work on our condominium in ********, which we visit while vacationing. Unfortunately, the entire process was a nightmare from start to finish. It took them over four months to repeatedly inform us that they couldn't complete the job correctly. When they finally did show up, they claimed they could try to finish the job but only when we were not present, which was highly inconvenient and suspicious. The workmanship was subpar, to say the least. The quality of their work was far below any reasonable standard, and it was evident that the job was rushed and not given the attention it required. Additionally, the staff demonstrated a severe lack of professionalism throughout the entire process, which only added to our ************** summary, *************************** was unacceptable. Their unprofessional conduct, combined with their inability to complete the work to any degree of satisfaction, has left us extremely dissatisfied. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for their aluminum needs. We live in **** and sought a reliable company to rebuild our lanai and install travertine inside, as well as pavers around the lanai. The company extended the travertine outside of the lanai, describing this as normal. Unfortunately, ***************** did not meet our expectations, and we hired another company to finish the job!Gulf Gate Rescreening Response

Mrs. R******* contracted us to do a job for her which was completed about 3-4 months ago. Some of her family members had a problem with the way that some pavers were installed. We tried 6-8 times to change and remedy what the complaint was and we were not allowed back on the property. Customer claims she hired someone else to finish the project but project is still exactly as we left it. The major complaint was from her brother who was a "contractor" who was unpleased with our work quality. This same individual went on to try to cut a side deal with our pavers crews as he told them that he was starting a paver business. Since then we have placed on lien on the property due to the avoidance of paying over $4400 on the account. Writing negative false reviews does not give you the right or omission of paying all money due on a contracted job. It is very unfortunate that this did not work out. Lien will remain on your property until bill is paid in full.Review from Pedro C

I called this company on the morning of October 29, 2024, to have one screen repaired on our lanais & was told that there was a waiting list until December 11, 2024. Later that afternoon, I referred neighbors who had multiple screen tears & repairs on their caged enclosure to this company. Their multiple screens were repaired before ours on December 3, 2024. Our one screen was eventually repaired on December 14, 2024. I am still wondering how this happened! I wrote to this company on December 11, 2024 but never received an answer. Having spent almost $18,000.00 with this company over the last few years, I am disappointed with their service & lack of response.

Contracted ********* through my pool company for a pool cage installation, and the experience was disappointing. I wish we had hired a different company directly. From the start, Gulf Gate was problematic. The crew damaged our fascia/soffit, exposing the plywood roof and leaving nails exposed overnight. Every beam was scratched and dented, despite us buying new aluminum. They tried to cover the scratches with black paint instead of bronze, making it worse. They mishandled structural beams, removing them without adequate roof support. I had to step in to fix this, complicating matters due to the crews limited English. There were also issues with the screen door and damage to our fence post, which they used as a cutting surface.Gulf Gate was slow to address these problems, delaying repairs for over a month. When I complained, ********* from scheduling dismissed my concerns, claiming their work passed inspection. When ****, the manager, contacted me, his response was inadequate. He said scratches and dents were normal for outdoor structures, which was unacceptable given the new materials we paid for. **** was dismissive and unprofessional.Another manager responded to my dissatisfaction by saying, Ill just have my crew pack up and leave then. Matts approach was unprofessional, refusing to acknowledge the substandard work and dismissing my frustration. He even said, Well, how about this, Ill dictate when my crew comes out to fix everything, which was both unhelpful and dismissive.Gulf Gate eventually returned to address most issues after a month, but problems like a large dent in a beam remain unresolved. Our fence still has holes and aluminum debris, and the fascia is still scratched and dented. This review is an honest account of my experience with Gulf Gate. Photos documenting the issues are available.Review from Paul L

We had them install a 15x15 lanai screen using no see um screening. Their price was very competitive, the install was started on schedule and was completed amazingly quick and the result looks great. The only reason did not give 5 stars is the cleanup missed a just few too many small scrap pieces.Review from Jason M

I do not recommend doing business with this company at all! I had a disappointing and frustrating experience to say the least. The business owner (or Sales Manager, ******) will probably respond to this review by pointing out how they tried to correct for their unresponsiveness, or they will throw in the hurricane, but do not let that fool anyone. They chose not to do the right thing. With all the stars and good reviews, I thought this company one of the good ones. Apparently, I was wrong.Gulf Gate Rescreening Response

We understand that **************** is upset at some backlog and feels there should have been better communication. We regret that we were not able to have satisfactorily helped ****************. We apologized then, as we do now, for any lapse in communication. It is not our intent to use the Hurricane as an excuse, but rather to try and provide understanding to ****************. We were fortunate to maintain electricity and not have sustained any damage, however we were inundated with more workload than ever before. For example we were receiving approximately ******* calls per day, sometimes even over **** calls in one day. We tried our best to mediate and compromise with ****************, even offering a discount of $800, which he promptly declined. Although we have no intrest in engaging in an ongoing dispute with this client and we would have preferred to have the chance to work with him to provide the experience we are known for, we also feel that a review and ****** of this magnitude and weight is neither fair nor accurate given no work was ever actually performed for ****************. We find it unreasonable to make claims on the quality of a business when no business has in fact been conducted.

Moved to Florida a few years ago. never had a lanai. Had a total rescreen last year. After Ian needed some repairs. Called for some quotes. When the new contractor came out they were "stunned" at the workmanship. The contractor said, " I hate to tell you this but, that is some pretty shoddy work". I went back through my photos, prior to Ian, and sent them to the company. I explained that I did not know that the screens were installed poorly until someone with screen knowledge pointed it out. I am not a screen installer ! The young ladies on the phone were accusatory. Said, " by the pictures, it looks like storm damage" . I said the date stamp is before the storm. The receptionist told me I was "lucky" the damage wasn't worse. Also stated, we also gave you a payment plan, and you paid over 6 months...we don't usually do that" What does that have to do with anything? Anyways, I wasn't asking for "free " anything but she accused me of attempting fraud. I asked if she would just have the owner review the before Ian pics. I know they are busy. She refused to let me talk to an installer. All in all, $6000.00 of noseeum screen, 2 young ladies on the phone who refused to let me talk to anyone about my workmanship issues/concerns.... And then accused of fraud. Disappointed.
