After many attempts to resolve this issue, which includes retracting a previous ****** Review to give Shauyb Dentistry a chance, I am posting my review again. After reading the first review, the dentist office became irate so I tried to resolve the matter again and could not. October 19, 2023 Tooth extraction, x-rays, and dental implant procedure and given antibiotics. 1-1/2 weeks later Tooth area became highly inflamed/swollen/sore called dentist and was told I already had antibiotics and will be fine. Few more days later Tooth area worsened and called dentist again. Asked for more antibiotics and was told no. Three days later Called dentist and begged for antibiotic and was given a prescription; however, the infection was severe, and my implant fell out. November 10, 2023 appointment was told it was fine and I would have to wait 4 months for healing. April 17, 2023 appointment for implant dentist took x-rays, did a cleaning and sent me home without an implant. Many weeks later after calling multiple times asking about an implant procedure and receiving no return call, I received a letter in the mail saying they would no longer treat me and to find another dentist. They were upset that I called asking about this and showing dissatisfaction with no return contact with their office. It is very unprofessional to ignore your patients. Because they did not fix the implant, I asked for a refund so I could go to another dentist. It was a very costly procedure. The woman on the phone said very rudely that my implant failed because I smelled like smoke at my appointment and smoking causes it. I told her that many times I come into their appointments after work, which I am a firefighter/paramedic, and encounter many brush fires during my 24 hours shifts. She said she would speak to the dentist and contact me by the end of the week (Friday). I was not contacted by the dentist office. I was offered to little money.

      Tell uJune 13, 2023
10/19/2022- Patient present for pain #3. Treatment was discussed and a CT scan was completed.  Extraction of #3, bone graft, and an implant was placed.
11/10/2022- post op check, gums appear irritated.  Patient instructed to rinse with warm salt water.  4 Quads SRP done this day as well.
12/14/2022- Pt presents with #3 implant out.
4/17/2023- Perio Maint performed and CT scan done.  Dr reviewed CT scan after patient left and instructed to call and have him heal for another month before the 2nd implant was to be  placed.
4/26/2023-  Called patient to inform him of the additional month at which time he became irritated and obnoxious.
******************************* came in and consented to the implant of #3 at which time he signed a consent stating that smoking along with other unhealthy habits may cause the implant to fail and a refund will not be awarded if such habits were not controlled.  It is documented through his chart notes of his smoking.
Dr. ********************** Shuayb offered to refund both the insurance company and ******************************* for the implant, as it was determined that he did not follow the guidelines for a successful placement. However, ******************************* refused this offer. It appears that he became irritated and obnoxious, and he was not accepting the fact that additional healing time was necessary for a successful implant placement.
*********************************** frustration escalated to the point where he began sending numerous emails, text messages, and negative reviews.  As a result, Dr. ********************** Shuayb felt that it would be in his best interest to recommend that ******************************* seek treatment elsewhere due to his behavior.
      Enclosed are all requested copies.

      Thank you,

      Complaint: 20179387

I am rejecting this response because: I told the office several times, I do not smoke and that it was brush fire season and as a fireman we have been running a lot of brush fires in this dry season. I was upset with the office as they refused to answer in a timely manner not only to me but they would not even answer the insurance company ************* I asked them to either replace the implant or refund my money so I could go elsewhere and I was told no. Not until I started actions with the insurance company and the BBB did they finally respond and offer the implant refund only which was around **** dollars of the **** I spent. I responded back and said please include the bone graft ( a squirt of glue) that they billed 491 dollars for and I would accept the offer. I felt this was fair they were still getting to keep around the money for consults, films, ct scans etc which I would have to have repeated elsewhere for the replacement. I felt this was a very fair offer so I presented it to them and was refused. So I am currently researching the procedure to file a complaint with the ******* ****************** and requesting a certified copy of my medical records, in order to start that process unless my offer is meet. Thank you for your time.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

Date of service 11/02/2022 Wife and I had dentists appointments, her at 2p and me at 3p. She gets there on time, is xrayed and is made to wait for over an hour. Then when I arrive I get xrayed and am sitting for about 30 minutes. So when I find out that my wife has been waiting since her appt time and I have been waiting 30 minutes to be seen, I ask the front desk person what is taking so long. And we were told "The doctor has been on a phone call", then we're told "that's just the way it is". So very rude. We refuse to be treated or spoke to in such a way, then they expected us to just sit and take it? No, we told them we wouldn't be treaded like that and we left. We immediately called our insurance and reported what just took place and not to pay. Of course they billed. So now I have a financial complaint filed currently with my insurance. I have tried to resolve this issue on my own, and spoke with 2 people from there, both of them straight up refused to put me on with a manager. Then both proceeded to bully me and talk over me, one even mocked me for complaining, and nothing I said was ever heard. In fact, the first time I called I was told someone will call back, no one ever did. Not a surprise. I am not the only one with a story like this, in the interest of justice this business and its employees should be looked at and these claims investigated. Upon looking at more of their reviews, it seems like I'm not the only one with this same complaint. There are other people with stories of having to reschedule because the doctor didn't show, or the doctor wanted to leave early. Any person would think a name that big in the industry would have more service or hospitality oriented people working for them. But I refuse to pay a bill where the people can just talk to and treat people however they see fit. I work much too hard for my money, as I'm sure we all do, and hopefully other people will stand up and speak out.

Patients C***** and Michael K******* both came in for exam and x-rays on 11/2/2022.  X-rays were taken on both patients and exams were not completed due to the doctor taking an important phone call at the time of their appointments.  Things arise at times that our not in our control and it is explained to the patient with the hopes of their understanding.  However that was not the case.  Michael became loud and obnoxious gathering his wife and storming out of the office yelling profanities at the staff with other patients in the waiting room.  Michael called recently because he received a bill from the office for the x-rays he and his wife had taken.  Penny, our receptionist explained that the x-rays went toward his deductible and payment is expected because that part of the appointment was completed.  The exam part of the appointment was incomplete and was not billed to their insurance or the patient.  Michael called a second time and I(Sophia)answered the phone and was unable to speak because the patient was very loud and would not let me explain, so I did talk over him to try to explain why he received a bill.  He really didn't care what I had to say nor did he want to understand that services were rendered and payment is expected.  If any further information is needed I will be happy to provide any further details.  Thank You.  Sophia

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

That is an absolute falsity. I would like the camera footage from that day reviewed if that's the case you're going to make. I have my wife as a witness to the day of the incident as well as for both phone calls.

I was the one that had to ask why it was taking so long. No one knew. I was already in the process of walking out the door as the doctor came out and said he was on the phone, and then said his rude comments.  No one explained anything before that. And I was the one that called twice looking for a resolution. Was given none. Then I was mocked for not understanding your "doctor and insurance lingo". And then you lie on top of everything.

And yes, issues do arise sometimes, in your office, alot. All anyone has to do is check your 1 star reviews, there are plenty to see that i am not the only one with this issue of waiting on the doctor and getting rude comments and bad service from your location.

And storming out? Swearing? That's not how I do business. Nice try. But just from talking with you for 5 minutes I see how you guys conduct yourselves. Shame on you.

I am calling your bluff and asking you to prove your claims. If you cannot, in the interest of justice I move that the BBB sides with me, and I no longer owe your organization anything.

I will pursue things further if need be, due to your continued mocking and defamation.

      Sincerely,

      Michael K*******

The facts are as written in my last response.  I have 4+ employees who also witnessed the day unfold.  We are a business and like every other business we can not please everyone, but do expect to get paid for services rendered regardless.  I will be more than happy to forward x-rays to any dentist of their choice.  The patients expressed having a bad experience and we are truly sorry about that.  At this point there is nothing that can fix the situation, but some services were rendered and the patients deductible goes towards that service.  It it our responsibility to  perform dental services as we are not insurance experts.  Shuayb Dental accepts and bills a patients insurance as a courtesy.  It is the patients responsibility to know their dental plan.  Patients sign a form that clearly states that and any unpaid part of a claim is the patients responsibility.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Point blank and period you can't treat people any way you want and expect for me to accept your horrendous and mocking behavior. Shame on you and your practice. You made it very clear the day in your office how you guys do business and even more apparent now with your lies and exaggerations.

Last time I checked this is still america and I can choose who to do business with. Along with that it is implied that the business will remain professional. You may have missed that ethics class.

I owe you nothing, I will pay nothing. However I will continue to escalate this. This is very personal to me now because you can even be honest enough to tell the truth of what happened. That's fine. Not what this is about.

So again, we can go back and forth all day, but unfortunately when dealing with the likes of people like you and your "co-workers", it's never to any avail because you sit on high on your little pedestal and will continue your mocking and awful behavior and service.

I plan on calling any television news agency or paper that will listen to me, your corporate number will be called, and anyone else willing to lend an ear will hear about your actions and your practice.

The "facts", as you so eloquently put it, are you and your people are more worried about running a business and not a Healthcare practice. Health, care, these are words that mean something to some people. The practice part may be what you need more of, for being polite to people who have nothing but time on their hands.

      Sincerely,

      Michael K*******
